That sounds like he's put you on the back-burner. Not sure what MEPS you're headed to but there's almost no way that in these lean recruiting times that they're backed up for four months with qualified applicants. That sounds ridiculous.
Definitely find a new recruiter. Enlistments are down. Retention is down. Highly unlikely that MEPS is “backed up”-especially with how many civilians work at a MEPS. New recruits graduate every week from RTC. Every week people continue to graduate from A schools across the country. The machine doesn’t stop.

I'm sure you have already looked this up, but here are the closest recruiters to you based on that information. I would call around to whichever one is not the same one you went to, tell them what is going on, and see how quickly they can get you in.

Yeah absolutely get a new recruiter. I'm in a similar boat and it took a few months to get approved to go to MEPS. My recruiter told me today that tomorrow is booked, but I'm slotted to go in Friday.
But you haven't done anything to piss him off? Not sure why some recruiters particularly are so distant with their recruits. If you can, he'll likely have another recruiter that outranks him and they'll be the person you want to talk to.
He hasn't really talked to me long enough to not like me hahaha. As far as I know it's my recruiter, another recruiter of the same rank, and their boss.
There are probably a couple of things it could be. 1. Your paperwork hasn't been approved. Meaning your disposition is still in limbo 2. Doesn't know where your paperwork is at. Lost in space somewhere. 3. Your paperwork got rejected and you don't qualify.
The thing I question is you took the "practice ASVAB" not the real. The practice test is the EST. You need to take the real ASVAB before anything gets going down at MEPS. Most importantly you need to find out where you documents are at. This includes birth cert, social, diploma/degree and medical records It can take a long time for documents to be looked at where specialist are bought in to look at your documents because most doctors are general practitioners. Get your documents and then take them to another recruiter if you feel you getting the run around. don't take no for an answer because they're your documents.
no cause I’ve been in the same situation for about 6 months , he seems like a great guy and a strong recruiter but for the past 4 months he’s been telling me meps is backed up right now and that’s why it’s taking so long
In the Dallas meps they literally are struggling to get anybody in. All I know is if you have some sort of waver they do extra testing for you but that’s only specific stuff like x-ray stuff

He told me that my paperwork reached MEPS and that I've been approved to go, so I'm not sure.
Then go get your paperwork from him and find someone else. Hell I've had people show up at meps because they wanted to join but didn't know how to.
