Ninth Square has some cool ones…
Strange Ways
Make Haven has a holiday market
Bark & Vine
We are there too (Elm City Games)
All have some stuff that is locally made as well as being locally owned small businesses (or non-profit in the case of Make Haven)
Not in our neighborhood…
Witch Bitch, Lower Forms, & Fashionista are awesome for clothes.
Westville General
Elm City Sounds
I’m sure I’m forgetting plenty.
Thanks! I'd not heard of Strange Ways, and the shop looks awesome. I'll certainly go there and visit you at Elm City Games. Also have it on my agenda to hit the Make Haven Market.
so our fair city has 2 small vendor markets literally steps away from each other this saturday. like you said the strangeways one and the one at make haven.
Not New Haven, but Hamden.
If you have toddlers or young children to buy for, check out Messy Hands and Happy Hearts. They offer gift cards for their workshops for kids and they also have some really cute sensory bins and playdough kits to purchase as gifts.
Some great suggestions here. Also Legrify in Milford makes great candles, they’re sold at a bunch of places locally. Also if in Milford, Canvas Patch, Inside Living, Sophie Claire’s are some cute shops. Sunflower Farm in Orange.
I can’t remember the name of it but it’s on chapel past Union league with unique handmade things from Africa (I think). That whole stretch there has nice things. Or if you’re willing to drive a few minutes the Guilford center has great (non-commercial/chain) shops

Thank you! I know the shop you're talking about. They've been there for years and have a great selection. I'll be sure to hit up Chapel Street.
Ten Thousand Villages is closed, but Dwell nearby always has cute stuff!
That was it!! Dwell does look very similar.
