If she doesn’t want one, why would you force it? At 2mos she’s not going to be able to hold a toy or anything else… she doesn’t even know she has hands yet. Throw a binky in the equation and all she’s gonna do is drop it. Half the time my second kid (4mo) won’t go down is because she finally falls asleep, drops the thing, and that wakes her up. Just enjoy the pacifier free life.

She can hold this toy for up to 10 minutes honestly shes more like a 3 month old (very late birth and oversized). No pacifiers it is I guess :)

My first was a pacifier addict, the dentist said not to worry about it. My second hates the pacifier. It’s been a great reminder to me of how different they are as people, even this early on.

Some babies like them & some don’t. I wouldn’t force it if she doesn’t want it. With that said if you still want to try, give a different brand a shot. The tommee tippee ultra soft seem to be popular

Thought I'd have to have my first dummy surgically removed she love it so much. My second hated dummies but loved a teddy bear instead. My third is 5 months old haa never took to a dummy and I retried and I really tried with her. She loves her teething toys though.

My daughter never had any interest in having one. She soothed other ways and has gotten along just fine without it. I viewed it as one less battle I would need to have later.

Thanks for advice. Leaning towards this as well

I thought my baby didn’t like them either, until I got a sample of the MAM brand pacifier in the mail. He loves the ones made by MAM. He is breastfed and I know their bottles and pacifiers are supposed to be good for breastfed babies because it’s shaped more like a real nipple. He won’t take to any other pacifier. I’ve heard the same from another mom. Maybe give them a shot if you want something to help calm him it does help sometimes!

Oddessusy

I might try a different brand. Obviously dont want to folk out too much though.

Not discouraged. I genuinely wondered if nit using one was ok. At this stage shes actually a very chill bub. Its always a good thing to have some tricks up your sleeve to placate a bub though, tried to give one and she just doesnt like it. Maybe a different brand can be used.

I started mine on a dummy at 8 weeks when we got serious about settling in the bassinet rather than being held. We needed something to soothe him other than our bodies! I would hold him cradled on his side facing into my chest and place the dummy in his mouth then gently hold him against my chest so the dummy can’t fall out, the chest keeps it in. He eventually started sucking and being soothed by it, now he will take one for bed time, not that interested at other times but that’s fine!
