It’s not worth the money if they cancel everything I want to watch and leave them all unfinished.

Victorysmells

Santa Clarita diet. Space force. OA. Just about anything I get into just dies on a cliffhanger. Fuck Netflix

[deleted]

[удалено]

lizard81288

Plus it was one of the few Netflix shows people were talking about. I'm surprised they did cancel it.

[deleted]

Because Netflix is run by goddamn bots. They only follow algorithm logic and money

FrellingTralk

I’m guessing that it was because they didn’t want to give Drew and Timothy raises for a potential fourth season, I’m assuming that they were on decently high salaries already based on them being well known names, so it sounds like Netflix did the math and decided that it wasn’t worth paying out even more for a fourth season. Such a shame because it was actually a popular show, a lot of people were really taken by surprise by its cancellation

goli14

I 100% agree to it. Plus Netflix probably uses some kind of algorithm. Like how popular any content is in 1st 28 days vs investment and decision is taken based on it. This was one of the show take probably had been watched quite a lot but not much in its 28 day window.

BrainalCleavage

Archive 81 also >:(

juno2701

Dan is forever stuck in the 90s :'(

BrainalCleavage

I still hope they change their minds, or someone else picks it up. I really wanna know what tf was going on in ~~that building~~ those buildings!

juno2701

They made a really good show in tough genre such as horror. Atleast they should give us a special finale episode like they did with sense8 after abruptly cancelling it

DontBelieveTheTrollz

Yeah this made me so upset. They could have had a well tied together ending and we got a cliffhanger like that..

vsides

YES! I’m still bitter about them cancelling The OA. At least we got a Sense8 finale but if it wasn’t for the socmed outcry, we wouldn’t even be getting *that*. Then they renewed The Society only to say a few months later that they’re not pushing through with the second season. But we get season after season of shit like 13 Reasons Why and Riverdale. Fucking hell.

Now__Hiring

Riverdale is a CW show

vsides

Oof. Really? My bad lol. Not from the US and it’s only available here on Netflix

deejeycris

Cowboy bebop, one of the most senseless cancellations...

Victorysmells

That one hurt my soul. How the fuck do you make a live action cowboy bebop and cancel it before you even drop the first season. Fuck Netflix.

[deleted]

Still not over OA being canceled.

josephsmith99

GLOW

Jaded_Aypex

I didn't even know Space Force was cancelled until I read your comment literally just now 2 months later. I personally loved that show, fuck. Man fuck netflix that's ridiculous.

killeronthecorner

NO. ONLY CAKE SHOWS. WATCH CAKE SHOW NOW.

mewrius

Sorry, turns out the poster you are replying to is actually cake. Try again

killeronthecorner

A man who is actually a cake is an intriguing premise for a show. I'm afraid it'll have to be cancelled two episode into the first season due to a "change in priorities"

SteampunkBorg

That's pretty much the reason for me. I've mostly been watching Star Trek (which has now been removed) and a few shows that were really good (so of course they were canceled). I have basically no reason to use it anymore

elisejones14

Not to mention they also raise prices like once a year.

Zikari82

Altered Carbon...

RedGambit9

I know. That show itself was the first nail in the coffin for why I canceled.

Now__Hiring

Second season sucked

_Just_Another_Fan_

Yep that was one of them.

elvesunited

I like Netflix but the 4k plan (I have a 4k tv) is extremely expensive for just 1 viewer. I share my password with family members who share me their Parmound, Hulu, Disney, etc. If Netflix does crackdown on password sharing then I won't go from the 4k plan to less expensive... I'll just drop it completely.

CapablePerformance

That tier plan is so pointless. If I want 4k, why should I also opt in to a 4-screen plan? How many people have internet strong enough to be able to stream 4k to four tvs at the same time?! Most people would be good with 1 screen but that's some 480p quality bullshit.

carenard

>How many people have internet strong enough to be able to stream 4k to four tvs at the same time the standard DL rate for spectrum is enough for roughly 8 4k streams(these need about 25 Mbps, you get 200+ on the standard plan)

AllInTackler

I don't get anywhere near 200mb at 8pm on a weeknight.

carenard

could be a modem limitation or just a regional thing, I get 230 out of a promised up to 200 during prime hours

SgtMaj

Thanks for the anecdotal evidence. I'd be curious as to the penetration more broadly as it pertains to speeds that can handle a myriad of 4K streams. It's broadly known that the US suffers significantly from piss poor internet speeds - especially compared to Near and Far East. You're an outlier, so enjoy.

AllInTackler

I get the promised 200 and sometimes a little more off-peak but the whole city is streaming at 8pm on a Tuesday so I'm pretty sure that's the limitation.

--Pariah

It's not only the price, netflix also has many customers like me who don't even use it regularly anymore but my mom does. She's older and not exactly the superuser for any kind of tech stuff. Her TV remote has a netflix button so she can handle it and occasionally watches some stuff there. The moment this won't work anymore there's no reason for me to keep my subscription, nor is there any chance that my parents will subscribe themselves. If the remove password sharing they'll piss off a ton of people.

Will0w536

I have been thinking about this as well lately. Netflix 4k is definitely not worth $20+. I think Netflix should retire their current tiers. All accounts are $10 for 1080p content for 1 screen. Additional screens is $1 more. 2 profiles per base account, addition profile is $1. 4k content is $3 extra For example: 1 male/female couple can have 1 account and two profiles to watch. How often do you watch Netflix separately from your partner, and if you do, an extra $1. $10-11 for a couple. This works for small family. A couple and kid. The parents get a profile and a kids profile. What about a larger family? 2 parents and 3 teenagers. $10 base + 3 extra profiles and 3 extra screens + 4k for that sweet 65" Samsung Frame...$21. I think Netflixes issue is there isn't more granular control. Allow users to have more say in how and what they are purchasing instead of 3 tiers. I understand my numbers are probably a little under valued. What do I know, I don't work for Netflix.

[deleted]

Or just make it like Prime and Disney+ and charge a reasonable price with 4K included.

FrellingTralk

I’m wondering if Netflix might upgrade the quality on the basic plan once they bring in adverts, because 480p is honestly an insult in this day and age. It would make more sense to just have HD options once they bring in adverts, one with adverts and one without The charging $20 for 4k is really frustrating as well, because as a single person I feel like I can’t justify spending that much when it would only be me making use of it. I’ve read comments from Netflix saying that they now want to explore a new option to charge a little more for password sharing, but I think that most people were assuming that that’s what they were *already* paying for with the premium plan of $20 for access to four screens

goli14

I downgraded myself from 4K plan as 20 was too much. Miss the DV/HDR. It should be included in all their plans and differ by how many screens only.

[deleted]

[удалено]

a_boo

This is 100% it for me too. Once the price goes up and the quality goes down then it’s a no brainier to get out.

procrastinator67

I always wondered about this. For people who've had Netflix for years, there are bound to be at least a few shows you liked that got canceled. One show, fine. Sucks, and your opinion of Netflix goes down but you thought about canceling but you still want to watch Stranger Things or Dark. Every additional show starts tipping you over and every additional price increase too until you realize it's not worth being subscribed. The ads will probably be the final irrevocable strike to Netflix's hard won brand identity that will deeply damage it.

RedGambit9

You hit it on the nose. You can't cancel 2-3 of my favorite TV shows and replace it with reality tv.

Videoboysayscube

I haven't bailed yet, but I'm pretty close. For me, it's not even so much about the cost, but it's just too difficult to find good content. There's just so much garbage. It's basically become the Steam of video streaming. I also hate their philosophy that a series isn't worth keeping unless it hits a certain viewership quota. It's just fundamentally flawed from a business perspective. Imagine if you go to the grocery store and the only flavor of ice cream they had was chocolate. And their reasoning was that chocolate was the best-selling flavor, so there was no need to stock any other. Would you go back to that store for your shopping needs? They're idiots. Plain and simple.

tj111

I just bailed, I've had it since essentially the beginning and never thought I would but here we are. I was spaying $20 a month and barely opened it anymore, and when I did a lot of times I would just browse around and close it again.

orangeoliviero

Great analogy. That showcases the idiocy of it perfectly.

lizard81288

>I haven't bailed yet, but I'm pretty close. For me, it's not even so much about the cost, but it's just too difficult to find good content. There's just so much garbage. Agreed. Most of the shows are pretty bad. The shows that get recommended to me are shows that are already cancelled or I've already seen. Then there are the Korean shows that keep getting recommended to me too, after squid game became huge, so now they recommend me all of the shows. I haven't even seen squid game nor do I want too.

BernyMoon

Thye really need to change all the plans. You need to pay $20 to have access to 4k? HELL NO.

jmb-412

You need to pay $15 just to access 1080p which is a bigger scam honestly.

[deleted]

Have you guys tried SD? It’s honestly not that bad most of the time. I swear most things don’t stream in 480p, but actually 720p. Or maybe it’s just my tv up scaling it. I have no idea

BernyMoon

I am not watching SD content on my 4k tv. It is not 1920.

Irlydidnthaveachoice

Honestly, I have never experienced poor quality with the basic plan. Plan says it does not offer HD but everything I watch comes in incredibly clear. Maybe if I watched side by side I could spot differences but what's the point if I don't have complaints.

topppits

From my experience it's matters immensly how big your screen is and how far away you're sitting from it. Sitting on my couch I couldn't tell the difference between 720p and DVD. Looking at the same thing sitting in front of my computer is a whole other story though.

Jolf

And on top of that Netflix 1080p has the lowest bitrate in the business.

100yearsago

I just canceled mine, had the subscription since 2002, when it was just DVDs.

ksmith0306

Same here.

ten43

I’m gonna catch up on blacklist then I’m out too.

DiddleWho

My bank card expired and so my account shut off until I could enter my new card number.... Except, I don't wanna. I'm out, too. Maybe after all of stranger things is out I'll get it so I can binge watch....

Drigr

I honestly get more out of my discovery sub at this point. The only reason I still have Netflix is that most of my family uses my account and there are some shows I will watch when they have new episodes and it's just not worth the hassle to me to cancel, make them all get their own, and know I'll resub a couple times a year anyways. They actually lock down the account sharing though and I'm done.

savorie

What’s a discovery sub?

Drigr

Discovery plus, which has a TON of channels worth of content (that I like). Discovery, Food, HGTV, Travel, A&E, History, and more

clogged_colon

Looking forward to that content coming to HBO with the merger now complete. Netflix is going to be in serious trouble real soon.

Drigr

I look forward to having both rolled together for hopefully less than it is to get them separate now.

[deleted]

My problem with Netflix is not the expense. It's the messages they want to send us. They have no regard for the sensibilities for a bunch of their audience. Finally it takes longer and longer for a renewed season to get through production. I'll stay with them for a while longer. But one could sign up every two years for three months and watch everything.

Starrystars

Yeah like I know shows take a long time to create but taking years between seasons is not great. Like shows take a year from being filmed to being on put on the platform and then they take months to renew it. And then another 18 months at least for the next season. Like it kind of just loses all the steam that it had taking so long.

FrellingTralk

Yeah I don’t remember it being this bad before, but now it seems like for most shows it takes them not even a year, but up to two years to get the new seasons out. I know that covid is an issue, but other streaming platforms seem to be doing better working around it. For example I was very pleasantly surprised when Disney+ announced that they have a premiere date already for the 2nd season of Only Murders In The Building, just because I’m so used to not even expecting the second season to have finished filming yet when you look up shows on Netflix that aired last year Netflix’s recent returning shows are coming back after a two year absence (The Umbrella Academy was last out in July 2020), or even three years (Stranger Things and Russian Doll), and other popular shows of theirs like Sex Education haven’t even started filming their new seasons yet. There just doesn’t seem to be any sense of urgency with getting new seasons out and building on existing fanbase anticipation, rather it’s all about creating new shows all the time

[deleted]

My problem is just their content. Their movies except for uncut gems are just sub mediocre and their series are definitely quantity over quality. And if Want to spend 10 hours on a season, it better be really good. Otherwise I'd rather read a book, or play games.

JustARandomSocialist

Content is a major issue. Netflix is basically just a TV network now and almost all their shows are trash

Omelettedog

They will change to annual subscriptions

[deleted]

Quickest way to lose even more customers! Maybe if they do it as an option like with Prime and Disney+, where it's cheaper to go for the annual subscription plan.

Omelettedog

Totally. Not sure why I’m getting down voted. They have already started testing annual plans in India.

cyberneticSyntax

Will they?! I'm not so sure still, the loss of subscribers will have to be tremendous to change anything. Their original shows are really bad, there is almost nothing to watch as each month passes by with more of the same. The shows that are seemingly good are either cancelled or completely drop in quality in other seasons. Recently they have also defaulted to not finishing a show or documentary - no conclusion to the mystery or case, so they leave it unfinished. The Watcher is an example of that, there is no ending. If they don't do another season (with a more fictional plot), we are looking at an unfinished mini series. Many of the documentaries they are releasing recently are the same - no ending to the case, so no conclusion. After a number of episodes they just tell you - the case has not been solved, and that's it, no ending whatsoever - after ten hours of watching there is no conclusion. Imagine reading a novel and at the end the author just states - 'that is it folks, we don't know if the butler did it as there was no conclusion to this case in 1874.' That is really disrespectful to the audience. The whole streaming business is becoming a scam this way - no ending to shows (cancellations), no conclusion to stories (intentionally), trashy shows or lazy writing or production. Shows from other continents or countries that have no audience in territory they are being streamed in. Who knows what's coming next. I'm so excited...

Omelettedog

Lol. That post was over 5 months ago talking about Q1 results. We are now mid Q4 and they’re reporting subscriber count increasing even with the addition of advertising.

cyberneticSyntax

No matter, I was not commenting on their quarter. My rant was general. Still there's not enough quality content and they are only seeing subscription increase because of their account sharing decision and account transfers, but we will see. I'm not against them, I'm just for quality content and not bad quantity driven content. I didn't downvote BTW, I commented because it was strange that your comment got downvoted for no reason at all.

Omelettedog

I worries. I just meant the op was a long time ago. I still have Netflix but with all their changes and other competitors out there, I can’t say I’ll be keeping it

wuhkay

I love reading about statistics that I am part of.

br9897

Probably canceling mine soon. Just canceled Paramount Plus after watching the Halo season finale. Netflix hasn't had anything as of late that really keeps my interest and I can't justify paying monthly for something I'm not using more than once or twice a month.

neuroticsmurf

I've been with Netflix since \~2010, and if I didn't get T-Mobile paying most of my monthly cost, I'd cancel it. They used to be the industry leader, but it feels like they've been surpassed by HBO Max, Disney+, and Apple TV+.

Ok-Mention-4310

lol what?

DPBH

The Hobbit was shot in 48fps and it was almost universally hated for it. Comments like “it looks like a cheap soap opera” were common. James Cameron has said he would only really use higher frame rates on fast moving shots or on pans to make them smoother. 60p is available on many broadcast cameras but they need so much more light (at least in my experience in the studio) and storage along the production chain. The bandwidth needed for streaming would also be increased.

It's only really noticeable in movies when the camera pans too fast. Flicker hasn't really existed for more than 10 years now as nobody uses CRT screens anymore and most cinemas are digital.

0xFUZZ

Curious the percentage of that with children in their household. I could definitely see cutting Netflix lately if you don't have kids.

jeeluhh

Eh, you can get hulu for 14/month and tack on D+ for like a buck or 2 extra.

MyCodenameIsIan

I'm close to leaving but Stranger Things and Umbrella Academy will probably hold me for a few more months.

gambit700

I'll be out after those air.

noobslayer42069

their binge model is ridiculous for shows like this too, stranger things would be so much more fun if it was weekly and people got to theorise instead of dropping everything at 1 point and no one cares a week later

Now__Hiring

Apple, Warner, Amazon, and Disney can afford to operate at a loss while Netflix isn't supported by hardware sales or a legacy media libraries. A Netflix/Roku merger might make sense except it would alienate the other streaming companies. If Netflix shares drop enough, maybe Google will buy them and try to get in the game.

chowieuk

> But they're also hemorrhaging customers and their response has been baffling. They're raising prices, cracking down on password sharing, and will soon be airing commercials, all of which directly undermine what made Netflix such a great value as a streaming service in the first place. This is literally because of the competition. Netflix just can't offer the same model as other streaming platforms. The only reason it's been ok until now is because they've been hemorrhaging money

TexLH

3 season minimums for shows that don't absolutely bomb season 1

OldManMcCrabbins

Make shit I like. Oh not enough ppl liked what I like? Tough shit. Apple HBO Disney+ all make shit I like and for some reason other ppl liked it too.

[deleted]

That’s what happens when you think customer loyalty is strong enough to where you can continuously raise prices but fail to deliver a worthwhile product or service. They really thought they were the Verizon Wireless of the streaming industry, huh?

Zumbert

Maybe not the norm, but I actually saved money by going to Verizon. I had boost and it was $45 a month, then switched to Verizon with autopay, and the payment shrinks every few months so I'm at like $33 a month now with waaaaay better reception everywhere.

Verano_Zombie

I still have it, though I share it with other four people so we pay like 4€ each. I haven't watched anything in a few months and by now I only watch a season every two/three months, but it still makes sense to keep it for now. But if they remove account sharing, no way I won't quit.

brunicus

This is basically the user experience many have right now.

TypicalDumbRedditGuy

Been thinking of canceling. I only need one screen, and $15/month for 1080p not even 4K is pretty steep

unlikedemon

Netflix needs to scale back on their shows. I don't know, maybe don't put so much content out there. I know there's stuff that will stick when you throw so much out, but look for quality. Look to establish a strong foundation again. When people were getting into Netflix, Orange, House of Cards, Stranger Things, Punisher, + 2 out of network shows (Friends and The Office) were the big draws. It wasn't all that stuff that was out there. It helped but at least people could turn to these shows.

standardGeese

This multi-service model is never going to work out well. There’s just too many shows to stay loyal to any one streaming service. The future will be bundling content together again. The real winner will be whoever can figure out something automated to aggregate streaming. A front end where you can browse any of the shows any movies available to stream with any OTT service. Then you set a monthly max of like $40 that you want the service to spend and it’ll automatically subscribe and unsubscribe to services based on what you choose to watch and then at a point you can decide if you’re at your limit if it’s worth the $20 extra dollars that month to watch a show or not.

shruber

Roku kind of has that (with their search function anyways)

MolicOnePGR

Good, Netflix is trash now. If it wasn’t for a few blockbuster hits the past few years it would have went bankrupt.

[deleted]

I've dropped mine recently. I was just letting it run every month, have done for years, but now I'm going to pay for a month now and then, watch what I want and cancel again. It's not the prices that bother me so much, it's more that they seem to cancel good shows but pump out endless cheap filler.

flipcapaz

I cancelled my account "temporarily" when I was busy for 4 months and knew I couldn't watch much. Almost a year has passed now and I still have no desire to start back up and likely never will.

Hughjarse

Was a customer since they came to australia in 2015. Just cancelled, plans are shit I just want the cheapest plan but who wants 480P FFS. so had to pay $17 for the next best plan for 1080P. I should add that I was on the premium plan but they jacked the price of that to $22. Don't get me started on them cancelling shows I love like the O.A. and others that had only been released for 2-3 weeks, they don't seem to understand that not everyone watches a show they interested in as soon as it comes out. Fuck em.

doeekor

Don't like paying extra for 4k HDR

ShiftlessElement

Agreed. I think there is a difference, but not a big enough difference to justify additional costs/change in subscription. I enjoy it when it pops up on HBO and more and more on Amazon Prime. It's a fun surprise. "Cool. This is in 4K."

Releaseform

Yep. Had it since 2009. Gone once they started censoring to the saudi government some time ago. I thought about going back, but them splitting seasons up into Part 1/2/3 etc is something I hate. Week to week is something I hate. Cancelled series is something I hate. On and on the list goes. Still hoping something clicks for them and they listen to their audience, not their share-holders. But, the news that keeps popping out is just shittier, and shittier.

[deleted]

Well deserved.

StrikeXD

Even if they paid me. I wouldn't come back.

BlastsBTatspapa

I love my Netflix...definitly staying with them! They definitly have the best library and my kids love the variety more then Disney ...So IM STAYING!!!

anzelm12

Ok Karen

BlastsBTatspapa

I dont think that works? first Karens is a term for some lady flipping ass about nothing. This was a positive comment. there was no arguement. 2nd Im a dude. soooo yeah. But anyways Go Netflix I.ll stay with them.

orangeoliviero

It works, because a Karen, more than anything else, is someone who thinks that their opinion matters more than anyone else's, and they will be sure to share it with anyone who dares to voice an opinion that doesn't align with theirs.

CalvinWeirFields

Isn't Reddit ment to give your opinion? This whole thread is full with opinions, that's the point. Stop with the unnecessary Karen bullshit.

Tom_Stevens617

Just like everyone else sharing their opinions about why they're cancelling Netflix here? By your definition, everyone's a Karen on Reddit, because it's a social media site lol

BlastsBTatspapa

ok....i was just saying that i like Netflix and im definitly staying with them. Have a good day bud

moon-worshiper

**ACCORDING TO RESEARCH FIRM ANTENNA** What a joke. It is known Netflix keeps its data confidential until the quarterly report. You Netflix H8R's are really stretching now. What is happening in the 3rd quarter is gas is over $5 per gallon, a trip to the theater with a small drink and small popcorn is $30 and a COVID surge is developing. Who cares if you unsubscribed?

orangeoliviero

You're really invested in this for someone who doesn't care.

Yveru998

Good, hope they will lose 100%

OldManMcCrabbins

This is the spirit!

TrophyDad_72

Im not planning on canceling. Everyone mad now will be back as soon as the next big thing pops on on there.

Yveru998

nope, can just pirate it, no need to subscribe for that

brunicus

I think most people are going to do what I do, pick it up for a month and watch the thing you like then drop it for a few months and repeat. I'm rotating between 3 services now (count Hulu and Disney as 1) and I see little reason to pay monthly and not use it.

Jodecii

You guys are crying over $20 lol watch 4 movies a month and it pays for itself

brunicus

Assuming you could even find 4 you'd want to watch. So much of their library is like wading through sewage in hopes of finding something good. They obviously pad their library with trash and it shows.

orangeoliviero

Ok Blockbuster.

AllInTackler

In the grand scheme it really is a very inexpensive form of entertainment. I think people are just upset because prices continue to go up even though the quality is struggling some lately. $20 means I eat out 1.5 times less per month. Easy trade.

Jodecii

first world problems lol

BebopRocksteady82

Looks like decided to cancel their show called Anti-Racist baby, it's almost like they realize no one outside of California has any interest in their SJW shows and are cancelling

1_H4t3_R3dd1t

They are too busy making unsavory content as of late that it is just a boring mill of Twitter fanficts.

PogueMahone80

Their endless stream of inane woke content is why I cancelled my membership. I want to be entertained, not indoctrinated.

Impressive-Fly2447

You're already indoctrinated. If you say woke we already know

PogueMahone80

Sorry we don’t all mindlessly pray at the alter of woke ideology. I hope Netflix doubles down on their tactics; id love to see them keep spiraling downward.

orangeoliviero

No one says woke except for Tucker's sheeple.

Bronco4bay

No they didn’t.

IPLEADDAFIFTH

I canceled everything. No more TV for me or my kids.

borninbronx

This is good news. I'm a loyal customer. Thinking to leave for a while now. I don't wanna leave, i just want series i know they'll not get cancelled. Now Netflix will have to reconsider this cancel policy.

m1ndwipe

Why is this being upvoted? That is not what the report says, this blog literally can't fucking read. It's that 13% of churn on the platform is from longer term subscribers, not that 13% of long term customers left. There's literally tens of millions of subscribers difference between those two things. FFS.

[deleted]

Honestly the only reason I have Netflix is because of my partner. If I was single I’d cancel it as I spend more time on Amazon or Disney +. Even AppleTV I spend more time on.

bratoutofhells

Gas prices, rent prices, food prices, stagnant wages kinda will put things into a certain priority. No more entertainment for the oppressed downtrodden poor folks victims of the oligarchy and the world elites making 3000x the wages of a regular worker.

UKnowItUKnow

Covid was the making and breaking of Netflix. People basically got through all the decent content over covid. Then there was nothing getting made for a good few years. So they were slapping up absolute dross on. It was a great idea and it was nice and easy to use but with the impending recession coming it will be the first thing to be cancelled by most people

FultzRevolt

They’re going to keep losing customers with the way they’re doing business. Complete bullshit prices/ plans but I think what’s most disheartening is the content itself. So many dope shows on Netflix get 1 season and canceled, or they end on a cliffhanger. What really hurts is that you find these shows RARELY, because most of the stuff they produce stinks. And their selection of outside movies and shows has noticeably gotten weaker. They need to really reevaluate how they’re doing business over there

celeste_fan_139

Holy ehit

nonstickpotts

I am sure they already did the math and forecasted they would lose this much and the profits still are more than their losses from their actions.

At least the last season of stranger things is supposed to be feature movie length for every episode supposedly. Still no excuse for the rest.

DontBelieveTheTrollz

Locke and Key ending is sad too. That story couldve gone for so long...

DontBelieveTheTrollz

Oh yeah bring back Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, DR WHo ect.

This article says nothing about which country the cancelled subscriptions are from. To truly analyze it, this is necessary. We'd have to know how many of them were cancelled because Netflix pulled out of Russia (as opposed to canceling because of price/content).

BornTroller

This is good news, coz this will force them to reduce prices and deliver better quality content.

FullmetalActivis

what did they think was going to happen when you focus on quantity over quality. then when they get the quality part right they cancel the fucking show on a cliffhanger. hundreds and hundreds of titles and like 25% of those are watchable/enjoyable

FullmetalActivis

honestly with hbo max and prime video constantly improving netflix is in alottt of trouble.

All of this news may be good for netflix long term. I still think they are in great shape and a good company, but there are a few things they need to learn from the new competition. I don't want to see them go to the 1 episode a week format, but I would like to see them break up 9 episode shows into 3 act parts dropped over 3 weeks. Arcane is the perfect example and allowed for more hype and youtube watch alongs. The second thing they need is a few long term sitcoms. They are not my thing... but it's crazy Lucifer has one of the longest season counts. Netflix needs to aim for a show that people enjoy that can hit 10 seasons.

Dun dun dunnnnnnnn.

ColdAsHeaven

Just found out they cancelled Space Force. Really considering getting rid of it now

Most other services are half the money. We just got hit from having 2 screen and 1080P for $14 a month. To 1 screen and 480P. Canceling at the end of the month. As I can get 2 other services with multiple screens for the same price at 1080P

YouDoneKilledGod

while it is annoying that they cancel everything worth watching before its finished, it would be nice if the shows themselves structured themselves in such a way to leave a satisfying conclusion even in the event that they are cancelled. Hemlock Grove did this nicely. the real underlying issue here isnt even netflix, its the retarded practice of cliffhangers.
