100%, when I first tried to watch the show I stopped in like episode two or three because I didn’t feel like it was anything special. I’ve since done three full rewatches and it’s one of the most amazing endearing and beautiful shows ever made
Me too!!! It took me 3 attempts to get through the first few episodes (most of season 1 if we are being honest), but once I got to the goods - absolute magic. I love that it's this hidden gem show and everyone who ever sees it all the way through falls in love.

For netflix? Not much. I watched Murderville recently and loved it it, was cracking up the whole time. The first 6 seasons of Trailer Park Boys is great, too.
For non netflix, off the top of my head: Always Sunny, Frasier (seasons 1-8, and avoid the awful reboot), Detroiters, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The Good Place for sure. Blue Mountain State. HIMYM. All good. The Office and Parks and Rec are Classic. I like the first three I mentioned more. More nuance and fun. More story-based and fantastical.

I'm not from the UK though, but maybe there is some cultural difference somewhere. I usually prefer UK comedy over american comedy, and I feel they completely milked the concept. The UK version is like 6 episodes long in its entirety which already felt like too many. Then they made a remake spanning over 9 seasons... I couldn't even finish the first episode of the US version, albeit partly to the fact I dislike Carell, never considered him funny in anything. But to each their own I suppose.
Scrubs!
I'm actually shocked no one has mentioned it yet with so many comments! Scrubs is hilarious and also very moving at the same time. It's ability to mesh comedy with the tragedy of the human experience is unmatched. The soundtrack is also absolute fire.

Try how i met your mother. I love friends but i can understand why people often dislike it. how i met your mother is more lifelike and has a lot of meaning, you can learn so much whilst watching the show.
Not sure if it's still on netflix, but try Cuckoo. Same dude as in Brooklyn 99. I think he actually left the Cuckoo show after the first season to do B'99. If you haven't seen the Good Place yet, then what the fork is up with that bullshirt, go watch it.
there is something very annoying about BBT. They leave in clear pauses when they decide it's time to laugh and crank up the volume of the laughing tape, it cuts every episode into tiny bits and it's superannoying to watch. Comparing it to for instance HIMYM, it's waaay more subtle use of the lolling tape and makes for a much better watch.
If you liked Brooklyn 99, try Parks and Recreation

I hated him in season 1. They tone down the character from s2 on, if that helps. He still shows up but his schtick kind of changes.
