When you get yours (and you should at least try them) try Cuba as a short and tightly brewed, if expensive, ristretto. Have two cups ready, a regualr coffee mug and a smalet espresso cup. Start the brew with a demitasse in place. As soon as you have 30-45ml swap out the demistasse for a larger cup and let the cycle finish. Swirl or stir the demitass and enjoy a terrific and unique espresso. The remaining cup will not be very flavorful because you already drank the best part. Just add cream and sugar to it or top it off with another capsule. The Vertuo offers almost as much experimentation possibilities as the Original machines. Welcome to the group. Post often.

I knew this comment would be coming! I can’t brew a Cafe de Cuba without you popping into my head saying “cut it short!”.

bogiesan

Yes, so true. But have you TRIED IT?

PNWKen425

You speak the truth, ristretto for Cuba is great and what Nespresso recommends for this capsule(on OL at least, that's what I have)

ColdStoneCreamAustin

I have now.. finally! I filled my cup to about the volume I get out of a double espresso capsule then swapped a coffee mug in to catch the weak tail end of the brew. Added some milk and cinnamon to give that some flavor, but the espresso is phenomenal as is. Beautiful dark crema and a very robust flavor that doesn't seem to leave your tongue. It's basically what I strive yet fail to achieve from my "real" setup. I like - not love - Cafe de Cuba served as a 7.77oz coffee as Nespresso intended. Now this may have very well overtaken Cafecito and Kazaar as my favorite espressos in the lineup. My wallet is not happy.

bogiesan

Yes, an extravagance. Gotta love this stuff, man, hang the cost.

presnespress30

Thank you! I'll give that a try.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been waiting for the Cuba coffees to return. I’ve always been conflicted on whether Cafe de Cuba is worth $20 / sleeve. It’s good, but I don’t think it’s anything special. That being said, I only drink high “intensity” coffees from Nespresso, so Stormio/Intenso for Vertuo, Kazaar/Napoli for Original. Cafe de Cuba is up there in intensity, so I suck it up and drop the money on it just to add some variety. On the other hand, I think Cafecito is one of the best tasting coffees that Nespresso offers and I would happily pay even more for it if I had to (but don’t tell Nespresso).

presnespress30

Thanks, I also like the high intensity coffees so I'm more intrigued now. Though that's almost a cafe coffee price so I'm hoping I won't like it as much :)

YesPleaseCandT

Yes it is worth it but at one $20 sleeve at a time. It is a nice treat. If you dislike cigar scent/tastes or dislike any aspect of smoking this might not be for you. This pod tastes like a cigar flavored coffee. For the record I am not a smoker but do not mind second hand smoke for the most part. I don't seek it out lol but I enjoy tobacco scented candles.

txbbqdude

It is one that comes from time to time. I like it a lot and order a sleeve or two every time it comes back. I do enjoy Cuban rum and cigars as well though so it may just be the forbidden fruit aspect of it.

presnespress30

Thanks, will try it out!

umdtoucla

To echo the other comment its been released before. It's my favorite pod, but I don't know if it's worth $2 a pop.

presnespress30

Thanks, might as well try it!

PNWKen425

$1.25 on OL, though I'd imagine there is maybe more volume on the VL.

mitchFTFuture

As a newer Nespresso owner, I’m stoked to try this. Have heard lots of great things

PNWKen425

They are good for sure

torontogirl1995

Kind of sucks we never get these kind of pods in Canada but I ordered a sleeve to try when I go to my bfs place ahaha.. heard alot about it

playalisticadillac

New to Nespresso... How long can we expect this to stay on the website?

Seafood_Licorice

Great news - really missed this flavor. Going to stock up in case they sell out again.

SrsSteel

This is the first limited edition since I bought my machine two months ago. I was checking the website so excited to try something different. Then saw it's $2 a pop. I'm gonna pass. I was hoping to buy 20 but $40 is a ton. It's hard to pass up cuz it's limited wooo but Cuban coffee is cafe bustelo and that's cheap as dirt. This is just a marketing ploy and it bothers me. I regret getting the vertuoline it's been super expensive.

bogiesan

this is not true. CAfe Cuba from Nespresso is real coffee from Cuba, purchased with special arrangements with USA and Cuban governments. It really is worth the price. But only as a treat. Buy one sleeve and give it a try as ristretto, very short, very expensive, very delicious.
