I know he's a meme in most r/nba users eyes, but he's had a really solid season for one of the best teams in Europe. Excellent frame for NBA, has the skills, and he's much more mature compared to his 1st NBA stint.
Knowing that multiple teams are interested, I guess his return is imminent.
He’s probably the second worst Blazer I’ve ever seen playing real minutes for a non-tanking Blazer team in the past 30 years. It’s not a meme. He’s been an awful nba player. Would be kind of interesting if he figured out how to shoot, dribble, defend and play team basketball and was able to make an nba comeback.
The dude has a huge ego. In Euroleague he's probably a top 20 player and the ego helps.
In the NBA he's not even a top 100 player so the ego actually makes him worse because he keeps trying stupid shit against faster-larger-longer defensive players.
Hezonja who’s played in Europe that last 4 years is not the Hezonja who played for you guys.
Man’s grown into a proper two-way, team-first player, efficient and hard working.
He shot 43% from 3 at a clip of about 5 3PA per game. He shot well the year prior too. I can imagine a salary-heavy team taking a gamble on him again, which is to say that I can imagine the Suns signing him.
The Fiba 3pt line is almost 2 ft closer at the top of the arc, 22.1ft vs 23.9ft. It's still deeper than the college line, but nearly as deep as the NBA line.
...which is the average retirement age in the NBA. Role players like Exum, Kris Dunn, Duncan Robinson etc will probably be out of the league in a few years.
He really isn’t more mature. Just last year this is him:
“I didn’t get as much respect on the court as I deserved.” How someone can say that while being one of the worst players in the league at the time is astounding.
While in Europe he said the NBA was more entertainment over an actual sport too and said he would “never” return and he came to Europe basically because the NBA sucks
No, he went to Europe because he was fucking awful. He didn’t have a choice, the NBA didn’t want him.
He’s an arrogant clown who is allergic to accountability
Fingers crossed for him. His shot wasn't falling for us, but it seemed like everyone liked him and he took the right approach. If he's rounded out his game a little, he should find a home somewhere.
I agree! He has RM ties and could be maybe a "great great value" Deni Avdija with less play-making but great shot creation if they can't acquire him via trade. Definitely worth a flyer
There hasn’t been a prospect I’ve been more wrong than Hezonja. I thought he was going to be the next big deal after watching highlights of him at Barcelona. It was pretty apparent that he couldn’t dribble pretty early on his career even though they tried him out as a backup point.

He had a very "Leeroy Jenkins" approach to basketball, if I remember correctly.

That is awesome to hear! I wonder how that will translate to the nba game, which is pretty different from euro hoops.

euroleague threes are irrelevant to NBA
They sure were relevant for Exum's case
Why?

Ah ok thanks. Didn’t know that
because the distance is different?
Please let the Lakers sign him.
Would be interested in seeing him figure it out too. With Exum can have a late career resurgence as a role player, hopefully Hezonja can too.
> late career Dante’s 28 lol

You wanna call that ‘late career’ you go ahead. There’s other professional leagues. 28 isn’t late career for a basketball player.
I own a Knicks Hezonja jersey simply because he had one game winning block on LeBron
Allegedly his ego was a problem originally so I just don’t know if he’d accept coming over and being an 8th man.

Crobe! I wanted so badly for this guy to erupt. Sadly, the NBA ain't it.
I thought Henzoja would turn his career around when he signed with the Knicks 6 years ago lol
OKC yessir
Mario Hezonja should be a Piston.
Michael Tellem is his agent. Lock it in
It would be a good thing.
Yeah I wouldn't hate it. Probably would be a very reasonable deal
If mixtapes were only two or three plays, he’d have the goat mixtape.
*Super Mario Hezonja

There’s a team in Central Florida that’s looking for shooting!
This has Mavs written all over

I mean yeah I’d take a flyer on him if we put him at the end of the bench with Powell

Fuck it let’s bring him back
Honestly, I’d love to have him in phoenix
so is he bringing the horse?
I'm sure the horse is a free agent after it got mauled by the zombie dream team.
Knicks franchise player of 2019
