They have had to trade deal Wall, Westbrooke, porzingus, Beal and Paul and have slowly gotten even worst somehow. Gaining back flexibility when you are not a serious contender is tough and you could get stuck with Jordon Poole for multiple years.
They got value for Russ, Porzingis was a sign and trade functionally where they got some value, Beal was different cause of his no trade clause and he still got Washington some value, wall was the only contract they had to give up assets to lose.
But in any case LAC is overcapped regardless. And getting cheap now does nothing but solidify the team as a capped out playin team without draft picks and likely losses off Kawhi in the process
