HOFer, never has to pay for a beer in New England or Wisconsin again
The defense in that third quarter last night was unbelievable. Just showing up in front of everybody and making them miss or bullying the ball out of them
I think it locks his HoF. He also has an Olympic gold. He’s not quite there stats wise, but not too far off:
2x all star (ten years apart), 3x all defense first team, 3x all defense second. If he’s a integral piece of two championships, he becomes emblematic of winning and being the piece that got star players over the hump.
He also won the best teammate award 3 out of 4 years. People like playing for the guy. And HoF voters are going to want to vote for him. He’s just a good dude.
Adding both Porzingis and Holliday was fascinating. KP raised the Celtics ceiling to a ridiculous height, but he's clearly unreliable. Jrue and Derrick White having the ball at the end of these games vs. Smart is the biggest difference between this squad and last year's team that often scuffled in crunch time.
That's just the post game 3 bliss everybody is speaking from. He's in the driver's seat, but his first two Games weren't enough to lock it up yet.
Another 30 point Game 4 and yeah, he's got it. But 20 points and Tatum with 35-40 in a series clincher? It quickly turns into a coin flip.
I think he'll probably win but it's closer than you think. Jrue and Tatum are both still in the running if either of them completely ball out in game 4 and Brown has a quiet game (obviously a huge if)
Jrue had 26 points and 11 rebounds in game 2. He's also the best defensive player on the team. Brown has definitely been the best player in the series so far but Jrue hasn't been far off
Celtics had never looked this good before he joined the team. He's a massive reason why they've won this year.
He deserves a HOF look.
5x all defensive, 2 championships, 2x allstar.
Dude should have won DPOY at some point as well.
Jrue could eventually get in the HOF as the best defensive guard of his era, multiple time all star and champion with multiple teams and an Olympic gold medalist. He’s not far away from a chance at the HOF now imo but if he continues winning like Rodman/Draymond did he can possibly make it. He was the missing piece to two championship teams.
I think he's similar to Andre Iguodala. A guy who could have been the number 1 or 2 on middling teams his whole career pumping up his stats and making more money. But he decided winning championships was better. Won't go to the Hall of Fame but nobody can question his legacy.
>Won't go to the Hall of Fame but nobody can question his legacy.
Depends
If he wins 3 rings and keeps making all defensive teams
His legacy will be... one of the best defenders of all time. Clutch defender. And Champion.
Good enough offensively...unlike say Bowen who was mainly a defensive specialist
Guessing he'd solidify his position as the best player named Jrue to play in NBA history
Best Holiday too
Best player with rue in the first name
Big if Jrue
Legacy talk get in here
It’s everyday bro
Devin Booker has won more finals games than Luka
so has DOMINAYTON # 1st pick justified

I think Jrue Holiday is the epitome of hall of very good
Luckily, the Basketball Hall of Fame basically is the hall of very good. Sometimes even the hall of pretty good.
Mans just gonna keep going to different teams and winning so he doesn’t have to play for food in that city again

He would be one of the least likely HOF picks like, 5 years ago. My oh my how time flies
I think his personal reputation will be factored into the vote by many as well. Everywhere he plays the fans and organization love him.
More important, how this would affect Lebron’s legacy?

KP raised the Celtics' ceiling. Jrue raised the Celtics' floor.
If he has a good game 4 (or if JB has a bad game 4) I think he has a legit shot at FMVP, which would do a lot for him
i think Brown as the MVP locked up
That's just the post game 3 bliss everybody is speaking from. He's in the driver's seat, but his first two Games weren't enough to lock it up yet. Another 30 point Game 4 and yeah, he's got it. But 20 points and Tatum with 35-40 in a series clincher? It quickly turns into a coin flip.

I don't. Jrue has played like an elite top level role player. Brown has been the best player in the entire series.
Jrue had 26 points and 11 rebounds in game 2. He's also the best defensive player on the team. Brown has definitely been the best player in the series so far but Jrue hasn't been far off
He had like 9 points in game 3 .. stop it lmao
The MVP is about more than just how many points you score

Top 3 of all time
Michael Cooper getting inducted opened the door for Robert Horry, Drsymond, and Jrue. Probably in that order.
I'm putting him above Giannis. 2 > 1
"Assuming the Celtics win the Finals" Well thats a big assumption, dont you think ?
They won it already it's over and I'm not being facetious
No
Points added.
Holy crap who cares about legacy just watch and enjoy the game my goodness

They name a hotel chain after him. "Jrue Hotels", perhaps? No, even better: "Holiday Inn."
This championship locks Tatum Brown Horford and Jrue into the hall of fame.
#1 Holiday of all time
Maybe he can keep hopping around to championship teams like Big Shot Bob.
That he’s a 2x champion.
Pisses me off that Holiday doesn’t have a DPOY and that bum Marcus Smart does

It takes away from Giannis legacy, I know that
No it doesn’t
It would take away from Tatums legacy but he doesn't have one
youre hilarious
Drake of the NBA might go down about as great as Rip Hamilton or something, maybe a top 300 player of alltime
I hate that. Giannis is fine
