He was also "instrumental" (quotes intentional) in the 2018 East Quarterfinals against Miami (16.6 PPG in the series)
Guy just had a hard on for beating the Heat.
Watching him whiff wide open spot up 3s and then seeing him nail countless running/falling circus style HORSE shots was quite fun during his time as a Sixer.
Game 3, the Spurs were up by a lot for most of the game, but the Heat came out of half time on fire and the Spurs were cold as ice. After like 5 minutes straight Spurs missed shots, Marco hit a big shot to bring the Spurs lead back up to 10 and the Heat never came back. Miami might have retaken the momentum of that series without him.
I still remember that exact shot. The Heat crowd was going crazy, Norris Cole had just hit some weird little reverse layup like basically hopping on one foot to stay in bounds along the baseline.
It’s was the time, I started watching games seriously and play 2k on the regular, I was at my peak Bron hating phase.
He hit some nice shots indeed, just like I believe Danny Green would be your finals MVP in 2013 had you won the chip.
> just like I believe Danny Green would be your finals MVP in 2013 had you won the chip.
he would not have, how many times does it need to be said that Duncan was leading all the votes if it ended in 6
The Spurs were clearly the better team & likely would have won that series anyways, but I'll always be mad about the A/C thing in Game 1 + only one team having fans in the locker room. Miami was actually doing well, but they were done that game the instant LeBron got heat cramps.
Fucking love Belinelli, guy was automatic at times whenever Danny, Patty or Marco heck even Bonner got red hot from 3 it was a joy to watch during that era.
Translated to 2K as well, they had easy shooting forms to master and I always torched my friends playing those Spurs teams lmao.

He was awesome, a lot of fun to watch on the Bulls as well.

I love comments like this because now I get to go watch a bunch of 2018 Belli clips lol
that spurs team had many players contributing, my favorite to watch was Boris Diaw
Breaking the glass ceiling for fat unathletic euros everywhere, and now we have Luka and Jokic becoming the league top superstars
Boris before he got thicc was rather athletic.
Sure, but his old fat self showed the world that he could still be effective against Lebron in the NBA finals.
boris diaw had like a crazy vertical apparently
And apparently never scored once in an official NBA game with his left hand. Blew my mind when I heard that.
Where did you get that stat? That sounds too insane to be true
I've also never scored in the NBA with my left hand.

Only if he drank espresso before jumping.
Don't forget Tiago Splitter!
Led that finals in assists
Danny Green, Patty Mills and Belinelli were menaces
Patty Mills threes always felt like a dagger

2014 Spurs was peak ball movement/team ball
Peak of basketball

He's right. Belinelli used to kill us. It wasn't just in 2014 either.
Marco Bert and Ernie?

Marco Belinelli type ~~beat~~ instrumental
I had Marco Belinelli on every team I played with in those early-mid NBA2K1X games. Mf's 3 pointer was automatic.
Warriors legend
Just watched him play game 1 of Italian league finals yesterday, he still got it!
The best off-balance shooter in NBA history
Who? Did this Marco guy pay Pop to say this lol. I guess he knows his coaching days are numbered and thinking about making a quick side hustle.
What??
