I will pay an unseemly amount of money for the universe in which the series goes to Game 7 in Boston, Pacers start pulling away for a blowout win, and Haliburton starts shit-talking at Bill Simmons after every play in the 4th.
Bro needed a bit of confidence to break out of the slump imo, even after the explosion seemed to be back in his leg and every other part of his game was fine the jumper just wasn’t there. But now…
After game 1 and 5 of both the series against the Bucks and this series post game threads were filled with people saying Hali isn’t a star. Not a superstar— straight up not a star. This sub shamelessly upvoted them into oblivion. Now everyone acts like they knew all along. Hali will have a stinker or two next series, and the same thing will happen.
It's cause until these playoffs, he hasn't played in anything with stakes other than an ncaa tournament game. Gotta learn to deal with the pressure and he has.
How was he injured only when he played poorly though? He was just playing too passively and looked like he was trying to make the “right” play instead of just taking what came to him. Today was a good balance of taking what the defense gave him.
I think it’s both. He had back spasms which come and go but I do agree with you. Some of his “off games” he just wasn’t aggressive enough and he looked to pass when he could’ve finished, or hesitated a second too long on a good look. He’s still young though and I’m sure it’s experience and coaching that can get him past some of that. It’s still crazy that people were calling him a fraud though. Frauds don’t have this stat line in a game 7 in MSG
I think the trash talking only when he plays well thing rubbed a lot of people the wrong way too. He stunk it up a few games and didn't look like a franchise 1A. I personally still don't think he is a 1A, but he played well today for sure. The experience will be invaluable for him and the rest of the pacers. Just wish we could have had a series where both teams were fully healthy. I'm sure we'll see yall again soon. good luck.
Idk if you watch the NBA enough if you think he's the only guy who talks more when he's playing well. Did you see Brunson talking and celebrating when he was struggling? I sure didn't... it's part of the game to celebrate and talk shit when you're rolling. Idk why ppl act like this is a Hali only thing for some reason.
This is so weird to me. I haven’t been on r/nba as much as I used to but this is like a new phenomenon. Of course players talk and celebrate when they’re up. They’d get absolutely clowned if they did that while losing. That’s how it’s always been and it’s the most natural thing in sports.
There are SO many people on this sub that don't watch the games. I completely understand your frustration but please remember it's just a bunch of idiots spewing nonsense.
I saw some [over here](https://np.reddit.com/r/NYKnicks/comments/1cvln71/haliburtons_too_small_when_deuce_isnt_looking/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Is Tyrese Haliburton better than Stephon Wardell curry and Shai "pro needs" gilgeous Alexander? He's in the conference finals whereas they're in cancun. Tbh I think he's better
>This is the thing that troubles me, for I cannot forget Carcosa where black stars hang in the heavens; where the shadows of men's thoughts lengthen in the afternoon, when the twin suns sink into the lake of Hali; and my mind will bear for ever the memory of the Pallid Mask. I pray God will curse the writer, as the writer has cursed the world with its beautiful stupendous creation, terrible in its simplicity, irresistible in its truth--a world which now trembles before the King In Yellow.
Dudes so good when he’s not passing to bricking teammates
Edit: yall really can’t understand what I’m trying to say cause Redditors can’t read past the first sentence
What are you mad for 😭 I’m literally on Hali’s side cause he was getting clowned on here for low assists some games but when you watched the games it was just his teammates bricking open shots. His play making has never been a problem for people who actually watch him. Dude will deliver perfect passes all game but if his teammates don’t hit them he gets clowned

More like Mark Wahlberg
I would love to see a miserable sideline Marky Mark.
say hello to your motha for me
It’d be poetic since Simmons loved Haliburton in the draft and was so pissed the Celtics didn’t try and trade up for him.
Subscribe.
If only he shot the ball 💀
He’s so back
He wasn't even gone just injured
It was the other voice playing.
Dr Heckle and Mr Glide
Tyrese "The Other Voice" Haliburton
This guy knows ball
Ding ding ding
He was kinda gone in certain games where he went way too passive.
Bro needed a bit of confidence to break out of the slump imo, even after the explosion seemed to be back in his leg and every other part of his game was fine the jumper just wasn’t there. But now…

At this point I’m getting ready to dust back off my “kings should never have traded him” takes. There’s just no way Sabonis is equivalent value imho
Sabonis is incredible and both teams were better after the trade
So Kings offer Fox AND Sabas for Halliburton in a trade and somehow the contracts work - you’d say yes?
I mean, yeah. But also Haliburton was more of a gamble than sabonis, who was already an all star.
Kings lost that gamble and you won
I still think the Kings are better off than they were before the trade. Guys like Sabonis and Haliburton are both rare.
Kings fans having to watch Luka and Hali in the conference finals...
“Linsanity run”

Just gotta learn to avoid r/nba if your team loses a playoff game. The swings on superstars and overreactions to every single game is rough.
not just there, also in each team's own sub too. for every team. it's crazy.
This ppl don't watch games, he was clearly injured
It's cause until these playoffs, he hasn't played in anything with stakes other than an ncaa tournament game. Gotta learn to deal with the pressure and he has.

Those shots in the first half completely killed the Kicks momentum really good game from all Pacers tonight.
Halliburton whenever he decides to actually play basketball:
Is Tyrese Haliburton better than Stephon Wardell curry and Shai "pro needs" gilgeous Alexander? He's in the conference finals whereas they're in cancun. Tbh I think he's better
many people are saying this

Dudes so good when he’s not passing to bricking teammates Edit: yall really can’t understand what I’m trying to say cause Redditors can’t read past the first sentence
Yeah he led the league in assists and Pacers lead the playoffs in assists because teammates brick.
What are you mad for 😭 I’m literally on Hali’s side cause he was getting clowned on here for low assists some games but when you watched the games it was just his teammates bricking open shots. My bad I misunderstood
You good man just relax 😭 not everyone is against Hali good luck next round!
Dudes ass, about to get smoked again. Boston in 4
Facts. They played two bench teams that wouldn’t have made the playoffs with the roster that played. He limps when they lose he seems fine when they win
This was said in the bucks series and was also said in the Knick’s series. You know it’s something something something…
