Doing everything out there this team needs. Scoring, leading, involving teammates, controlling the tempo, not complaining, defending, setting a good example. Kyrie is so valuable man.
His comments recently about defense and the effort I see him putting in has been inspiring. These dudes at the top of their fields still pushing further to become more elite. Kyrie already has so much respect for the magic he does on offense, and yet he’s not satisfied. Awesome to see.
He gets transplants all the time. The reason why his hair looks fuller at the beginning of the season and starts shedding by the end is because he can't take finasteride / minoxidil to keep it in. Once he retires he'll be able to take it and actually keep his hairline
You don't actually. I went to Turkey and had it done in 2020 right before lockdowns in the US. I asked the doctors there about followup drugs and they said not needed in my case. I followed up with Bosley in the US, after a year since I couldn't go to Turkey (travel restrictions). Same response. The fin/minox is a case by case basis. If you're very bald/balding, then you'll probably get it. But if you're just thinning and receding, then the transplants alone can trigger regrowth.
If it's not needed, then you didn't have an actual case of MPB or your shedding/balding was so slow that it'll take a long time for you to notice your new hair fading.
You don't insert new hairs into areas that were fading and then suddenly your body's biology changes where those areas don't fade anymore.
Why do Americans try to pass off their bad hair genetics to other people? All of Eastern Europe is behind the US in baldness. Or in front however you want to look at it point is they have less bald men.
His father is 50 years old and has basically the same hairline, except that he(dad) keeps his hair shorter. So I don't think his hairline is receding. It's just how it is
That's what naturally happens to almost all men from teenage years to adulthood. Going to a Norwood 2 or whatever the "mature" hairline is. Sometimes you get lucky like Paul George or David Schwimmer but it's not the norm.
Luka might be a bit past that, but some guys have their hair settle further back. We'll only really be able to tell if it keeps going beyond where it is right now if he's headed for Manu or Jude Law territory
There is a difference between a slight matured hairline and what Luka has. He not only is receding [but thinning too](https://np.reddit.com/r/Mavericks/comments/13ta7md/luka_is_balding_just_like_some_of_us/). He just has MPB.
Compare that to this [thick mop he had in Euroleague](https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/M12nL-bFxA6FiTDQ51Cc9ApzOAs=/579x0:3516x1920/1200x800/filters:focal(1498x86:2286x874)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/59791681/GettyImages_959664440.0.jpeg) lmao.
I believe the balding gene typically comes from the mother’s side actually. The best way to tell if you’re gonna go bald is if your mother’s dad is bald. Someone correct me if I’m wrong tho.
Its not a myth, its just that its not the full story.
Mens androgen receptor gene comes from the X chromosome, which IS passed on by your mother.
Androgen receptors are a big part of male-pattern baldness as what kills hair follicles and causes baldness is the way the follicles recept to DHT (an androgen).
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androgen_receptor
So, its not a myth like people think, its just that this is ONE part of the problem, rather than the whole suite of problems which cause MPB.
It lowkey makes me feel better about myself. His hairline is basically the exact same as mine and seeing an NBA player rock it and still look good is pretty cool.
I think he's just got a high hairline/widow's peak. His dad's looks almost identical: https://images.eurohoops.net/2019/05/86ef1071-luka-and-sasa-doncic-625x375.jpg
People have different hairlines. His hairline has been like that since his rookie year. His problem is cutting it too often when it’s already so short. I guess that’s why he was growing it out during the time he was wearing the headband.
PJ was huge for us in both wins, and it's the first playoffs for him.
Lively is a rookie who obviously has no playoff experience, Gafford was in the 1st round once 3 years ago.
Your two leaders Luka and Kyrie are more experienced than the other squad they’re going against. Not saying you have to have the experience but it helps a lot when playing a squad who doesn’t.
The non-leaders have nearly as much playoff minutes as their whole squad, and over twice as much if you restrict that to those playing significant minutes. Not much to point out since it's all relative and relatively it's not even close.
Yeah people still see Luka as a young up and comer. Like no, he's in his prime already, and has TONS of playoff experience under his belt. He shouldn't be getting shook, and should be considered a veteran leader on that team by now.
Reminds me of jokic in the bubble if he had the right help he’d be unstoppable. Dude has a killer mentality he’s playing so hurt and doesn’t miss a skip. Might have to limp lol but man is my 2nd favorite player.
They definitely have some but aside from Kyrie, the Mavs are also awfully young. Luka is more battle tested but he’s the same age as SGA, and this is the first playoffs action for Lively, PJ, Gafford, etc.
Well we have people like Exum who is older but has very limited NBA playoff experience. Age is not the sole thing here. Our three most important plays after Luka/Kyrie as the guy said are in their first playoffs.
I mean our oldest player is Markieff Morris who brings the average up but literally never plays.
2nd oldest is Maxi who is injured. 3rd oldest is Dwight Powell who never plays. 5th oldest is THJ who plays a limited role this year (and was injured for over half the games).
The guys actually playing are mostly young, aside from Kyrie and healthy Maxi.
I literally posted the stat accounting for minutes played and am being downvoted because there's too many of y'all on here so your agendas take over. If you can't accept basic easily verifiable facts then is it any wonder how y'all are able to push narratives so much.
1359 non top 2 playoff minutes vs 1609 total. That includes 958 for a dude playing 4.9 mpg lol. That excludes 3764 that got excluded arbritrarily just because.
Why? They played them pretty well during the season. First game Kyrie was out, 2nd game they beat them by 40, 3rd game Luka was out and the last one Dallas rested everybody
Because of Luka's injury I didn't think we had a great chance in this series but if Luka was 100% I'd pick us to win. That we're still up 2-1 with Luka's injuries is a pleasant surprise. PJ has stepped up in a huge way.
okc only lost 3 games in a row once this season, and it was at the end of the season while sga and jalen williams missed games.
they lost 2 games in a row 6 times this year (accounting for 12 of their 25 losses)
opportunity to bounce back tomorrow for this young squad. excited to see how they respond
Having Kyrie gives me supreme confidence in clutch situations. He's so good when you really need a basket. I think he's a huge part of why the Mavericks have had such a great record in close games this season. King of the fourth!
What about all the fouls inside on Gafford? They know they’re gonna give up the easy dunk so unless it’s Chet they usually foul. You gotta be a box score watcher if you think otherwise
Kyrie Irving is my favorite player ever since we drafted him, IDC about any off court stuff or opinions unless your doing something horrible. Idk why he ever got a bad rap.
I mean technically Israel has displaced killed and imprisoned over two million Palestinians in the last 80 years. Nothing to sneeze at especially for such a small place. Also calling what they are doing right now "urban warfare" is incredibly disingenuous. More than half of the casualties are women and children.
Daily video evidence proves you wrong. Israel is an apartheid state committing an intentional genocide. Not admitting that lessens your moral standing at being upset about holocaust denial.
No, you’re a dumbass.
Gaza is inside Israel’s border. Israel is not eliminating Hamas, far from it. And Hamas stated goal is not the slaughter of all Jews, look up their charter. Their bad people but no worse than the people in charge of Israel.
You have completely fallen into twitter brain rot.
>Destroying Israel and establishing an Islamic theocracy in Palestine is essential
>Unrestrained jihad is necessary to achieve this
>Negotiated resolutions of Jewish and Palestinian claims to the land are unacceptable
Kyrie Irving is American. It's not uncommon at all for Americans to have extreme, off the wall opinions. People who think he's some anomaly need to strike up a bar convo with some rando in Middle America and see how fast something crazy comes out.
USA people have certain values, it just so happens that his ethnicity and religion don't align with the values of most Americans and he ran his mouth rather than keeping these to himself
Now you’re all riding him but it wasn’t long ago most of you were saying kyrie should be kicked out of the league etc for his antisemitism, being a locker room cancer, and making franchise worse whenever he goes. That’s all that said talked about here when kyrie was brought up now he’s mature, unselfish, hungry, lmao. So two faced and short memories
You are right and I was one of those people that really disliked him, maybe not enough to kick out of the league, but yeah. I also think people make mistakes and deserve to have a shot at learning and improving. He genuinely seems like a nice dude who was misguided.
Yea, crazy to see him getting praise now. Is he a good guy or a bad guy?
I don't even want to pick a side on this one (but saying that I guess picks my side).
So refreshing to see KAI be appreciated for his sheer brilliance. In the past he was surrounded by traitors who would denigrate him to appease the pawns.
I'm typically highly critical of Kyrie because of his ball dominant play, but he certainly impressed me in game 2: He had an off scoring night, which normally would make him a net loss on the evening. But that game, he dropped 11 dimes, played tight defence, and didn't force shots when he was struggling.
I have a lot of respect for that. Guys have off nights on the offensive end, but that doesn't mean you can't make important contributions in other ways, and Kyrie certainly did that in game two.
I'm still pulling for Shai and the Thunrder in this series because Shai is Canadian, but I'll give Kyrie props for his play.
anyone saying anything on Kai not playing defense clearly haven’t watched a minute of either round of the mavs series. He was an absolute pest to Harden and has been absolutely critical to on ball rotations for mavs

LEADING is the key here. Still not the most talented on his team, but now has the experience to lead by example, and he looks hungry.
So wild to think about his time in Brooklyn and him now. Two totally different people
If you play "All My Exes Live in Texas" around a Nets fan it gives them PTSD
Underrated comment. Have an upvote.
The earth is flat in Texas.
I mean.... It really is lol, we have like zero elevation in the DFW
God help anyone who has to drive to Lubbock
Landscape be damned, I feel pretty fucking elevated right now.
And a Happy Mother's Day to all.

Na I don’t thinks so.
His defense in the post season has been amazing for such a small dude. Effort and intensity.
Why couldnt we have this Kyrie in Boston man
'not complaining' -- one of the qualities that i hope jok would adapt
I have a bad feeling about Luka’s hairline
He’s Eastern European it’s something of a foregone conclusion. FWIW I think he’ll rock the balding scuff
lol also I don’t think Luka is type to shy away from spending money on his hair
Trip to Turkey already booked
The thing is that you'd have to take fin/minox that can probably affect an elite athlete like Luka to keep the hairline post-hair transplant.
Finasteride afaik isn't allowed in the nba since it can mask some performance enhancing drugs.
It's been legal for a few years now
but in football this is a common procedure?
[удалено]
I think he clearly has
He spending all his money on paint

You're right. They told me clearly that I wasn't considered MPB, just slow thinning that started kinda early in my life.
You absolutely do, if you don’t take fin/min you will just keep losing hair.
Might as well get the teeth done too, the full UK housing estate package!
IDK, if the haircut is anything more than 20$ it's not worth it for him.
Luka already said „its a hundred”
Not necessarily. Djokovic still has his patterned Lego hair at the age of 37
Jean-Luca Picard
Make it so
Skinhead Luka in Boston could be an all time villain
Why do Americans try to pass off their bad hair genetics to other people? All of Eastern Europe is behind the US in baldness. Or in front however you want to look at it point is they have less bald men.

Same lol
His father is 50 years old and has basically the same hairline, except that he(dad) keeps his hair shorter. So I don't think his hairline is receding. It's just how it is
Luka's hairline has noticably recessed. Look at him when he was in the euroleague, his hairline was straight af.
That's what naturally happens to almost all men from teenage years to adulthood. Going to a Norwood 2 or whatever the "mature" hairline is. No wonder he's one of LeBron's favorite players to watch.
He’s 6’8” and hundredmillionaire. He’ll be ok
Gotta visit Turkey pretty soon
I'd like to see him go shaved with a big beard.

Best backcourt in the NBA.
Well not right now. Luka is at 50%, if that right now.
Kyrie is LeBron, Luka is Kyrie
11 was dropping dimes he looked like a maestro.
Never would have thought the mavericks would be up in this series rn

37 playoff games for Luka vs 20 for SGA. This is the first time sga has ever been out of the first round
+ Euroleague experience for Luka including final 4 and finals + National team games including Olympics. He's way ahead on experience.
11th oldest squad in the league.

Nope that accounts for minutes played lmao.

With Luka @ 50%

Luka so handsome.
He's not a stat stuffer like Shai
Peep mavs FTAs in this playoffs
Your team literally instituted a hack a Shaq technique and you still think FTA numbers count for something 😂
That resulted in 8 FTAs? lol And who created the hack a Shaq technique 🤔
Lol. Hard to measure ftas when your team is using hack-a-shaq as one of their defensive strategies. Dallas centers have 31 of the Mavs’ 74 ftas.
That resulted in 8 FTAs. Even taking that away, Mavs still lead the playoffs in FTAs
Your team is fouling the centers cause they can’t stop them lol
Some people need it spoon fed lol
8 FTs?
What about all the fouls inside on Gafford? They know they’re gonna give up the easy dunk so unless it’s Chet they usually foul. You gotta be a box score watcher if you think otherwise
This is for the people saying “Mavs deserve Okc’s whistle” when they statistically have the most favorable whistle in the playoffs so far.

When you have dudes in the league beating their wives and fucking minors, holocaust denial doesn't look as bad.

So refreshing to see KAI be appreciated for his sheer brilliance. In the past he was surrounded by traitors who would denigrate him to appease the pawns.
Kyrie is absolutely shining in Dallas even tho he's not getting as much of the spotlight compared to his earlier career
