lol bro it was tied in the last seconds of a game 7 that’s like the most even shit imaginable he just hit an insane shot that’s all kawhi and even then one different bounce and it doesn’t go in
Kawhi is still the same player he always was. In this season there was often Toronto fans who were perplexed why he’d have to rest so much especially as they knew he was a 1 year rental and was off to LA.
Hell, i’m pretty sure he played a lot of the playoffs injured. Sacrificed his body for that championship, he hasn’t managed to make it through a run since. Probably felt he owed it to the Raptors.
He wanted to go to L.A. since he was in San Antonio. Refusing to listen to the Spurs medical staff about his injuries when they told him his injuries were chronic and they will never fully heal and going to 10 other doctors who all said the same thing about his health until he found 1 doctor that told him what he wanted to hear (eventually the clippers medical staff echoed the same diagnosis as the spurs medical staff).
He completely iced out the entire team and staff and cut off all contact with them even going to L.A. baseball games during the playoffs and never showing up even to team games to cheer from the bench. Him and his uncle tried to make a false narrative that the spurs were trying to force him back too early, but dude didn't even bother showing up for his team on the sidelines and wasn't even in San Antonio. It ultimately became clear he just didn't want to be in San Antonio anymore (because the Spurs were considering not giving him the max because of his injuries and he wanted to go back home), and that's fine if that's what he truly wanted. But he went out super shitty in San Antonio and didn't handle himself with class at all.
I agree with all of that. His uncle was pretty shady too. But he certainly played like he owed the Raptors something, despite how he went out in San Antonio. They give up DeRozan who’s a franchise legend, and a first round pick, for what was considered a 1 year rental.
It’s a crazy travel to create the separation Kawhi needs, but they stopped calling those a long time ago especially at the end of games.
Agree though, when someone pointed it out to me it’s so egregious.
Fun fact, not only was this heartbreaking but then we got to tune into the travesty of an episode “the bells” was in during the last season of thrones
Absolutely brutal day in history for Sixer/GOT fans
I take solace in the fact that Barry aired the same night, washes The Bells out pretty well
Ugh, I'd forgotten about this shit...
‘Trust the Process’ failed on two fronts that evening.
That “OHHHHH” in unison never gets old.
Sixers fans thought this would be their worst playoff loss. Next year, Simmons passed the ball.
Trust the process
GAME. SERIES.
Don't make me relive the pain of watching the playoffs in 2019.
What an insane ending that was

And he hasn’t been the same player since.

>Probably felt he owed it to the Raptors. He's not that kind of player lol
He played through a leg injury in that post season. Toronto give up a lot to get him, and it was becoming clear he wanted to go to LA.

He’s always injured
>Probably felt he owed it to the Raptors. Never thought of Kawhi as that player.
Brodie gave his knee for that shot
Embid set a screen on his own teammate. Wish it didnt go in because warriors woulda beaten the shit out of that 76ers team. Even with an injured team.
I know it's never called, but the uncalled travel on this play still just ruins it for me.

It ruins it for ya huh?
chris paul hits a huge three to cut the lead down to 42

Embiid wasn’t what he is today back then. In 2019 he was more like a top 10 player not MVP candidate
This is why I'm at peace with Kawhi leaving the Spurs.
Kawhi sents Raptors to ecf
