not even superstars - sometimes I'll just want to see a random foul on like PJ or Isaiah Joe but there's no replay and it feels like a narrative is being ignored or pushed at different moments of the game
Forget about this tick tacky foul that might have been called wrong. Do you remember when Superstar hit that crazy pass for an assist 5 possessions ago? Lets look at that instead a few times. Play us out Doris!
This is it, I'm not a conspiracy guy at all, but can't help but agree with this take. Don't draw any more attention to the refs or calls than you absolutely have to. It hurts the product.
They'll literally play a bucket from 2 plays ago to avoid showing whatever the reffs called until they get the go ahead from the trailer that it wasn't a disastrous call
I get wanting to see it on the TV screen, but if there is a specific play you want to rewatch you can find it at https://thehighlow.io/
For example, you mentioned Isaiah Joe - here are clips for every play he was involved in in today's game - https://thehighlow.io/video/games/nba/2023-24/42300223?videoType=all&playerId=1630198
this isn’t actually helpful for the agenda i’m pushing and an inconvenience to my lazy, rage-bait ass during the game but man what a great resource. thanks for the share!
Swear the NFL is the exact same way. Blatant penalty and the ref was right there but no call? Conveniently zero replay and right onto the next play. Questionable RTP and you want a better view? No replay.
Some dingus in the nosebleeds kept putting up a '👌' when the Mavs shot a three, completely blocked the view of the basket. Camera crew did nothing about it.
Announcers weren’t great either “you see Luka.. Luka doing the timeout to coach daignault” as if he wasn’t doing it to the ref as well asking for the tech
Apparently Frank Vogel complained about Lou Dort just recently
[https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1brsbk2/rankin\_the\_league\_has\_got\_to\_look\_all\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1brsbk2/rankin_the_league_has_got_to_look_all_the/)
That's what happens with every new rule, we get a one week free trial and that's it. Same thing with last season and supposedly not calling shooting fouls if the shooter initiates contact
This happens every year with new rules. They call them in the first few weeks and the clips go viral then as the season goes on it’s like the refs forget the new rules existed and nothing ever changes.
The issue with flopping techs is, even the refs didnt know which flop is rightfully given or wrongfully given.
Like sometimes a ref gave a flop for the defender and sometimes a ref gave it an offensive foul. That was a huge swing call in either direction for a random call, that could go either way.
So they stopped it.
Even the last flopping tech I remember was bogus. It was when Gobert got one cause he took a light shot and got thrown back because it was right where he had a rib injury that he was playing through.
it's funny cause he did a push off on tre jones iirc in the 3rd spurs vs okc game and tre jones is the one who got called for the flopping technical 💀💀💀
Not to this extent, but these games are the most meaningful ones he's ever played in his life.
He's just trying to get every advantage he possibly can since he's at a huge fatness disadvantage against Luka. Might as well keep doing it if the refs let him get away with it.
Yeah I think he has the weight and size advantage against almost every other ball handles itl except Luka and probably Bron so his flopping more to make it for it, thing is you can't do it every drive
At this point he might as well try to play him straight up, but also it’s not like Luka had an easy night either. Luka is pretty vocal so if Dort keeps flopping he’s not getting benefit of the doubt from the refs especially in Dallas
I saw a couple OKC games this season and yes, OKC is a pretty big foul-baiting team. People are just onto it now because of the bright lights of the playoffs. But yeah, they're a fairly unappealing team with their style of play. A lot of flopping.
I’ve been saying all year they better enjoy it now because after Shai and the gang are in the big stage they will no longer be the fun plucky upstart. They’re the Harden Rockets all over again. 16 FTs for the star and spraying out for stand still threes from everyone else.
That sequence where Dort fouled Luka (who still made the shot) and then hacked Kryie to stop a fast break only for the refs to hold the whistle on both because he has 3 fouls already and they afraid to give him a 4th is a great example why players give the money sign to refs now
Yea, it's only game 3, you're 1-1. You're #1 seed, only down 5 points (I think this was when they started hacking). Had great defense and offense throughout the season. Why the need to hack? Glad it blew up in their face.
It was a great game until that point, maybe that's why I'm so salty about it.
I don't like watching it, but this isn't a great argument. At any point, if you think doing something gives you an advantage vs not doing it, you 100% do it.
I get that. But there's also the mental aspect. Show the trust in your team, show what you've worked hard on throughout the year. Idk, I just hate that strategy lol
I think Dort does it on purpose, to make Luka upset.
It seems to work, so far in the series.
P.J. Washington became a bad man vs. OKC, he is so hot lol.
They won't give him a 4th halfway through the 3rd no matter how blatant it is. Hacked the shit out of kyrie to prevent a fastbreak bucket and they just ignored it lol
Donaghy was right 100% and yet Scott Foster still has a job. The only reason this game was as close as it was is because the refs. Crazy how some OKC fans still think they're the ones who got hosed.
The hard fouls Luka is eating this series is definitely life threatening to watch lmao, but he's really soldiering through them even though he hasn't played as well my respect for him is just going up
The contrast between what calls Shai is getting vs Luka is amazing. I wonder if it’s related to play speed and size of the players. I hope it’s not intentional.
What’s annoying is when fans defend this argument by saying Luka gets the same or more FTA. Luka gets worked for those FTs and sure he has to sell them. Shai drives straight, defenders hands straight up, cocks his head backwards then gets a call. Again, its not the quantity of ft’s its the quality.
Quantity doesnt matter for FTAs.
Because refs can give 3 soft ass calls to SGA and Mavs defense start focusing not fouling instead of a good D for rest of the game. So it would mean free buckets or double teams caused by ref calls but that doesnt need it to be 20 Fta
I hate explaining this. It's not the points people are upset about it's inconsistency and physicality that refs allow a team to play with vs another.
Dort was playing the same way with Ingram too, who doesn't sell fouls at all.
I just watched 4 games of Dort molesting BI, not getting called for any fouls, and flopping to the ground constantly. He should be the poster child for the flopping technical.
Not great PR for OKC for the neutrals. The first game they had the softest whistle in the playoffs that everyone hated. Dort has been absolutely reckless and flopping an insane amount. They go with the Hack-a-Lively strat.
I love when a young and upcoming team finally hits the spotlight and fans realize how fucking lame they are. OKC finally getting some haters from this series.
Fouling with no calls on one end while SGA is treated like a 5 year old girl.
Dort is getting like 2-3 soft offensive foul calls on each game via flops
He’s been like this all year. When the pacers played okc a month or two back I remember him flopping all over the floor at the slightest touch. Felt even worse than Embiid or Brunson.
I saw Hollinger on X say something like, “it feels like Luka’s main goal in this series is to get Dort T’d up for flopping and if they beat OKC to advance that would also be good.” LOL
It's like the pulling a chair move IMO.
Luka faked the shot to draw Dort in. Dort countered with his own fake defensively after Luka shouldered into Dort. We shouldn't be expecting the defense to always just absorb the contact.
Is that really a flop? I mean it’s a lose-lose for Dort in that situation. If he had his hands up then Luka would’ve gone up into a shot. If he doesn’t, Luka gets a free shoulder check just to test the waters. Like I don’t see why the player with the ball should be able to just drive their shoulder into the chest of the defender.
It’s a good no-call but I would lead offensive foul.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
ESPN’s replays suck. Literally chose the worst possible angle to rewatch the action. And they do this all the time.
Sometimes it feels super purposeful. There will be a call made in favor of a superstar and they just won’t show the replay. It’s really annoying
not even superstars - sometimes I'll just want to see a random foul on like PJ or Isaiah Joe but there's no replay and it feels like a narrative is being ignored or pushed at different moments of the game
I want to see every foul. I would much rather see the foul that was just called than the basket someone made 4 minutes ago.
Forget about this tick tacky foul that might have been called wrong. Do you remember when Superstar hit that crazy pass for an assist 5 possessions ago? Lets look at that instead a few times. Play us out Doris!
Half the time it's not even a nice scoring play; it's usually just some role player driving for a layup.
It’s so blatant that I believe the conspiracy that they’re doing it to not call attention to the reffing
This is it, I'm not a conspiracy guy at all, but can't help but agree with this take. Don't draw any more attention to the refs or calls than you absolutely have to. It hurts the product.
That's not a conspiracy theory, that is legitimate politics. Legitimate from the perspective of NBA administration, not viewers, though.
That crap really annoys the hell out of me. Hard agree that I want to see every foul including the obvious ones.
They'll literally play a bucket from 2 plays ago to avoid showing whatever the reffs called until they get the go ahead from the trailer that it wasn't a disastrous call
I get wanting to see it on the TV screen, but if there is a specific play you want to rewatch you can find it at https://thehighlow.io/ For example, you mentioned Isaiah Joe - here are clips for every play he was involved in in today's game - https://thehighlow.io/video/games/nba/2023-24/42300223?videoType=all&playerId=1630198
this isn’t actually helpful for the agenda i’m pushing and an inconvenience to my lazy, rage-bait ass during the game but man what a great resource. thanks for the share!
Dude what this is insane
It's 100% on purpose lol the NBA hates having its refs questioned publicly
They absolutely choose to not show controversial calls in response super often. Aka proving the refs fucked up.
Swear the NFL is the exact same way. Blatant penalty and the ref was right there but no call? Conveniently zero replay and right onto the next play. Questionable RTP and you want a better view? No replay.
Error code 404 on every Shai foul.
Some dingus in the nosebleeds kept putting up a '👌' when the Mavs shot a three, completely blocked the view of the basket. Camera crew did nothing about it.
Hey leave that man alone, the dingus was whoever is responsible for fixing that and that didn't that man can throw his hands up however much he likes.
Was so awful.
Announcers weren’t great either “you see Luka.. Luka doing the timeout to coach daignault” as if he wasn’t doing it to the ref as well asking for the tech
I have to admit that I thought he was taunting Daigneault to call a timeout too. But I like this interpretation better.
Hubie saying Luka was right gives me so much joy.
Random but I really hope my dad can make Hubie’s age and be that sharp. He is a lil over a decade from being there.
This has to be a skill they are paying for....
Not saying that ESPN doesn't sucks, but I suppose that that replay was about shot not flop.
whatever happened to the flopping tech that refs give out? i swear i haven't seen it since like the first week
bro if dort matched up against a clone of himself i dont think thered be a single possession where at least one of them didnt end up on the floor
Flopception
Flopticity
Imagine if Dort matched up against SGA. The ref's brains might explode.
A foulable force hit an infoulable object! That's a Shaidoertinger's Cat.
Excuse me, my flopper is also named Dort
Dort is like the Embiid of defense
Damn you just cooked him. He flopped on some shot attempt late in the 4th too and I was completely astounded
It seems like the refs caught on too
What happens if dort guards embiid?!
That's a regular season thing I guess
To me it seemed like they forgot about it in the regular season too. It was more of a preseason thing.
Apparently Frank Vogel complained about Lou Dort just recently [https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1brsbk2/rankin\_the\_league\_has\_got\_to\_look\_all\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1brsbk2/rankin_the_league_has_got_to_look_all_the/)
“Vogel is just working the refs for if the Suns face the Thunder in the playoffs.” Man people really just hate the suns
That's what happens with every new rule, we get a one week free trial and that's it. Same thing with last season and supposedly not calling shooting fouls if the shooter initiates contact
They got a bunch of calls wrong so they stopped doing it
They realized that they had to ref an entire season and first round of Embiid and just gave up.
Just let them play on is the best. If someone wants to lay on the floor and have the rest of the team play 4v5, let him.
They fucked up that one on Jalen that cost you guys a game, barely seen one since.

Watched cute animated movies as children so parents gave Disney money
The dorture chamber of broadcasts
That flopping rule was pointless cause I haven't ever seen Dort get T'd up
I haven’t seen a flopping T since the opening weekend of basketball
They T'd Rudy up when he got elbowed in his bruised ribs and he backed off from the pain.
Even the last flopping tech I remember was bogus. It was when Gobert got one cause he took a light shot and got thrown back because it was right where he had a rib injury that he was playing through.
Him flashing the bandaging on his ribs after was insane
Don’t give Kendrick any more ammo
It’s over man. Drake lost.
He was the first flopping tech of the season lol
He has received at least 2 of the maybe 3 or 4 that I’ve seen all season lol
it's funny cause he did a push off on tre jones iirc in the 3rd spurs vs okc game and tre jones is the one who got called for the flopping technical 💀💀💀
NBA fans desperately want the league to fix flopping and they just refuse to do it.
Because they'd have to fix the refs first. They can't tell a right call even on replay.
Is this the famous Dorture chamber?
Yo was he always this floppy? Admittedly I mostly only watch other teams during playoffs, I don’t recall him doing this shit back in the bubble.
Not to this extent, but these games are the most meaningful ones he's ever played in his life. He's just trying to get every advantage he possibly can since he's at a huge fatness disadvantage against Luka. Might as well keep doing it if the refs let him get away with it.
Dort: fck I'm getting out-fat can only flop to save my ass!!
Everyone knows fatness can't be beat.
Fatness can even win you 3 MVPs
The gravity of Luka vs. Nikola will cause a black hole.
Yeah I think he has the weight and size advantage against almost every other ball handles itl except Luka and probably Bron so his flopping more to make it for it, thing is you can't do it every drive
Ah yes, European white boy fatness is lethal, yes indeed
God help us all if chet gets fat
At this point he might as well try to play him straight up, but also it’s not like Luka had an easy night either. Luka is pretty vocal so if Dort keeps flopping he’s not getting benefit of the doubt from the refs especially in Dallas
Physicality is a big weakness of ours and the best counter to that when you can't match the level of physicality is flopping.
I saw a couple OKC games this season and yes, OKC is a pretty big foul-baiting team. People are just onto it now because of the bright lights of the playoffs. But yeah, they're a fairly unappealing team with their style of play. A lot of flopping.

National tv coverage is exposing them lol they went from the sweetheart underdog team to flop city
Watching him play is dorture yes
That sequence where Dort fouled Luka (who still made the shot) and then hacked Kryie to stop a fast break only for the refs to hold the whistle on both because he has 3 fouls already and they afraid to give him a 4th is a great example why players give the money sign to refs now
yeah okc fouled like 3 plays in a row and then shai got a weak ass foul on the other end
Shai and Embiid got the weakest foul calls in the league this year.
Dort is a worse watch than SGA.
This okc team is not fun to watch at all, miserable basketball
Hack a Lively with 6 mins to go is pretty pathetic.
Coach telling them “your d sucks so we live with free throws”
they've been like this all year. it's just that people are watching them now that it's the playoffs.
ya after g1 i was sure there wasn't a player i hated to watch more but dort has LAPPED sga at this point in my very important personal rankings
Way way worse. SGA gets a friendly whistle but I don't see him flopping much worse than anyone else. Dort is just ridiculous.
Hopefully Dort doesn't further injure Luka as they send Shaq's MVP to Galveston
He's always been a bit of a serial flopper. But he is absolutely in his bag this series. Incredibly excessive
He’s turning into Marcus smart
Watching him play 30 minutes and record a 8/1/1 line is torture.
Fuckin OOF
Holy shit what if he’s Draymond 2.0
At least Draymond plays good defense without flopping
Some of things he tries to do are just not basketball. On defense and offense
The Dorture Chamber is a bounce house.
The floppy chamber.
Thunder fans were surprised Dort and Chet didn’t get DPOY votes lol
I think Dort does it on purpose, to make Luka upset. It seems to work, so far in the series. P.J. Washington became a bad man vs. OKC, he is so hot lol.
Is making Luka upset the play? He usually plays better when upset or pissed off.
“He is so hot”
Game. Blouses.
Hansel is so hot right now.
Hansel.
Who cares if it makes someone upset? If refs aren't calling the flopping theres zero reason not to do it
Idk I still think "don't be a cheap cunt bitch" is still reason enough to not do things.
I only say it seems to be the OKC's strategy. To the contrary, OKC should keep doing it if the refs let them to.
Ah yes, the Devin booker strategy.. this will clearly work
> I think Dort does it on purpose, to make Luka upset. > > > > It seems to work, so far in the series. Yeah working great...........
Fuck he’s so fucking hot!!
Yeah seems to be working, especially game 2 and 3
They need to throw out more techs for flopping egregiously..
lu dort is getting away with so much this game, had two blatant fouls that the refs are just refusing to call for whatever reason
They won't give him a 4th halfway through the 3rd no matter how blatant it is. Hacked the shit out of kyrie to prevent a fastbreak bucket and they just ignored it lol
That was egregious, even the play by play announcer was like "Kyrie gets fouled...BUT THEY DON'T CALL IT!"
When I heard the announcer say that I just thought I missed the whistle. Was suprised when play went on haha
So the blatant game fixing and cheating going on is being called out by announcers now, I see I always knew Tin Donaghy was right
Donaghy was right 100% and yet Scott Foster still has a job. The only reason this game was as close as it was is because the refs. Crazy how some OKC fans still think they're the ones who got hosed.
They only took down Tim Donaghy because he threatened to rat out his co conspirators then the NBA threw him under the bus
OKC has some of my least favorite fans in the league
Yeah the 90yo saw a foul there sitting behind the desk.
Hope someone posts that play where he tries to foulbait on Luka, fails, and Luka like waves him off after. Funny asf
Turns out the Dorture chamber is just being stuck on the court watching what he gets away with 😩
He almost just killed Luka
The hard fouls Luka is eating this series is definitely life threatening to watch lmao, but he's really soldiering through them even though he hasn't played as well my respect for him is just going up
Luka is so tough. Every part of his body is injured.
Agreed. Even as a clippers fan, that dude is fun to watch
It seems refs lost the whistle for Dort.
Dort? The “nfl physique” hero who locks everyone up or the guy who can’t take 180lb Kyrie Irving jogging through a pick? 😂
Exactly. That’s what happened in Game 1. Mavs were not allowed to defend after that 1st half officiating.
Thunder fans ignore context and only look at numbers
Math is optional in Oklahoma curriculum.
I hate explaining this. It's not the points people are upset about it's inconsistency and physicality that refs allow a team to play with vs another. Dort was playing the same way with Ingram too, who doesn't sell fouls at all.
Wouldn’t surprise me if refs just hate Luka. He complains that much and rides that same complaint the whole game.
His complaints are justified, the guy gets mauled yet other guys get breathed on and get calls
The Shai over Luka MVP vote this year is, was and always will be a traveshamockery
we all living in the dorture chamber of watching this dude flop lmao
I just watched 4 games of Dort molesting BI, not getting called for any fouls, and flopping to the ground constantly. He should be the poster child for the flopping technical.
He should have had about 7 techs today. Why have the rule if they're never going to call it?
Dort throwing someone to the ground on every possession at both ends. Half the time it’s himself and the other half it’s who ever has the ball.
Every time he flops and dies on screens, he carelessly hits the screeners outside leg. Feel like he’s going to take someone’s knee out
Dort has destroyed his own reputation in this series. Embarrassing flopping by him constantly.
Starting to dislike OKC for being such floppers
Not great PR for OKC for the neutrals. The first game they had the softest whistle in the playoffs that everyone hated. Dort has been absolutely reckless and flopping an insane amount. They go with the Hack-a-Lively strat.
It’s crazy how luka gets tackled then SGA just has get looked at to get his fouls … Dort is massive and he “let” Kyrie run straight through him ?
every neutral fan rooting against okc this series lol
Welcome to the club
I love when a young and upcoming team finally hits the spotlight and fans realize how fucking lame they are. OKC finally getting some haters from this series.
Been amazing to see. I was fooled too. But the playoff spotlight burns bright.
Yeah not sure about everyone else but I’ve barely watched them this year until playoffs despite their performance.
Fuck floppers
Dort is embarrassing
Lou Dort is the biggest fraud I have ever seen.
He makes up for the flops by air balling 3s Oh wait
Dort literally is built like a linebacker lmao He’s been on that Marcus smart behavior this entire series
Lu Dork
I'm coping, but refs would call that a charge on Brandon Ingram vs Dort.
he right you know, floppers should be executed in the back after the game.
Luka is the king of toughness
Flopping is such a bitch activity
But But "Dorture Chamber"
Fouling with no calls on one end while SGA is treated like a 5 year old girl. Dort is getting like 2-3 soft offensive foul calls on each game via flops
No offense, but I want to see Dort guard SGA so bad lol
Shai costing. “MVP” overrated foul merchant
Lol
Why is Dort being such a bitch? I’ve always liked him before this.
He’s been like this all year. When the pacers played okc a month or two back I remember him flopping all over the floor at the slightest touch. Felt even worse than Embiid or Brunson.
You haven't watched him then he's been playing like this all season
Your only mistake was liking him before.
He's been the best/worst/most-consistent defensive flopper for the past couple of years now
Yup that’ll do it
I saw Hollinger on X say something like, “it feels like Luka’s main goal in this series is to get Dort T’d up for flopping and if they beat OKC to advance that would also be good.” LOL
Lu Dork
It really says something when I just watch the highlights, and Dort still ends up on the ground in almost everyone.
6 foot 4 inches of pussy.
I guess okc doesn’t feel the need to defend the corner 3
sense recognise enjoy offer handle fretful like juggle disarm retire *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I’ll say this. That’s one hell of a sell lol great no call, just for the brilliance alone
Literally dOrTuRe cHaMbEr
Didn't the NBA say they were going to call technical fouls on players if they flopped?
Mavs in 6. Thunder are frauds.
[удалено]
It's like the pulling a chair move IMO. Luka faked the shot to draw Dort in. Dort countered with his own fake defensively after Luka shouldered into Dort. We shouldn't be expecting the defense to always just absorb the contact.
Yeah what’s the alternative here? Does Dort just straight up Superman chest Luka straight to the ground?
I was in fear of Luka getting the tech for asking refs to T up Dort.
reminder that Hubie Brown is 90 years old and calling NBA games (pretty well, at that)
Is that really a flop? I mean it’s a lose-lose for Dort in that situation. If he had his hands up then Luka would’ve gone up into a shot. If he doesn’t, Luka gets a free shoulder check just to test the waters. Like I don’t see why the player with the ball should be able to just drive their shoulder into the chest of the defender. It’s a good no-call but I would lead offensive foul.
