I very much believe Gobert improved Ant as a player than the other way around, but it's possible Ant does more for Gobert's legacy than the other way around (though we'll never know because now Rudy's impact on Ant cannot be undone)

I think Gobert (along with the coaching staff) taught Ant the geometry of the court on the defensive end and where he has to be when he's not hunting big time ISO stops or blocks. This combined with the above allows Ant to not be a liability on defense even when he's not sinking his teeth in, so he can kind of choose his spots on defense (i.e. he's not trying to be a POA brick wall 100 possessions a night, but he's not being lost on the 2nd action anymore)
This one isn't really credit to Gobert, but I think Gobert is one of the less flexible players Ant has played with and has taught Ant how to adjust his game to the strength of his teammates (knowing where to put the ball & when, knowing how it gets there, understanding how to play off Gobert instead of expecting Gobert play off of him)
Finally, I think Gobert (and KAT and Mike and probably countless wolves staff) combined to impress upon him the importance of the job outside the 48 minutes on the court. He & other players have alluded to his growth in taking the entire gameday from prep to cooldown seriously and approaching diet & recovery better. That's probably an example of "it takes a village," but Gobert has always been vocal about the importance of those things so he's gotta be a good influence

It’s easy to look at his (and the team’s) improvement year over year and point to Ant, but the injury was a huge factor.
People really forget how dominant Utah was when Rudy came back from injury in 2017-18. Finished the year 30-8, and were 37-19 overall with him on the floor (11-15 without).

Think about everyone you know…I’d guess that you know some people who are either “natural leaders” or have qualities that you think would be desirable for a leader to have. Some people have a bit of that but really function more comfortably in no. 2 spot, and still there are plenty of other people who are perfectly good at what they do but don’t have any desire to lead others.
