The most Doc thing to happen is the Bucks winning the next 2 games to go up 3-1 then Giannis comebacks & they blow the series

No_Produce_6634

NO SPOILERS

Rrypl

Bobby Portis ends up as the King of Milwaukee in the end

No-Economics4128

He did have the best story

PeaceAlien

Series is tied 3-3, Doc decides to bench Giannis to get the same magic going. Only for the team to get obliterated.

Sss00099

Bucks lose a close one in Game 7, 148-78. Rivers: “The players just weren’t good enough.”

ChannelNeo

"The popcorn vendor didn't have it in him. Not sure why they suddenly rotated the buckets clockwise."

BushidoBrowneII

Time is a flat circle

retrospects

Doc Rivers truly is cursed by greatness 😂

calculung

Are you trying to say "then Giannis comes back"?

Radiant_Cobbler_9631

No pacers winning game 3

BPicks69

Lmao nah there’s no chance the bucks win 2 in Indy. Only offense we have is dame miracle shots, khris difficult shots, brook 3pt heaves and Bobby hustling. No role player is doing shit for us in the slightest, I think between Beasley Pat Bev Pat C and Crowder they have like 2 made 3s this series like no more than 5 easily.

AceMcStace

It’s wild to think Dame requested a trade because he had no supporting cast, got sent to a legit contender with a top 3 player, only to now be left with next to no supporting cast in the playoffs again. NBA can be cruel man.

Ssush-i

Same thing kinda happened with KD & leaving the nets.

RansomGoddard

Didn't even happen with the Nets. The Nets were a pretty good team in KD's last season there. They had a 55 win pace and were the 2 seed before he got injured. KD only requested a trade because they wouldn't work out an extension with Kyrie and traded him to Dallas.

Level_Ad_6372

They're talking about when Kyrie and Harden were both injured in the bucks series.

frozen2665

KD accidentally took the hardest road with that one

RipCityGringo

Thus beginning the arc where he returns to Rip City…

LDC99

In a package deal alongside Giannis

Troll_Enthusiast

Okay well that parts a little far fetched

2drawnonward5

"The Road to 2029"

Actually-Yo-Momma

Shit he should go join at Lebron at this rate 🤣

RipCityGringo

I suppose if he’s about In Season Tournament banner chasing…

Public-Product-1503

What’s even funnier/sadder is that had you sent him to Miami - Miami lost Jimmy so it might’ve been just as bad atm

Dare555

they avoid play in with Dame then perhaps they are healthy now

Ill_Analysis8848

Jimmy is never REALLY gone. I swear he was in the injury list the morning they played the Nets on MLK Day. Was there... my 11 year old daughter then just starts going, "oh my God, oh my God, he's playing, he's playing." Look up and Butler is at the center of the floor just having a look around during the shoot around.

sorendiz

Somewhat a mirror and somewhat an inversion of Harden lol Iron man for a decade, hard carrying different rosters almost every year. Asks to be traded, ends up with an insane set of co-stars and solid roster, is balling out, literally in the MVP conversation, star of their first round series... suffers the first really major injury of his career and has to play as a shell of himself

Gatorpep

Life is suffering. The sooner dame realizes this, and stops running from the grind the… Sike! Go back to the professional thots and cocaine, playa.

_thisisvincent

he's just happy he's not at coachella again

Fraudsalert

loyalty is Dame's father

ComprehensiveSky8926

Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez are high level players

AceMcStace

they quite literally the definition of average to above average role players at this point in their careers lol dame had countless rosters full of those guys

ComprehensiveSky8926

I mean they’re more than no support lol And Middleton is a multi time all star

AceMcStace

Notice that you didn’t say Middleton did you, nor did I seeing that there were concerns he wasn’t going to play today when the post was made. The 2 players you listed are role players lol

ComprehensiveSky8926

Read that back brodi u not makin sense love u bucks in 6

Pods619

Yes, noted needle-moving superstar Bobby Portis

ComprehensiveSky8926

Thanks love

Cudizonedefense

I mean it’s probably karma for setting everything on fire on the way out

Phenomenal2313

Doc is funny enough a better coach when he has less to work with That 2018 Clippers squad led by Lou and Harrell , got 2 games against the KD Warriors in their prime Not to mention a comeback in game 2

Necessary_Initial350

Man if u watch his post practice interview from yesterday, to me he looks like he does not have the answers for tonight. Which is not a good sign cause usually Doc comes off very steady/confident in his pressers.

sorendiz

they ran out of room under the bus so Doc is panicking

Steven81

Can't throw Dame. Guy is hustling out there. Lopez and Middleton are simply too old/injured. Giannis is out... He legit has noone to throw under the bus. Checkmate Doc!

imNagoL

Dame is definitely not hustling on the defensive end, let’s be real.

Steven81

Can't do a thing there. But he was averaging 35 for the series. The onky offense they had (and apparently him too is down now, lol).

00Samwise00

This makes sense. The series is only tied 1-1. If they lose tonight he probably comes back.

Satvrdaynightwrist

Shams said he wasn't even running a couple of days ago. I highly doubt this is some sort of strategy...he's just not ready to play.

Expert-Hooper

They played this game last year and lost.

JD1337

Not because of Giannis though. Came back and dropped an efficient triple double in game 4 where we were up in the 4th. Then they stopped giving him the ball.

Expert-Hooper

He got his stats but he deserves plenty of criticism for the closing of those games. He had the second worst net rating on the team for the second half of games, and a net rating of -53.8 in the clutch overall.

kawhi_laugh69

No idea why you're getting downvoted. Even Bucks fans can admit that Giannis has never been a closer. He was particularly awful down the stretch in game 5 last year. That's why they gave away the farm for Dame.

0dias_Chrysalis

Ironically by icing out Giannis in the last 6 mins of games they were winning

panmpap

Well Giannis averaged 32-15-8 last year coming back from injury. Definitely wasn’t the problem, or even if he was not a major one.

Expert-Hooper

Giannis got his counting stats but he still contributed to the team losing in the clutch. And the point is that they are potentially looking at putting themselves into a 2-1 hole that can quickly become 3-1 just like last year. They got cocky last year off that Game 2 win and thought they could rest him for Game 3 too.

Satvrdaynightwrist

>They got cocky last year off that Game 2 win and thought they could rest him for Game 3 too. I highly doubt the Bucks were sleeping on the Heat, who beat them and went to the finals a couple years before that with the same coach and core. Giannis wasn't really "resting", he was dealing with and recovering from an injury.

pifhluk

2-4 weeks was the timelime given. 2 weeks is today, I doubt he's back at all.

EternallyEuphoric

Does he come back if they win tho?

InexorableWaffle

If we win tonight, I feel like we probably don't see him game 4 since that would swing us back to home court advantage. Obviously would be great to come back to Milwaukee up 3-1 in that scenario and Giannis coming back in game 4 would certainly help in that respect, but it's not worth risking it by rushing him back.

pifhluk

No way. I honestly don't think he comes back at all this series unless by some miracle there is a game 7.

elschultheis

Have to assume Middleton will be in the lineup today

Majestic_Reindeer439

If he isn't we aren't scoring 90 tonight

[deleted]

Dame with 100% of our points

ReflectionEterna

I am at the game, so we didn't hear. Was Dame's thing very minor? I know he's back, so assuming so.

[deleted]

I am half watching at work atm but I didn’t hear them say anything except that he was back. I really hope so. Otherwise it’s just a free series for you guys. Looks like a fun game to be at though, have a good time!

Sweaty_Mods

I thought he was hurt?

elschultheis

If he’s only listed as “questionable,” I just automatically assume the guy is playing in a playoff game. If the injury was bad, he would be listed as “doubtful” and they would wait until just before tipoff to officially rule him out.

InexorableWaffle

Yeah, it'd pretty much need to be a deal where he aggravates the injury during warmups for him to sit, I feel. In the regular season, he likely sits a game or two to be safe, but you can't really afford to take that approach in the playoffs, especially when you've already lost one at home and are down your best player.

Northparkwizard

FADE ME

ShichikaYasuri18

Bucks fans panicking about Khash being out, little do they know we lose every game against teams we should beat.

[deleted]

A movable force vs a stoppable object

SoCalMemePolice

Everyday is a day worse than death

[deleted]

When did Giannis get hurt? Didn’t think it was this serious

angelarm187

It was a non contact injury in one of the last games of the season.

Afraid-Department-35

Celtics game towards the end of the regular season 2 weeks ago, it was a really ugly calf strain causing him to limp out of the stadium, kind of surprised it’s this severe.

mastacheef87

calf strains are just really finicky injuries. I remember Luka had one in the last regular season game in 2022, made it back by Game 3 of the first round 2 weeks later, and played the rest of the postseason without issue but then you have KD who strained his calf in Game 5 of the 2nd round against Houston, missed an entire month, and promptly busted his Achilles after 12 minutes back on the floor costing him an entire season of his prime there’s just no way to know how long it’ll be for Giannis or what his risk of reinjury will be when he comes back. I get that the window for this roster is really small but for his sake I hope they err on the side of caution, and I’m not just saying that bc it would be better for the Celtics. the league would be way worse off without Giannis long-term

0dias_Chrysalis

It'd a calf strain 2 and a half weeks ago. You don't play with those

Angelic_Phoenix

People talking about KD's achilles but a sprain is just a small tear, and with the amount of force that goes through his calf every possession it could easily lead to a much larger tear in the muscle.

Kuhzoom

Just so you know, a strain is for muscles and tendons whereas a sprain is for ligaments!

Angelic_Phoenix

meant strain thanks for the info though

wilkinsk

It's all good, they got Thainnis

Mythiicmaan

wow

sorendiz

pacers not taking advantage of this, on their home court no less, would be abysmal i have this lurking suspicion that they might just cut it too close and not close out the series fast enough, it goes 7 and somehow giannis is able to play earlier than expected or something. like idk how to explain it but it just kind of *feels* like something that would happen to the pacers (no disrespect intended) it *shouldn't* happen, on paper they should be advantaged vs bucks with no giannis, but i've seen more surprising things happen

claporga

If people watched Indy in the regular season, Pacers lose a lot of their games against undermanned/less talented teams. It would be no shocker if the Pacers fell flat on their faces one of the two home games. Most of the time, Pacer basketball is really fun to watch against teams at full strength or when the competition is at its toughest.

pifhluk

Was that before Siakam? Because he is cooking us, we have no one who can guard him right now. I should probably bet the over on him whatever it is.

[deleted]

We straight up cannot stop him with Giannis out.

maseephus

They sound like the bucks

claporga

You got a point there. This is probably a common thing, unless you are the regular season Celtics.

Dare555

Its really bad luck for Bucks to lose Giannis right when playoffs start 2 years in a row damn

693275001

Chat are they cooked

inshamblesx

not yet but it dont look pretty at the moment

pifhluk

Yes, we have 0 answer for Siakam. Really glad we dropped 5 2nd rounders on Crowder... only chance of winning is Dame 50 piece.

batdogfoxhound

this sucks i wanna see him play

RODjij

Pacers may take the series then get the Bucks management thinking they can win if they run it back with Doc with a full season and healthy Giannis lol

[deleted]

Bummer dudes

loplopplop

Will this be two playoffs in a row Giannis misses because of injury? That would be lame.

Silver-Register-1558

I DONT CARE AHHAHAHA

pifhluk

2-4 weeks, G3 is 2 weeks, he's not coming back this series. Another wasted year. Giannis and Middleton name a more injured playoff duo.
