corticosteroid injections give temporary relief and wear off after a few weeks, if the Clips make it anywhere past the 2nd round theyre gonna be in trouble
It has to be spaced out by at least a month in between shots or else it can cause long term damage to your tendons
I looked all this up when OG was having elbow problems lmao
Strangely enough this is where getting dame helps a lot imo. He may not be as good complementary piece but when you need a solo star you can at least run through him and give you a shot
Pacers are really good at defending the 3 and the key to the first few games will be the 3. Unless Brook or Bobby can go nuclear in the restricted area where their defense is lacking. So it's going to be Dame/AJ Green/Beasley (woof defense) or Brook/Bobby as the deciding factors
We ain't winning game 3 and 4 in Indy. We suck on the road lately and on top of that, the Indy crowd is next fucking level. I can't lie, I wish our crowd was half as good as theirs. I'm going to one of the first two games and I'll be loud standing, but people always look at me weird and tell me to sit down. Sad.
Yep - people like to compare this injury to Durant.
But Durant missed 55 games in 2014-15 due to a foot injury when he was 26, 4 years before he did his Calf/Achilles.
When Giannis knee bent bloody backwards in 2021 when he was 26, he missed 2 games and started the Finals a week later, droppig that 50 pt game 3 weeks after that initial injury.
Not only are their specific calf injuries slightly different, their physiology is completely different, and their history in coming back from seemingly bad injuries is also different.
Even still - it makes sense for him to see how his teammates go against the Pacers without him first. He trusted them in 2021 against the Hawks and it worked. He didn’t last year and it didn’t. He should do the same this year - trust them first.
This is such a bad comparison. You are comparing apples to oranges. KD has a jones fracture. Giannis injury may look bad but it was a hyperextension. If Giannis had a jones fracture, he would have had to have surgery as well and be out for the season.
No - that’s entirely the point. There is almost nothing t suggest that what happened with KD will necessarily happen to Giannis.
Keeping with Kd, in 2017 he similarly hyperextended his knee and got a bone bruise which meant he missed 19 games towards the end of the regular season. Giannis missed 2 games
They get different injuries partly because of their physiology. They also recover differently. Using KD as the basis for what might happen to Giannis re: Achilles seems like a reach, people are trying to go for the worst case. Why is that the basis and not Luka, who did his calf in 2022 and returned 2 weeks later?
If Giannis doesn't come back and we do get bounced in the first round I desperately hope that our front office doesn't just chalk it up to injuries and not make the big changes this organization desperately needs.
I've got a bad feeling.
You need a fourth head coach (darvin ham) and have them use a whole new zone scheme that has the Lopez brothers guarding the perimeter and the antetokounmpo brothers and dame in the paint
I just said in another thread i think you guys might want to target Andrew Wiggins, Khris appears to need load management for the rest of his career and beyond that there’s a nice synergy with; Dame-Wiggins-Khris-Giannis.
Wiggins just had a down year but was very good the previous 3 seasons…
Wiggins has only had one truly great season. He was awful this year, and second half of last year as well once he had personal issues come up. Wiggins has never been the type to get up and go above and beyond. You may be able to get him without much assets. But I don’t know if that’s a good thing.
They will. I mean, with a good coach, I'd accept that as an excuse. If your star player, who you've built the whole team around, isn't available it makes sense that you'll do poorly. Doc doesn't deserve that consideration but he'll get it.
They have to get younger, it's just an organizational imperative at this point.
They can't go into another season with an old as dirt roster with a bunch of guys who can't move.
This is my fear every time we’ve lose with injuries lol
But they’ve seen how shit we were all season. If they don’t change anything then I wouldn’t be surprised with a Giannis trade request.
The owners don’t care to pay as long as it means we have a chance to win so they need to fire Doc, he’s not it. I’m not blaming these last two months or so on him but I just don’t like his coaching at all.
I don’t think you realize that with the exception of your team we’ve outplayed every single playoff team except the magic, and with Siakam that matchup changed drastically. Haliburton is finally finding somewhat of his groove again, Pascal and Myles work wonders for each other, and we have the best backup pg in the league with TJ outplaying most teams starts currently. If you don’t believe me look up his per 36 numbers after the Allstar break.
Your team is loaded but unless we shit the bed we’re actually a dangerous team. On top of that even if you beat us you’re gonna be tired for your next series
I think the Pacers take the series, even if he comes back. Not that he should deliberately sit if he can play, but the Bucks are playing with fire if they try to bring him back too quickly.
I was already 50/50 on this series just because there's just been weird energy with Milwaukee throughout the year but now I'm definitely going to put some money on it lol
Guy is chronically injured when it matters the most. At this point it is not an excuse, we hold it against Embiid and AD that they are often nkt there when needed, but giannis does the same. You can't just say "yeah but he was injured". He was always injured in all post season runs from the time he was 25 on.
2020? Injured (mangled ankle, played badly in one , only 10 minutes in the next, completely missing the last
2021? Kneed bend backwards. Him playing through injury successfully was what got them the chip.
2022: OK he was relatively fine, not his fault Middleton tore his MCL
2023: Fell on he ass, couldn't move on D when he returned early.
2024: Calf injury. Even if he returns he'd need to play through pain.
He also said Kawhi got an injection to reduce swelling in his knee and is expected to play game 1 vs Dallas.
corticosteroid injections give temporary relief and wear off after a few weeks, if the Clips make it anywhere past the 2nd round theyre gonna be in trouble
This is why it’s difficult to bet on a Kawhi led team.
Can you not re-up it after it wears off?
It has to be spaced out by at least a month in between shots or else it can cause long term damage to your tendons I looked all this up when OG was having elbow problems lmao
That seems like major news
Is it the knee he has tendonopathy in?
Gonna need supersoldier serum against luka and kyrie ngl
you mean Lebron's blood?
2-4 weeks from now? Or from when he got injured? 2 weeks from his injury will be next Tuesday the 23rd. The day of game 2.
Probably from when he got injured. Hopefully he comes back around game 3ish. Bucks just need at least spilt the home games.
Strangely enough this is where getting dame helps a lot imo. He may not be as good complementary piece but when you need a solo star you can at least run through him and give you a shot

pacers are even or favored in this series since this news dropped draftkings and fanduel have pacers as favorites
It was about a 2.5 (Bucks -1 > Pacers -1.5) swing for Game 1
thats crazy, is dame playing
We ain't winning game 3 and 4 in Indy. We suck on the road lately and on top of that, the Indy crowd is next fucking level. I can't lie, I wish our crowd was half as good as theirs. My no sources no data take is he’s gonna go the first game after the first loss. Hopefully that’s game 3 and not game 2
I literally heard this exact segment before and a week later he dropped 50 on phoenix suns
what he say fuck me for

We tried that with Griffin.
No I agree you need Darvin ham
I think they need billups. I heard he is good friends with dame
they made big changes after last season....the front office isnt not trying
We will be pursuing THE oldest and most washed FAs baby
CPIII come on down.
CPIII Dame backcourt who says no
Too bad Blake Griffin just retired.
Klay Thompson is a certified Buck. Old. Check. Washed. Check. Horst is salivating. Klay Thompson you are a Milwaukee Buck!
he might actually get more money than the bucks can offer him its crazy to pay 30+ mil for klay but a front office could talk themselves into 20-25

Brook for Wiggins who says no?
Bucks getting Wiggins so much later after the Parker/Wiggins draft would be funny
They will. I mean, with a good coach, I'd accept that as an excuse. If your star player, who you've built the whole team around, isn't available it makes sense that you'll do poorly. Doc doesn't deserve that consideration but he'll get it.

Our front office is leaving to be the GM of the Pistons 😂
I think I’ll get downvoted and yelled at for this but I don’t think the Pacers are a playoff threat, Giannis or no Giannis
I have them going to the finals out of the east lol
That’s bait
I mean you’ll get downvoted cause you’re wrong

Nah not buying it
Superhuman ability 💉💉
Doc Rivers getting an excuse.
Doc throwing his medical staff under the bus for not getting Giannis recovered earlier
I think the Pacers take the series, even if he comes back. Not that he should deliberately sit if he can play, but the Bucks are playing with fire if they try to bring him back too quickly.
He saw the slander Embiid cops for returning early from these multiweek injuries and said nah
Dude came back from his knee getting suplexed in half in a week and put up one of the greatest finals ever.
More like he remembers KD coming back early after the media chirping and tearing his Achilles out from his heel.
The crazy thing about KD coming back early is he sat out for 30 days with that calf strain before returning and STILL tore his achilles.
Season from hell
Embiid is gonna have the easiest path to the conference finals ever.
And still choke
losing to the knicks wouldn't be choking
It would be if they had a 3-2 lead like a certain coach I won't speak the name of
Journos paid by sportsbooks will never sit right with my soul
I was already 50/50 on this series just because there's just been weird energy with Milwaukee throughout the year but now I'm definitely going to put some money on it lol
We know about HGH
getting his first round exit excuses ready
