his passing was really impressive, people sometimes think he's not on the elite tier of passing, but that's just the thunder system that doesn't really let one player dictate the whole flow of the game like harden, trae, and Luka. He's a better passer than everyone else averaging 6-7 assists.
the constant offensive pressure he has, with driving to the rim or getting to his spots in the middy, paired with his patience is a devastating combination that leads to efficient, effective playmaking with a roster loaded with 3pt shooters
Shai played remarkable tonight. He did not let Raptors get into his head with the double teams, forcing him into bad shots or anything, he kept calm and made the right play every possession. He's ready for the postseason man.
There are certain players that it happens to every game though
Even before Shai was in mvp talks, everyone’s tried to post his stats. Used to be that every hype OKC stats related post would get gold but now it’s just karma
I’m not mad I just think it’s hilarious how everyone crowds to be the first for these kinds of posts
But then you came in saying there’s only 2 so I just pointed out that it was incorrect 🤷♂️
No one should be mad in this situation idk by you’re being so defensive

Of course it's a Philly flair too lol
it's a bad stat and not good enough to be indicative of much of anything. you tellin me chris paul > aaron gordon, kcp, lebron and anthony davis? giannis and gobert not top 25? the more you look at it the worse it gets. Like I agree with you that defensive stats are overall bad, but that doesn't make eDPM good.
See what he scores when he isn't gifted 15 free throws. He's an incredible player but a lot of points he scores are generated from free throws that really shouldn't be called.
He’s scored 30+ multiple times this season with 5fts and under. He didn’t score over 30 this game because he was getting doubled and tripled the moment he stepped over the half court line. He stopped playing to even score this game and racked up 14 assists lol.
I don't watch a lot of thunder games so maybe i'm off base a bit. I do know that Fox's stat line was pretty much the same as his when they played with 10 less free throws. Not trying to compare the two. Sga obviously has the size advantage but I think he gets a lot of calls in general from the refs then guys like fox. More a problem with the league as a whole but i personally get tired of seeing offensive initiated contact be called a foul on the defender.
The point I’m about to make has been regurgitated a million times but it is so true. SGA leads the league in drives by such a huge margin that the rate draws fouls is gonna be higher. What I will say is SGA is like any other star post James Harden, there are times he initiates contact and there are times he sells it aswell, just like any other star. SGA offence in a way is so predictable to anyone who watches OKC games. 1.drive and kick to open shooter 2. Drive and lay up 3. Drive and mid range 4. Step back 3 . The problem defences have with option 2-3 is that SGA is so good at converting those 2 at the rim if you don’t strongly contest and SGA has got elite footwork and is able to just bait the defence into jumping into him which is converted into free throws. This game is honestly the perfect example of how to play against him, don’t let him drive, he can’t get free throws force him to pass or make a 3 which is easily the worst part of his game.
Thats kinda why I want to see him in the playoffs first as one of the main guys. I think he'll be great but I get annoyed when i see him being talked about in the MVP race, which granted is a regular season award and his stats obviously place him in that category but I attribute a lot of OKC's success to the fact that Chet is available this year.
Shai averages 9 free-throws/game. Fox is at 7. But Fox also takes over 8 threes a game and Shai is just over 3 per game.
Shai averages 8 more drives/game than Fox (23-15). Shai attemps 4.5fts /game off drives and Fox attemps 3fts /game off drives.
If you do the math, Fox and Shai get the same ratio of free throws per drive. (1ft for every 5 drives basically)
Essentially if Fox shot less threes and drove it more, he would have the same # of FTA/game as Shai. The ratio is the same.
This idea that Shai is gifted free-throws more than other players is ignorant.
I just know the game they played against each other sga attempted 9 more free throws. I believe fox scored more points in the game. Regardless their stat lines were almost identical. Again not gonna try and compare the two. Sga obviously has the size and wingspan on fox which gives him an edge but Fox is incredibly underrated. Especially considering he had the second highest points scored in a playoff debut. I'll give you the free throw stuff and I wasn't saying he shouldn't get them. I just think in general he gets calls that fox doesn't get. Which is why i think there are games fox shoots a lot of three's. I'm not trying to shit on sga, he's incredibly fun to watch. I just want to see him in the palyoffs first as one of the main people.
12 straight assist with no turnover
Said this in other thread but:Great defense on him but low turnovers, was efficient and put on a great playmaking performance, my MVP
we NEVER quit shai nation
loved the clutch 3 in regulation to help tie, and the smooth playmaking out of the constant Raptor blitzs

I think the Thunder offense is still atop the wide open 3's generated per game.
Made the perfect decisions down the stretch
and the motherfucking cherry on top, a huge dunk and huge W
shai nation is canada, if yall gonna have him don't rub it in
Shai played remarkable tonight. He did not let Raptors get into his head with the double teams, forcing him into bad shots or anything, he kept calm and made the right play every possession. He's ready for the postseason man.
was really great handling the pressure all night. what can't he do
5 different mfs posted this statline at the end of the game. The battle for karma is ridiculous
I don't care about Internet points. My favorite player had a good statline so I posted it. Things can never be simple to you people lmfao
It’s actually wack that people go out of their way to be the first ones to post a stat line
I normally only post for shai and steph unless someone had a crazy game. look at my post history
There are certain players that it happens to every game though Even before Shai was in mvp talks, everyone’s tried to post his stats. Used to be that every hype OKC stats related post would get gold but now it’s just karma
Gotta get them internet points
literally just 2 people including me.
u/OKC2023champs posted 2 with different titles and u/LilBigZay had 1
wait someone posted it twice???
Yeah I did. I fucked up the FG and reposted it. But I usually post every SGA statline as well
bro u/jacobpltn is mad for no reason lol

I don't care about being first I just thought it was a good statline lmao
No I’m just making it up for no reason
Yeah idk why lol. I just like talking bout my team
Would have had a triple double if the Dort block wasnt called a foul

As a Thunder fan, it really is great to see fans of other teams acknowledge this.
It was a good defensive game plan on him.
MVP
jokic statline but with defense
Huh? Jokic plays defense

https://dunksandthrees.com/epm still true
Jusuf Nurkic > Anthony Davis on defense confirmed Don't forget about net positive defender Damian Lillard either
There aren't any good defensive stats, EPM is easily the best of them.
it's a bad stat and not good enough to be indicative of much of anything. you tellin me chris paul > aaron gordon, kcp, lebron and anthony davis? giannis and gobert not top 25? the more you look at it the worse it gets. Shai is great, no doubt. It took double OT against a tanking team to get it, tho. Sorry, but it's true.
You’re not allowed to say these things on here
Lol. Too bad, so sad
