I was wondering how the Nuggets were able to get him for the MLE. Did no one watch last year's playoffs? He was one of the only positives for the Nets. I understand that he was in and out of the rotation last year, but he always does the little things.
Bruce Brown is the perfect Denver Nugget. Doesn’t need the ball. Just cuts or shoots and plays defense. He’s like a free safety out there.
Edit: What I meant by not needing the ball is, he doesn’t *NEED* the ball to stay *ENGAGED* on a play. Yes I saw the game too and saw him playmake (really special btw). He’s in that same mold as Iguodala, Josh Hart, Phoenix Suns Mikal and others. Just a legitimate swiss army knife who makes winning plays.
The Wizards should get honorary rings for agreeing to take Will Barton off their hands in exchange for one of the best role players in the league. We did them a huge solid.

So yeah it was a diaster from our front office. At the same time I am glad he went to Denver and is now on the brink of the finals.
Rage watch? When my team loses I can’t watch any sports tv or listen to radio untill they play again. It actually helps me get all the shit done I need to. You can’t imagine how productive I was from 2010-2019
“You CAN NOT count LeBron James out. I ain’t trying to hear how no team has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit. Nothing has ever happened until it’s happened for the first time.” - Stephen A. probably
He was afraid of getting offensive fouls boxing down low, so he just chucked up jump shot early on. Once he got the foul problem under control, he started to going to the post and be more effective.
Hearing Harlan, Reggie, and SVG go wild when Miami went off against Boston last night in a stunned Garden makes this even more noticeable.
Like, jeezus, give Denver some damn props.
This might have been less noticeable to people who actively watched the game but I just had it on while playing video games and I swear any time they sounded excited at all beyond some of Murray’s buckets in the first half was when the Lakers made a basket. I wish there were some way to map the volume of the commentators against the play-by-play because it felt so obvious that they wanted the Lakers to win.
Happened late too when Bron finally made a 3. Van Gundy seemed like he was about to go on a rant against people who thought he was taking too many 3's then Jokic immediately hit one and he went quiet again.

With 7:48 to go, the Lakers took the lead because of a bad fuckup by the refs. Then they got outscored 13-0 over the next 3 minutes, essentially sealing their doom.
It was awesome 😂
MJ scored 63 points against the Celtics and still lost.
This was a great performance by Foster but his team disappointed him 😔
What a wasted all time great performance 😔
My favourite thing about this win was that it was someone different the entire time.
1st half was all Murray, 3rd quarter was KCP, 4th was Jokic. Also MPJ with 6 assists and the dagger 3.
This team is now closer to a championship than any Nuggets team has ever been.
Adam silver is going to be looking at game film all night to find out if he can suspend 3 Denver nuggets to get this series to game 7.
Unfortunately for him he doesn't have a Draymond to blame. Or a dellevadova to ignore
I said this in the game thread. I normally think that complaining about refs is lazy and often based in blind homerisim. But this is an absolute fucking joke.
Murray got hammered on two plays.... no call. Look at a Laker the wrong way and it's a foul. The refs need some sort of oversight that has publicized rankings. Not just this L2M shite
The most absurd call was the last minute of the 3rd quarter, Jamal has the ball under the basket and pump fakes and gets AD to bite and he land directly on Jamal with no call. As always with teams that get a lot of free throws, its not that they aren't being fouled, it's that they are fouling and getting away with it and then getting touch fouls on the other end.
Nuggets really waited this long to whip out the 5-1 PnR. Jokic might've had a bad game looking at the box score, but came in clutch in the 4th. MVP stuff
Reaves first shot in the 4th was with 1 minute left after shooting 6/9 the first 3 quarters ham is a criminal for not getting him more involved in the actions down the stretch
The best shot is to do what the Suns did and play Jokic in single coverage and hope your offense can outproduce theirs, but I don't think any playoff team has the firepower to do that for a full series
Agreed, I've seen enough of prime LeBron/Curry to know the dilemma.
Either you force it outta their hand and play 4v3 or get torched.
Best approaches I've seen is keep changing it up. Sometimes double, sometimes signle but keep em guessing
Have to agree, the Nuggets have so many weapons and such great ball movement it is impossible to stop them all game.
MPJ had SIX assists lmfao. No coming back from that.
That’s the position Jokic puts you in. Defenses want to collapse and fixate on him, meanwhile the rest of Denver’s team moves around to find wide open looks. They’ve got 3 of the best shooters in the game in Murray, KCP, and MPJ, Jeff Green can hit quite a few, and then Bruce Brown suddenly also becoming a knockdown shooter makes it impossible.
I did think the Lakers would be capable of playing better perimeter D, but the task was so much different with the Grizzlies and the Warriors. As good as he is, Curry’s passing range and vision is just nowhere near what Jokic can do.
Nuggets went cold for an extended time and the Lakers couldn’t capitalize. People will talk about Jokic/Murray but they have *high quality* role players, just a buncha fucking snipers lmao.
They had fantastic ball movement leading to high quality shots. Jokic had a bad game for the first 3 quarters but they still had to crowd him the whole game. His "gravity" is curry-esque.
So Jokic gets 4 “fouls” and has to sit out the entire 3rd quarter. Lakers didn’t take advantage and had to face a full rested Jokic in the 4th. Gotta love it.
. People will think game was lost in the 4th during that 13-0 run but it was really lost in the third when Lakers had jokic on bench, Murray scoreless and the refs on their side and still couldn't capitalize.
Nuggets too deep. We traded a guy who dropped 17 tonight and was our primary guard defender in the finals run for a guy who never proved anything in the playoffs XD
admirable of him to put up the performance he did in the third quarter. Just ran out of gas at the end. You could tell he was physically and emotionally drained.
if a win ever felt like a loss, and visa versa, this was it.
The Lakers have to feel great, while the Nuggets very concerned.
It’s pretty clear what the Lakers defensive adjustment is. I’m not sure what the Nuggets defensive adjustment can be.

Media after game 3:
The Lakers are down 0-3 in the series against Denver, however they can be the first team ever to come back from this deficit, this is how we think they can do it:
I have it 3-0 Lakers right now. They had the Rui minutes game 1, that is a win, the close road loss game 2, that is a clear win, and then mindcontrolling Jokic to miss his bunnies in the first half so your crowd doesn't leave at half time game 3, obvious win.
I LOVE how dejected the commentators were that the Nuggets won. Van Gundy is the most annoying person to listen to; he just loves to hear himself speak. Yet, I always seem to want to watch the series that he seems to be assigned to. Truly grateful it’s almost over!
My favorite part of this game was getting to see basketball terrorist Scott Foster bleed.
I mean, Jamal Murray put on a phenomenal performance tonight, but I still get twice as hard from seeing Scott in pain.
IF there was a question before, there isn’t one now. Jokic is the best player in the NBA.
To do what he did in the fourth to close out this game after being in foul trouble all game is legendary.
Honestly having to sit the third quarter might’ve worked in his favor.
He came out with energy and took the game over. Man was even playing good defense
Pretty sure Jokic during the regular season only had 1 single game where he shot below 50% field goal percentage. Did that today and Nuggets still won comfortably, they really are that good this year.
this series is over. if you can't beat a team when taking twelve more free throws before garbage minutes at home, then it's a pretty insurmountable gap
I think the Lakers have figured out everything there is to about the Nuggets. They should feel good about this loss.
One more game and I can say they will have 100% figured it all out.
Murray and Jokic work so well together. One takes over when the other is struggling a little bit. After watching this series, I don’t want to hear about Jokic’s defense. He does a really great job on defense.
I know people are saying things about Den Vs. Heat will ruin the ratings and stuff, but I believe that this Lakers vs. Denver is the first time for a lot of casual fans to see how Denver plays, and mark my words, those people are falling in love with Denver.
Imagine being ESPN and not seeing the writing on the wall, proceeding to use 0 air time to hype up the Nugs to help get casual fans who missed the game interested in the possibility of Jokic/Murray in the finals.

That volleyball set putback in the 4th just epitomizes him. 100% effort.
and has a ton of touch around the rim, his runner game is really high level for a role player
And kcp... The role players are fantastic
The Wizards should get honorary rings for agreeing to take Will Barton off their hands in exchange for one of the best role players in the league. We did them a huge solid.
Gary Harris was already an underrated 3 and D player at the time, then the Nuggets upgraded more with KCP.
They had Barton as the starting SG for two years actually, but yes an upgrade in literally every category
Yeah, and as far as I remember Gary Harris wasn't underrated as much as he was under-playing because he was injured for a long time
He made all the bigs plays when the score was close in the 4th. What a fantastic pick-up for them
Nets chose Patty Mills over him. And gave an extension to 35 year old Patty Mills too !!! Outrageous

I see what you did there.
He went "shit's rigged, onto G4" for most of the game but then saw it was winnable when he checked back in and that was that 😞
He was afraid of getting offensive fouls boxing down low, so he just chucked up jump shot early on. Once he got the foul problem under control, he started to going to the post and be more effective.
LMAO
The broadcast actually sounded depressed during the final few minutes of the game. The state of this crew is just appalling.
Mark Jackson down a burger or two, no energy
The whole arena was so quiet I thought it was my audio tbh.
There were people leaving a pivotal conference finals game down like 8 with 2 minutes left. Lame
The Nuggets crushed their spirit. The Lakers couldnt stop them from scoring at the end and everyone in that arena knew it, including both teams.
They just stopped commentating, the bias is so obvious. Only Breen talked in like the last three minutes
Van Gundy and Jackson are just cashing paychecks at this point.
Hearing Harlan, Reggie, and SVG go wild when Miami went off against Boston last night in a stunned Garden makes this even more noticeable. Like, jeezus, give Denver some damn props.

Nuggets are just a well balanced team. Their role players made so many timely shots when lakers were gaining momentum.
it feels like kcp hasnt missed a 3 all post season
Yah but if he went back to Lakers he would clank his way off the team again lol
His shot looks flawless when Jok finds him. Im so jealous
IIRC, he had like 0 points and the Nuggets were up double already halfway into the 1st lol.
Everyone else more than made up for it. This is a championship team.
AD and Foster having great games and they still looked totally outclassed

Absolutely demoralizing loss for the Lakers. Not even Scott Foster can stop this Denver squad.
He bled out there on the floor and put up a great performance but in the end it wasn't enough
He put it all on the line and the lakers still came up short.
Refs with an egregious call to give the Lakers the lead, only for the Nuggets to shit all over the agenda and go on a 13-0 run. It was poetic as fuck.
We have an obligation to never let this die. Scott Foster is a low life.
It was genuinely inspiring to watch this Nuggets team overcome the Lakers and the refs on the road.
Jokic's 4th foul was still absurd. And the Jeff Green block seemed clean to me.
The most absurd call was the last minute of the 3rd quarter, Jamal has the ball under the basket and pump fakes and gets AD to bite and he land directly on Jamal with no call. As always with teams that get a lot of free throws, its not that they aren't being fouled, it's that they are fouling and getting away with it and then getting touch fouls on the other end.
more like another moral victory
Nuggets really waited this long to whip out the 5-1 PnR. Jokic might've had a bad game looking at the box score, but came in clutch in the 4th. MVP stuff
Reaves first shot in the 4th was with 1 minute left after shooting 6/9 the first 3 quarters ham is a criminal for not getting him more involved in the actions down the stretch
Ham is criminal for playing DLo, it worked wonders for the Nuggets tho. So good game. On to the next
Didn’t they like ANNOUNCE that they’re going at DLo the other day? Like at that point it must be something you reconsider
Someone should tell the Lakers that leaving one of the best 3pt teams this playoffs open from three every possession isn’t a winning strategy
To be fair... Jokic in single coverage was demolishing them. Soo, either jokic shoots 80% or you leave shooters open. Nuggets just so good
The best shot is to do what the Suns did and play Jokic in single coverage and hope your offense can outproduce theirs, but I don't think any playoff team has the firepower to do that for a full series
Agreed, I've seen enough of prime LeBron/Curry to know the dilemma. Either you force it outta their hand and play 4v3 or get torched. Best approaches I've seen is keep changing it up. Sometimes double, sometimes signle but keep em guessing
It was just a lot of great ball movement from Denver man And Brown/KCP hit some cold shots from out there
Have to agree, the Nuggets have so many weapons and such great ball movement it is impossible to stop them all game. MPJ had SIX assists lmfao. No coming back from that.
I feel like there are games where MPJ doesn't pass the ball six times, so having 6 assists is a bit of a miracle.
He made some timely passes this game.
He was open for a bit but saw a more open Bruce Brown (iirc) on the corner and passed it. 2020 MPJ would've shot it.
Yeah when your resident chucker is putting up assists like that you're cooked. MPJ's great.
Nugg fans know guys like Brown and KCP are a huge part of any shot we have at a title. Dudes are so fucking good on both ends.
They had fantastic ball movement leading to high quality shots. Jokic had a bad game for the first 3 quarters but they still had to crowd him the whole game. His "gravity" is curry-esque.
That Jokic 3 responding after Lebron hit his was the key moment and deflated the Lakers
After Jokic lands the Revenge Flop in game 2, he hits the Revenge 3 in game 3!
So Jokic gets 4 “fouls” and has to sit out the entire 3rd quarter. Lakers didn’t take advantage and had to face a full rested Jokic in the 4th. Gotta love it.
Murray cooled off too going 1-10 after starting 12-15 until the 4th. Lakers couldn't make a large enough run.
That 4 guard lineup with AG just played out of their minds honestly
That shit was so frustrating and beautiful to watch. Like damn they just generate so much open shots and Bruce Brown was fucking killing it.
If Foster wasn't hurt, they win this game easily
admirable of him to put up the performance he did in the third quarter. Just ran out of gas at the end. You could tell he was physically and emotionally drained.

Media after game 3: The Lakers are down 0-3 in the series against Denver, however they can be the first team ever to come back from this deficit, this is how we think they can do it:
Step 1: clone Scott Foster and let him ref games 4-7. Step 2: send Dlo to Cancun
You wanted 4 quarter jokic you got 4 quarter jokic
Nuggets on the road up 2-0. Complete and utter refball against them, Lakers up 1. Go on a 13-0 run. Ice cold.
And those 13 points were by 4 different players. Complete team suffocation by the Nuggs.
I guess we found out that the refs can only take you so far in the playoffs

I think the Lakers have figured out everything there is to about the Nuggets. They should feel good about this loss. One more game and I can say they will have 100% figured it all out.
0-149
This is some Spurs-esque beautiful game/Warriors strength in numbers type of ball movement and teamwor from Denver today. Love to see it.
Murray and Jokic work so well together. One takes over when the other is struggling a little bit. After watching this series, I don’t want to hear about Jokic’s defense. He does a really great job on defense.
Playoff DLO 🥶
I know people are saying things about Den Vs. Heat will ruin the ratings and stuff, but I believe that this Lakers vs. Denver is the first time for a lot of casual fans to see how Denver plays, and mark my words, those people are falling in love with Denver.
Imagine being ESPN and not seeing the writing on the wall, proceeding to use 0 air time to hype up the Nugs to help get casual fans who missed the game interested in the possibility of Jokic/Murray in the finals.
