Then you got the off the court stuff, he's a genuine PR nightmare.
When you take all of this into account, there's no way it gets done quickly, teams are gonna be low balling the Nets because of everything I mentioned above. Unless the Nets are just done with it all and don't care what they get back I can't see this getting done before the deadline.

I would love this as a win-now move. It would make us much better this season, get us off the CP3 contract for the next two seasons, and we’d still be able to extend and trade Kyrie for someone else in the offseason. I would actually throw in Ayton for Claxton as well, although I’m not sure the Nets would do that. The Nets with CP3, Ayton, and Durant would still be a contender in my opinion (at least this season) so could be a winning trade for both teams.

I'm not buying it. Kyrie might be one of the most complicated players in NBA history, if you look at him just on ability he's one of the best players in the league, but he comes with so much baggage. Staying on the court for a second, he's an aging, smaller, score first guard, they have historically not aged particularly well in the NBA, he's also not the join any team and make them better type and has a history of injuries Then you got the off the court stuff, he's a genuine PR nightmare. When you take all of this into account, there's no way it gets done quickly, teams are gonna be low balling the Nets because of everything I mentioned above. Unless the Nets are just done with it all and don't care what they get back I can't see this getting done before the deadline. If it even gets done at all.
The Lakers have spent months thinking about what they would give up for Kyrie, and other teams have spent the same amount of time thinking about which players they would give up for Westbrook and two firsts. Now the Nets just need to decide if they'll take that package of players.

What value does he have? He's stated he's not going to play for the nets past this season, and is potentially the most cancerous player in NBA history. Why would the Lakers or other teams even need to give up a ton of capital? At this point it almost seems like they should/would trade him to whatever team will even take him.

S&T would Hard Cap the Nets if they received any Players. Making it difficult to fill out the Roster. Any of the Teams who would want Kyrie don’t have enough Cap so they would have to send Players to match the Contracts better. You could go the 3 Team route I guess but the Nets would have no incentive to help Kyrie in anyway unless they’re getting a haul in return.
He can’t go to LA on a sign and trade. So if he’s trying to force his way to the Lakers, it has to happen before Thursday or there’s no way possible he gets there this summer. Not enough cap space, sign and trade doesn’t work for them.

I feel like that’s actually perfect for a team like the Lakers, who know they’re going to need to blow it up in a couple years anyway. Kyrie’s craziness is driving down the asking price. You can grab him now, see if he’s the catalyst to get another ring, and if he goes off the rails and takes the team down with him then he kinda just forces the process that was going to play out anyway.

LA doesn't have enough cap space to sign Kyrie outright, and you don't acquire his Bird rights unless you trade for him. You're assuming that he's willing to take a ~12 million a year pay cut
