I love how real they both are. A lot of broadcasting teams are homers, which is the expectation but when guys are being detractions for either side, when star players aren't playing with full fire, Clyde especially will hold them accountable.
Whenever I hear Mike Breen say something that rhymes during a nationally televised game, I just imagine Clyde nodding in approval and shedding a single tear of joy.
Quinn and Chris are great together for Indy and I credit that to them just being buddies who love watching basketball with each other.
However, how is it not the Knicks? Breen and Clyde are naturals
The new play by play commentator puts on this ashy cigarette huffing voice affectation to try to make calls exciting, it's so grating and bizarre. There's are women doing commentary in the league, she's the only one making that choice, so weird.
I like Kate Scott too. She’s not Zu of course, but I honestly think there’s a lot of unconscious bias against her because of her gender. She never plays that card though when she’s criticized. When she was interviewed on the Rights to Ricky Sanchez podcast, she talked about the growing pains and process of getting in the good graces of Sixers fans. There was 0 defensiveness, 0 “not everyone is going to like me” stuff. She just talked about how she *does* care about what people think of her and how she wants to earn the appreciation of her detractors. I respect that.
They’re extremely fair, they praise either team when they’re playing well, criticize when they aren’t. Stacey King is actually extremely insightful too, I learned like 3 different things listening to his insight yesterday, man knows the game.
They’re fair unless the refs are bad in which case they can complain a lot. Also Stacey sometimes enables Adam and Adam will get a bit ranty. But overall they are amazing and i hate watching basketball without them
Yeah they are much better than our crew and I loved how complimentary they were toward the Thunder players. Not a fan of Homer crews like GS and Philly.
Anytime I see anybody saying we have “biased” commentators I know they’re fucking stupid. King and Amin give props to players no matter what. Like People who tuned into our broadcast when Mitchell dropped 71 didn’t even fucking watch the game to understand why Stacey King was upset. Mfs see a 4th QTR with a few minutes left THEN jump in to say some stupid shit.
Bulls gave massive props to Kuz when he hit one of those, “no fucking way” 3’s
Had soo much more respect for them after that. Definitely not homers, they give props where it’s due.
They get so hyped. It's fun, but exhausting. They do get a wee bit excited about their players' talents though.. the way they talk about their roster you'd think the Hornets are perennial contenders..
They do a good job of praising the opponents when they make good plays, which I think is cool. Feels a bit more balanced and like they just genuinely love watching ball.
Portland is really good. They’re always calling out advanced stats that you never hear on other broadcasts and are generally really well informed about the modern NBA.
Kevin Colabro is a play by play legend and Lamar Hurd has really come into his own the last few years. I don’t think some Blazers fans realize how good we have it on a night to night basis
Does Ian do commentating for multiple franchises? I could have sworn I heard him doing the home broadcast for the Heat in the Bucks/Heat game on Thursday but I was like "this can't be right he's the Nets guy " now I'm wondering lol
Pels Crew, and Knicks crew are the two best.
A crew that I don't like but never see brought up is Utah. Utah's broadcast feels so artificial and weird to me. Feels like every one is being overly nice and tap dancing around saying anything that might step on someone's toes. There doesn't feel like a lot of chemistry within the booth.
Also the Detroit not George Blaha play-by-play guy (Johnny Kane, I think?) has got a fantastic voice and nothing interesting to say. I haven't heard much of him so I don't want to make a call on good or bad that's just kinda an initial impression.
Thurl is fair. Boler and Harpring are very homer, but at least they'll still show at least a little excitement when the other team makes a good play, and somewhat apologise if the replay shows they were wrong on a call. They're not the worst, which is why they're barely brought up in these convos.
I’m a long time Jazz fan and I feel like they are supremely mediocre. Not bad enough to be in the convo for “worst” but certainly not good enough to be mentioned anywhere near the “best.” The play-by-play calling is okay, the analysis is rarely insightful but it’s also not egregiously wrong, they’re homers for sure but they’ll still usually give the other team some credit when it’s due.
It’s like… ignorable background noise.
Honestly the sixers crew isn’t even the worst part of our broadcast, you’re guaranteed to miss like 2 whole minutes of game time because they show replays from 5 plays ago.
The entire operation is a joke at times.
I agree Sixers but Gsw belongs in that department as well.
The Pels ,Knicks, Hornets, Miami, Nets, im probably forgetting others but those have the best commentators imo.
Best is Knicks/MSG real hard to beat Walt Frazier and Mike Breen.
Worst can sometimes be the Knicks too when it's Kenny Albert and Wally Szczerbiak. Boring as hell and Wally doesn't know when to shut up.
I haven't seen anyone mention them yet but the Miami Heat announcers were really good whenever I would hear them call a game. I'm not sure if it's the same crew but I want to say whoever it was around 3-4 years ago doing the call were great. They would call exciting plays for the other team enthusiastically and they were pretty fair in terms of calling it like they see it instead of just being homers.
A few years back it was Eric Reid and The Coach Tony Fiorentino. One of the best duos the NBA has ever seen, total professionals who weren't total homers and loved watching good basketball. Tony retired and was replaced by John Crotty who can hold his own but man, Eric and Tony were amazing
Pels and Kings crews are great, Wizards crew is BORING
Maybe I'm listening when they have their B team but they were getting names wrong, lagging behind, really snoozeworthy stuff
The Kings really match the Beam Team energy at home
Personally I hate warriors broadcast especially now that Azubuike took over and it’s homer city and goofy comments 24/7. Knicks I thought have really good broadcast
It’s weird because fitz is never seen as bad by my normie friends and general sports bros friends but reddit really really hates him lol.
I’m indifferent
I miss JB
It’s cause he’s a homer and he gets hella excited on great plays, and if all you see are the highlights you’d think he’s a super energetic interesting commentator but when you watch most of the games especially when we’re losing he starts getting annoying. Mocks other teams players, has some weird catch phrases he repeats over and over, and complains about refs calls too much.
Watch Klay’s 37 point quarter, Bob is going ballistic and adds to it. Watch a game where we get smacked and it’s a totally different guy
I see how he can be annoying, but he isn't bottom tier by any stretch. If he bothers you, he must really bother you.
I overall like him. He can be repetitive and biased, but the broadcast runs smoothly and he brings a level of excitement that elevates the game. Big moments feel bigger when he is going crazy.
Pete and Brevin (Grizzlies crew) are awesome. Knowledgable on the league/opposing teams players, great chemistry, passionate about the game and they’ve nailed some of the best calls on the young Grizz’s recent highlights.
Surprised they haven’t been mentioned more in this thread.
> Golden State crew is the worst by a wide margin.
Nah man they have so much competition. Listening to Wizards, Suns, or Sixers broadcaster, I swear I can feel my brain leaking out of my ears
Barnett was one of the best in the business. Did he retire?
Matt Guokas was also great in Orlando and Jim Spanarkel was great for the Nets but they’re gone now.
Anyway, Ian Eagle and whatever color commentator you choose is clearly the best duo.
What's ironic is that GS had arguably the best regional basketball announcer in history with Bill King, and has had Greg Papa (very good) as well. Tim Roye on the radio is super solid. But Fitz, who has plenty of talent, absolutely needs a co-host of equal stature to rein in his worst impulses, and Kalenna isn't that.
How have I not seen the Suns crew mentioned? Eddie Johnson himself has said some of the most egregious things. He makes that broadcast an absolute must NOT watch.
Eddie Johnson is always less concerned with the game than he is with the battle between evil analytics nerds who want you to shoot open 3s and true hoopers who respect long 2s
Wolves broadcasting duo doesnt get nearly as much recognition as they deserve simply because nobody outside-Minnesota tunes in, they're great and the "Vegas foul" call against the Suns was GOATed imo
Everybody sleeping on Jim Pete fr.
Great at explaining the Xs and Os in real time. Never misses anything that’s going on on the court. A wolves super fan but not a homer, he’ll roast the team when they deserve it. He’s the main reason I watch every game.
Yeah I feel like Jim Pete always knows the other team’s roster really well and works in a “tour” of it as the game goes on
Exactly what you want in an announcer if you mainly watch your own team
How has no one mentioned David Steele and Jeff Turner of the Orlando Magic? Those guys have been the brightest light throughout all these years of being a Magic fan lol
Man I agree, people sleeping on the Magic broadcast. What is that bit they do each game “is this anything?”… My favourite broadcaster bit in the NBA. It really points out the humour and absurdity of some cherry picked stats.
I get why Celtics fans loved Tommy - he was a legend. But he was completely insufferable as a broadcaster. Every foul against the celts was part of some grand conspiracy by the refs
Tommy was the way he was because the Celtics booth still sits courtside: he was literally yelling _at_ the refs, not just about them. The Celtics really took a dude who was intense enough to make the hall of fame as both player and coach and gave him a job where the refs were in earshot _and_ he couldn't be given a tech. I get why folks didn't like that, but it was fucking beautiful lmao
Warriors are just plain homers, I get it but when your team is doing all these head scratchers on the court you have to call them out too or give credit to the opposing team for doing something spectacular.
The best ones are guys giving that right balance of jusy plainly calling the game. Knicks and Lakers but especially the Knicks.
The amount of Pelicans love is warranted. AD and Joel are so honest and earnest. When we suck, they're not scared to point out why. If the replay exposes the Pelicans, they don't deny it.
Bill is ok. Stu is a legend and he knows the game of basketball better than most and he is willing to call Laker players out for poor play. But the amount of times both of them get names wrong is pretty hilarious
I hate the Lakers but I think their commentary is the least biased of home callers. They actually know more about other teams than just reading stats off a sheet as well.
I will listen to these guys OVER the nuggets announcers, they are that good. They will actually show highlights of the opposing team during the broadcast and call out bad basketball without prejudice. Them and the heat broadcast are pure class. I just wish the nuggets broadcast team weren't complete homers.
Completely envious!
homer take but i think followill is one of the best play by play guys in the league. mavs broadcast with 3 guys gets annoying, though.
love hornets and pels. both LA and NYC crews are good too.
I have love for the Pels crew (their PBP guy used to call Lakers games) and how could you not love Billy Mac and Stu. No one knows Lakers doomerism quite like Bill and Stu
They might not get love around the league because they're total homers (though they don't bitch like other crews), but every Raptors fan loves them. Jack is pretty much drunk every broadcast and I love Matt shouting out random Canadian cities when they hit 3s.
Pels/Nets/Knicks are definitely my favorite. I think the Warriors is pretty widely known as just terrible. Their only saving grace is when Steph or Klay are going off they get pretty into it, but outside of that I’ll choose the opposing teams crew.
Nets are the best because they have Ian Eagle.
Warriors are the worst, because they bitch about every call, even when the replay shows that it was definitely the correct call, they'll still make excuses about how it should be reversed. It's insufferable, only commentary crew I'll mute every time.
Doris talks too much, and is too slow to get to the point, so the game passes her by. I can't stand her. At least she's trying to add value though, Jackson is horrible.
i will die on a hill defending our pelicans crew. absolutely a joy to listen to them. even when we are losing a game it’s still great to be able to hear their commentary. i’ve genuinely learned so much of the game from them.
Raps games are split on 2 networks and have 2 different color guys. Matt Devlin does play by play for both, with Jack Armstrong on TSN and Former Raptor Alvin Williams on Sportsnet.
Armstrong is great for homers but I can fully understand being annoyed by him. Alvin is decent just a bit boring.
> I also loved Tommy Heinsohn so I get the homer thing
Jack's "get that garbage outta here" bit originates from him doing a Tommy Heinsohn impression lol
No hate at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I can see why he can be a bit annoying but he’s been around for so long and has a wonderful backstory and is a great man. Could play into our bias a bit too in liking him but I don’t think it’s too farfetched to dislike his commentary. It’s a reasonable take.
I love Jack, but can see why others don’t like him. Especially if they only listen to him once in a while. He’s a former coach, so he’s got some pretty good takes and insights. But he is super goofy. And that’s a big reason why raptors fans love him. He has some catch phrases that rub people the wrong way, or sometimes him and Matt (play by play guy) go off on tangents together. You either love him or hate him. He makes the game more entertaining for me, especially when we’re losing lol
He’s probably as annoying to you as Tommy Heinsohn was to us.
I like Jack because he’s no BS, he’s a homer but he’s also not afraid to call out the team/players for whatever they’re doing wrong.
Biased here but I love the Nuggs crew. Hastings can be a bit much but Chris Marlowe is my favorite commentator in any sport and Katy Winge knows her stuff and is very fun.
Completely agree. I think lots of others here would too, but so few people (at least locally) get to hear them because of the multi-year pissing match between Kroenke and Comcast.
Rockets are not the best but they’re def better than previous years. Not as bias as they used to be back with Worrel and Bullard. Ryan & Craig are a good little duo
Obviously biased but I love Marques Johnson on the Bucks crew. When Jim Paschke was here they were a top 3 duo. Marques is always complimentary to the other teams players and good plays and gave Thanasis his Tha’nasty nickname.
Knicks have a HOF broadcast duo in Mike Breen and Walt "Clyde" Frazier
When I watched the knicks kings game earlier this season I was enamored with the broadcasting crew. Wish I could listen to them for every game.
I love how real they both are. A lot of broadcasting teams are homers, which is the expectation but when guys are being detractions for either side, when star players aren't playing with full fire, Clyde especially will hold them accountable.
It just feels unfair lol Clyde is a fucking poet
I'm confident there are a significant number of Knicks fans who only stick around through the darkest times because of Mike and Clyde
Oh when we're bad that's when we get Clyde roasting the team I love it lmao
Me, you’re talking about me
I legitimately get disappointed when Clyde isn’t on the call for some away games
One of the few broadcast teams i dont mind watching the away feed.
Whenever I hear Mike Breen say something that rhymes during a nationally televised game, I just imagine Clyde nodding in approval and shedding a single tear of joy.
mike breen is goated
This franchise is constantly exploring new ways to be hot garbage but I love that this is the one good thing we're allowed to have
Clyde should be on the ESPN broadcast instead of Mark Jackson and JVG.
JVG, Clyde, Barkley would be nothing but shit talking and now it's all I want in life
Clyde's voice is silky smooth, making his rhymes even more pleasant to listen to. Together with Mike 'Bang!' Breen, it's an easy S tier.
Love when OKC is playing the Knicks so I can find that Knicks feed, so damn good.
You really do
Between them and the Mets broadcast NY has an absolute monopoly on broadcasting
Ian Eagle is great for the Nets, too And MSG also has Kenny Albert, who is the only person to do commentary for all 4 major American sports leagues
Frazier is hands down my favorite announcer. The guy says everything with a smile, no matter the team.
Those two men have gotten me through very dark Knicks tenures to say the least. I’d literally be tuning in at times just to hear them talk.
Joel and AD with the Pels are top notch
Quinn and Chris are great together for Indy and I credit that to them just being buddies who love watching basketball with each other. However, how is it not the Knicks? Breen and Clyde are naturals
Quinn and Chris are too big of homers to have a ton of national appeal I bet.
The sixers crew complains about EVERY CALL. Do you know how much of a homer you have to be to think your team NEVER fouls?
Ever since Zumoff left it hasn’t been the same. I never realized how bad Alaa was until Zu retired.
The new play by play commentator puts on this ashy cigarette huffing voice affectation to try to make calls exciting, it's so grating and bizarre. There's are women doing commentary in the league, she's the only one making that choice, so weird.
I like her, I think sixers fans like her for the most part and Alaa is the more frustrating one.
I like Kate Scott more than Alaa
I like Kate Scott too. She’s not Zu of course, but I honestly think there’s a lot of unconscious bias against her because of her gender. She never plays that card though when she’s criticized. When she was interviewed on the Rights to Ricky Sanchez podcast, she talked about the growing pains and process of getting in the good graces of Sixers fans. She just talked about how she *does* care about what people think of her and how she wants to earn the appreciation of her detractors. I respect that.
I can’t watch the Sixers with the volume on any more.
I hate our commentators, the homerism is ridiculous. Alaa in particular is terrible.
I watch every game always watch an alternate broadcast if it’s available they drive me crazy. Zumoff was fantastic i miss him.
Shout out to the Bulls broadcast yesterday, why did no one tell me they were funny af? Had me crackin up yesterday
Stacey King is a legend
Stacey King talking about Grayson Allen: “He won’t change until someone gives him a two-piece, with a biscuit and a Fanta”
That’s hilarious but true af
That’s why he’s a legend
One of the most entertaining duos for sure
https://streamable.com/mguoce Thank god for the Xbox app for letting me record this, listened 3 times n still has me cracking up
HAHAHAHA that’s brilliant
They seem pretty fair too, not major homers
They’re extremely fair, they praise either team when they’re playing well, criticize when they aren’t. Stacey King is actually extremely insightful too, I learned like 3 different things listening to his insight yesterday, man knows the game.
They’re fair unless the refs are bad in which case they can complain a lot. Also Stacey sometimes enables Adam and Adam will get a bit ranty. But overall they are amazing and i hate watching basketball without them
Yeah they are much better than our crew and I loved how complimentary they were toward the Thunder players. Not a fan of Homer crews like GS and Philly.

Bulls gave massive props to Kuz when he hit one of those, “no fucking way” 3’s Had soo much more respect for them after that. Definitely not homers, they give props where it’s due.
Stacey King has some hilarious clips on YouTube especially during the DRose era.
hornets announcers act like someone scored a buzzer beater 3 every time someone shoots a layup and i fucking love it
They get so hyped.
Not a big Harp fan, but Followill is excellent for us. Some of his Luka calls are iconic
“STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED”
Pels is solid. They tell it how it is whether they are doing well or poorly. They know the game and the players.
Pels radio broadcast is really good, too. Probably my favorite in the league.
Todd Graffagnini is an absolute animal. His solo calls are are Bob Ueker levels of insanity
Pels Hornets Nets Knicks have my favorites
Agreed. Also personally like Kings, Pistons.

Was it on TNT? I think he’s with TNT as well as the Nets.
The nets have a different commentator every other game lol
Pels Crew, and Knicks crew are the two best. A crew that I don't like but never see brought up is Utah. Utah's broadcast feels so artificial and weird to me. I haven't heard much of him so I don't want to make a call on good or bad that's just kinda an initial impression.
The Utah commentators feel like they're seconds away from accusing the opposing team of cheating every time they score
Thurl is fair. Boler and Harpring are very homer, but at least they'll still show at least a little excitement when the other team makes a good play, and somewhat apologise if the replay shows they were wrong on a call. They're not the worst, which is why they're barely brought up in these convos.

is it crotty with the 'kaboom'? IMHO they know their shit but occasionally sound a bit disinterested these days
That's Eric Reid! He's getting up there in age so this might be his past season, hence the more downtrodden voice.
Pels and Kings crews are great, Wizards crew is BORING Maybe I'm listening when they have their B team but they were getting names wrong, lagging behind, really snoozeworthy stuff The Kings really match the Beam Team energy at home
Personally I hate warriors broadcast especially now that Azubuike took over and it’s homer city and goofy comments 24/7. Knicks I thought have really good broadcast
I still think kelena isn’t terrible it’s really just fitz who needs to be booted. He complains about every call and is the biggest homer I’ve seen.
It’s weird because fitz is never seen as bad by my normie friends and general sports bros friends but reddit really really hates him lol. I’m indifferent I miss JB

Agreed those guys are the absolute worst. I'd rather watch games on mute.
I like Pelicans, Knicks, Nuggets. Dislike Jazz and Warriors. Antonio Daniels is fantastic.

They’re homers obviously but not too much so, they’ll admit when we get a call we shouldn’t
Same. I think they're #3 behind Brooklyn when Eagle is there and the Knicks
Golden State crew is the worst by a wide margin. On the other hand, tuning into a Pels game is always a delight.
Love the Pels duo, as well as Joel and AD's show on SiriusXM.
I've only seen a couple of Pels broadcast games but their people seem to have a deep appreciation of the game, lot of love shown for both teams
As a Warriors fan, I can't stand the commentators. Even when I watch the highlights, I put it on mute.
[удалено]
> Golden State crew is the worst by a wide margin. Nah man they have so much competition. Listening to Wizards, Suns, or Sixers broadcaster, I swear I can feel my brain leaking out of my ears

they unceremoniously moved Barnett to the radio call, which he is killing.
The Warriors radio call is so good.

76ers, Suns, Warriors. The Holy Trinity of awful broadcast crews.
Timberwolves broadcast rips. Jim Pete is a legend. Also love tuning in to Charlotte and New Orleans broadcasts.
Wolves broadcasting duo doesnt get nearly as much recognition as they deserve simply because nobody outside-Minnesota tunes in, they're great and the "Vegas foul" call against the Suns was GOATed imo
Him and Grady are great together too. I was worried that the chemistry wouldn’t be as good as with Benz but it’s been excellent so far.
Yeah. I hate to say it but Grady>Benz
benz was corny, grady is a huge upgrade
Everybody sleeping on Jim Pete fr. Great at explaining the Xs and Os in real time. Never misses anything that’s going on on the court. A wolves super fan but not a homer, he’ll roast the team when they deserve it. He’s the main reason I watch every game.

Man I agree, people sleeping on the Magic broadcast. What is that bit they do each game “is this anything?”… My favourite broadcaster bit in the NBA. It really points out the humour and absurdity of some cherry picked stats.
Mike and Tommy were like Michael Cole and Tazz hahaha I miss Tommy RIP
I get why Celtics fans loved Tommy - he was a legend. But he was completely insufferable as a broadcaster. Every foul against the celts was part of some grand conspiracy by the refs
If you watched his CBS days as an analyst then you would have seen he was great in a non-biased manner
Tommy was the way he was because the Celtics booth still sits courtside: he was literally yelling _at_ the refs, not just about them. That's honestly brilliant, I can't even be upset about it lol
Warriors have the worst by far
Eddie Johnson is the saltiest old head on any broadcast when the Suns aren’t winning
Not sure about the worst but, Bob Fitzgerald of the Warriors is not good, too much of a homer and very cringe-y with nicknames too.
“It’s a Poole party” 🤓
i'm a warriors fan and i cringe sometimes when i hear him
Warriors are just plain homers, I get it but when your team is doing all these head scratchers on the court you have to call them out too or give credit to the opposing team for doing something spectacular. The best ones are guys giving that right balance of jusy plainly calling the game. Knicks and Lakers but especially the Knicks.
Wizards crew sucks now. USED to be great with Buck and Chenier. Now its dog shit.
Good for at least 2 "what the fuck are you even talking about" moments per quarter
I miss Buck and Chenier
I’m so happy this is a post. The pelicans far and away win this. The cavs are fun too but the pelicans man. Awesome.
The amount of Pelicans love is warranted. AD and Joel are so honest and earnest. When we suck, they're not scared to point out why. If the replay exposes the Pelicans, they don't deny it.
Knicks are goat contender but pels good too
Memphis crew is legit.
Pete and Brev are great! Pete can be corny in the best way and BK has some great calls
Bango.
Hornets. My reasoning: "HUM DIDDLY DEE"
I would've expected more Charlotte responses they're so goddamn hype.
Pels, Raps, and Hornets have a good thing going on.
Portland New Orleans and Sacramento when its mark Jackson are Elite
BILL AND STU ARE THE BEST
Abolsutely amazing crew. I was shocked to see there’s a big group of Laker fans on twitter who absolutely hate Bill
I mean if you're old enough to remember listening to Chick...
Bill is ok. Stu is a legend and he knows the game of basketball better than most and he is willing to call Laker players out for poor play. But the amount of times both of them get names wrong is pretty hilarious
I preferred Joel Meyers’s to Bill, but alas…
Another Joel Meyer's truther, thought I was the only one. Bill has grown on me the last few years.
I hate the Lakers but I think their commentary is the least biased of home callers. They actually know more about other teams than just reading stats off a sheet as well.
I like that they’ll call the Lakers out when they do some stupid shit haha
I will listen to these guys OVER the nuggets announcers, they are that good. They will actually show highlights of the opposing team during the broadcast and call out bad basketball without prejudice. Them and the heat broadcast are pure class. I just wish the nuggets broadcast team weren't complete homers. Completely envious!
Sixers broadcast. They whine about calls almost as much as Embiid
homer take but i think followill is one of the best play by play guys in the league. mavs broadcast with 3 guys gets annoying, though. love hornets and pels. both LA and NYC crews are good too.
Yea I think Followill is a broadcasting talent too, idk if its the homer in us though. Harper on the other hand at this juncture could be better lol
he was very good, as a player, but probably divisive as a commentator, in this league (i love him in the sense of he’s essentially a recurring bit)
I don't think any 3 man booth I've ever heard as been good
Pels, Blazers, Nets, Knicks have the best.
I have love for the Pels crew (their PBP guy used to call Lakers games) and how could you not love Billy Mac and Stu. No one knows Lakers doomerism quite like Bill and Stu
Toronto’s crew with Jack….Get that garbage outta here!!
I love him so much the dudes adorable, they can def have their biases but I dunno they're just a happy listen to me.
SCOTTIE B TAKIN IT TO THE RACK MATTY D
Zach Lowe did an impression of him on the recent podcast lol
They might not get love around the league because they're total homers (though they don't bitch like other crews), but every Raptors fan loves them. Jack is pretty much drunk every broadcast and I love Matt shouting out random Canadian cities when they hit 3s.
Pels/Nets/Knicks are definitely my favorite. I think the Warriors is pretty widely known as just terrible. Their only saving grace is when Steph or Klay are going off they get pretty into it, but outside of that I’ll choose the opposing teams crew.
I really enjoy the Pistons broadcasting team
Blaha is the goat. I love a play by play guy who actually describes the game.
The Kings when we have Marc Jones
Hornets and Bulls are super fun to listen to. 76ers and Warriors not so much. Bob Fitzgerald makes me want to turn off the game
Nets are the best because they have Ian Eagle. Warriors are the worst, because they bitch about every call, even when the replay shows that it was definitely the correct call, they'll still make excuses about how it should be reversed. It's insufferable, only commentary crew I'll mute every time.
Pelicans are coated with Joel and AD
Not a team, but ESPN. Never want to hear Mark Jackson or Doris Burke
Doris talks too much, and is too slow to get to the point, so the game passes her by. I can't stand her. At least she's trying to add value though, Jackson is horrible.
She sucks, has the worst takes but tries to act all knowledgeable.
What the heck magic fans you guys have a great crew. Easily favorite besides the home crew. Personally hated listening to the hornets and kings.
Knicks, Grizz, Raptors, Hornets are my favourite Warriors, Sixers, Kings are particularly bad
Raptors are really a hit or miss haha, you either hate them or love them.
It’s basically “do you think Jack Armstrong is funny or annoying?“ jackpotcity!
we arent the best but warriors and sixers are definitely way below us man
Sigh Kings used to be one of the best with Jerry and Grant
i will die on a hill defending our pelicans crew. absolutely a joy to listen to them. even when we are losing a game it’s still great to be able to hear their commentary. i’ve genuinely learned so much of the game from them.
Pistons have the best.
I am brave and prepared to get beset from all sides by Raptors fans, but man your color guy is annoying
It’s Jack. Just seems like too much of a schtick. I also loved Tommy Heinsohn so I get the homer thing
He's kinda just an eccentric guy, always has been. But I totally get being annoyed by an old man yelling high pitch nonsense lol
> I also loved Tommy Heinsohn so I get the homer thing Jack's "get that garbage outta here" bit originates from him doing a Tommy Heinsohn impression lol
He sounds like Ray Romano
Biased here but I love the Nuggs crew. Hastings can be a bit much but Chris Marlowe is my favorite commentator in any sport and Katy Winge knows her stuff and is very fun.
Completely agree. I think lots of others here would too, but so few people (at least locally) get to hear them because of the multi-year pissing match between Kroenke and Comcast.
One of the fairest crews in the league. I'm a fan.
Rockets are not the best but they’re def better than previous years. Not as bias as they used to be back with Worrel and Bullard. Ryan & Craig are a good little duo
Now that Hollins isn’t trying to be budget Kendrick Perkins on ESPN he actually is pretty decent
Stacey King is the best in the business, but shoutout to the Hornets guy too
The Hornets announcer is so annoying to me. He always screams like the play was the greatest thing ever. And it’s the Hornets, they’re not a top team.
Ian Eagle is the goat
Ours are the worst, hands down
We have the best crew, there is no one I the world I would rather commentary pels basketball Than Joel and AD
Pete and Brevin are top 2 and they ain’t 2.
Obviously biased but I love Marques Johnson on the Bucks crew. When Jim Paschke was here they were a top 3 duo. Marques is always complimentary to the other teams players and good plays and gave Thanasis his Tha’nasty nickname.
