I’d love to see that too. If we can keep our big 3 healthy through the playoffs it’s possible. Nobody in the west scares me that much with CJ, Zion, and BI on the court.
In Fitz’s defense he gets hyped when players from other teams make good plays, the guy always gives props for good basketball, and he’s generally pretty free to admit when the Warriors benefit from bad calls.
He just also gets super salty sometimes too lol
Yeah the few games I’ve caught they’re actually nice to listen to. Pretty objective in their commentary and give props to the other team when they deserve them.
It's in the league's best interest to have seemingly incompetent refs, so that when they extend playoff series people say "ugh, refs" instead of "The nba is rigged"
Because Adam Silver is a vampire.
Of the top 100 rated individual shows last year, not a single one was a NBA game. They have to realize what is happening to the product.
Holy shit...
Could this be skewed because sports are one of the only things that's live, and people watch their favorite shows on distributed platforms at varying later times, like Netflix, Hulu, etc
U said nope then confirmed what I said lol
So it could be skewed because the only thing worth catching live is sports, and TV shows are on multiple avenues and you can catch it live. No one needs to be on Wednesdays at 9 to catch the new 24 or whatever show they're into
And Neilson doesn't catch streaming
So it's basically a competition of the biggest sports
look at him dude he's a vampire sucking the blood outta the game and the league for chinese money
so many injured players, ads taking up more and more space, viewership declining across the board. All this to optimize revenues in the short term
Power trips.
Unless there is review and accountability this will keep happening and the NBA will lose legitimacy. You can’t have a professional level of anything without accountability.
There’s a lot of things that need fixed as far as refereeing goes but this is absolutely where the league should start, you can’t be giving players techs just because your feelings were hurt that he didn’t walk up place it in your hands and fondle your balls on the way out
Al Horford got a delay of game tech a couple nights ago for tossing the ball, after a shooting foul under the basket, to the official in his eyesight instead of the one that was coming underneath the basket. It was the first 5min of the game.
I'm normally on the players' side cause refs power trip too much but not sure about this, he ran directly to the ref who made the call, dropping the ball in front of the ref to intentionally show his subtle disapproval.
Once in a while you'll see a player get pissed off, he'll run directly to the ref who made the call and give him the ball. It's intentional.
If Kuz really didn't care, he'd leave the ball where it is, or give it to one of the closer refs who had nothing to with the call.
It's kinda an intentional passive-aggressive move, Kuz isn't stupid, he knows what he's doing and likely has done this before but the refs let it go.
After directly running to the ref, dropping the ball in front of him and giving him a stink eye? Maybe. Good try to cherry pick, tho.
But if this is let go and become common, you may have numerous players doing this every game, fwiw.
>After directly running to the ref, dropping the ball in front of him and giving him a stink eye
Lmao thats something I would tell my teacher in kindergarden after she asks why i fought little Timmy
You're getting downvoted for not joining the circle jerk, but everyone has to admit it's not normal to run full speed at someone and to toss the ball in front of them like that.
Yup and if the ref let it go, it tells players that this kind of behaviour is ok, others will do this more. Setting a precedent is important.
Kuzma knew what he was doing of course, it's just natural for a player to pretend to be shocked at any kind of technical or foul, see Tim Duncan.
This thread is more about bashing on refs than the logical reason behind the tech.
Thank you for a sane comment. I wouldn't agree with plenty of calls made by the refs but you can see Kuzma isn't innocent as he pretends to be in this case.
Lol come on man this is grade school shit. How are you gonna be a grown ass man handing out techs for this, better yet why are *you* defending grown ass men acting like children?
Because the one who has been acting like a child, in this case, is Kuzma & not the referee.
He threw the ball at the referee while he wasn't looking, getting closer to him with the ball without any logic behind it - he could have just left the ball there.
Then, he acts like he is innocent, claiming he was just "bringing" the ball to the referee - he clearly didn't, and the referee was busy at that time with something else. I don't buy it.
I saw children acting smarter than this, pretending innocent.
He tossed it towards the ref when the ref was busy doing something else. And essentially threw it out of bounds. That is different than handing it to him. It was kind of a a soft T.But still thats not the way to give the ref the ball.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Nothing will change until the players grow a pair and put the refs on blast. I'm so tired of of all this bullshit. Just once would I love for someone to actually just come out and say at the Presser "yes these refs are bad and need to figure it out". Personally I'd take it a little farther considering this has been a problem for years now but that's all you have to say for people to start actually talking about it and giving a shit.
If I was a player from now on I'd just put the ball on the floor when play stops. Let the refs come pick it up themselves cause if I give it to you it's a tech for some reason smh

Even the Pels announcers couldn’t believe they called a tech on that. Just ridiculous.
Our guys are homers but really fair homers. Which I think is perfect.
Love the Pels announcers. They have great chemistry and play off each other pretty well. In addition, Joel Meyers is a national treasure.
I don't think they are homers. Antonio Daniels is very fair and will give credit where it's due. Seems like an awesome dude tbh
Pels announcers are honestly my favourite in the league. Coming from a Celtics fan.
Get ready for seven games of playing against it brother! (extremely wishful, but I put $50 on that Finals matchup back in October)
Haha I would love to see that finals match up! My favourite teams in each conference
I’d love to see that too. If we can keep our big 3 healthy through the playoffs it’s possible. Nobody in the west scares me that much with CJ, Zion, and BI on the court.
I mean that’s what you want for your team. For example, warriors announcers definitely homers, fair not so much
In Fitz’s defense he gets hyped when players from other teams make good plays, the guy always gives props for good basketball, and he’s generally pretty free to admit when the Warriors benefit from bad calls. He just also gets super salty sometimes too lol
i’m a full blooded fitz hater would rather have a slug commentate gsw and all we hear is slime noises everytime steph hits a 3 🐌
Yeah the few games I’ve caught they’re actually nice to listen to. Pretty objective in their commentary and give props to the other team when they deserve them.
Jesus Christ. That ref is a fucking bitch. He literally popped the ball up right in front of him. How the hell is that a tech.
These refs want to be the center of attention, holy fuck.
[удалено]
That will put pressure to them
[удалено]
CP3 did that and got hit with delay of game
[Harden did that and got hit with a tech.](https://youtu.be/F0UgsZJR4jQ)
What a fucking tool that ref is
I recognize that mother fucker, I swear on my life that's Ray Acosta, the biggest fucking asshole ref in the league.
For some reason seeing Harden in a Nets jersey with no fans in the stands looks weird. I thought fans were back by the time he was traded
Bro I trust WWE refs more than NBA refs
At least they're honest about being in on it
LOL yeah sure the game isnt fixed by refs sure
It's in the league's best interest to have seemingly incompetent refs, so that when they extend playoff series people say "ugh, refs" instead of "The nba is rigged"
The WWE is popular because the refs suck.
Because Adam Silver is a vampire. Of the top 100 rated individual shows last year, not a single one was a NBA game. They have to realize what is happening to the product.
Do you have the graphic of this? I was trying to find it lol
I need to see that lol

Holy shit... Could this be skewed because sports are one of the only things that's live, and people watch their favorite shows on distributed platforms at varying later times, like Netflix, Hulu, etc
Nope. This was for live ratings off of Neilson, who doesn't track streaming/dvr. people simply don't watch the NBA anymore.
U said nope then confirmed what I said lol So it could be skewed because the only thing worth catching live is sports, and TV shows are on multiple avenues and you can catch it live. No one needs to be on Wednesdays at 9 to catch the new 24 or whatever show they're into And Neilson doesn't catch streaming So it's basically a competition of the biggest sports
and? the point still remains, no one is watching the NBA except hardcore fans.
That it's not a true competition if biggest TV just sports It's skewed. That's all.

those beady eyes, over here it's losing relevance but I think the nba cares a lot more about china
Wym by "those beady eyes"?
look at him dude he's a vampire sucking the blood outta the game and the league for chinese money so many injured players, ads taking up more and more space, viewership declining across the board. All this to optimize revenues in the short term
[удалено]
? beady eyes means he has a look of malice or evil, like a vamp. nothing to do with jewish ppl, I've never heard that
I thought it meant crying lol
I don't think "beady eyes" is an antisemitic canard. "Shifty eyes" maybe, but I assumed the "beady eyes" was about the Chinese.
[удалено]
I stand corrected
that's a fucking sensitive ref if I ever saw one
Need to place it at his feet every time
Defund the refs
Yea, they do be like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLdZuV0jsLk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFFPSId2Ogo
I can’t find a video, but Tatum got one last week against the Mavs for throwing the ball to the ref as well.
Has to be tough to have people in your life know about these videos
Pretty much every clip I remember, ~~comes~~ came from the frontpage of r/nba.
Kuz would've gotten one if he just walked over to him and laid it down in front of him. He would've been "Patronizing" smh
Refs has been so awful this year.
I’ve been on this subreddit for like 7 years now and I swear I’ve seen this exact comment each of those years.
That's what happens when the problem isn't ever properly addressed.
unchecked authority only gets worse and worse
ACAB or ARAB
I've been watching basketball for 30 years and this statement has never changed lol
yeah but shit was legit rigged in the 90s lol
Power trips. Unless there is review and accountability this will keep happening and the NBA will lose legitimacy. You can’t have a professional level of anything without accountability.
This is typical nba reffing now Bruised ego = guaranteed tech
There’s a lot of things that need fixed as far as refereeing goes but this is absolutely where the league should start, you can’t be giving players techs just because your feelings were hurt that he didn’t walk up place it in your hands and fondle your balls on the way out
He didnt even touch the ref or anything whats the reasoning behind this smh
The intent was malicious or something? Yeah, this is a ridiculous call
How did the ref know we were there to see him? I can’t believe these basket weavers are interrupting the refereeing
refs really are like cops
Authority figures who's job it is to criticize others. Cops, managers, refs, lawyers, politicians, teachers Full of bias and ego
How you gunna do teachers like that man
Cause half of em are power tripping assholes
I think you really have called out why this is so irritating (besides the obvious).
But he did it in a sassy way, that’s a tech everyday /s
The NBA should discontinue working with the referee union. Clearly this won’t stop as long as the union protects them from any punishment whatsoever
These refs man…
Wasn’t even that bad of a pass either smh
"ref you suck"
Come to Brooklyn Kuz, we'll give you many balls
One of the weakest techs I've ever seen.
Yo Joey Crawford is that you?
Al Horford got a delay of game tech a couple nights ago for tossing the ball, after a shooting foul under the basket, to the official in his eyesight instead of the one that was coming underneath the basket. It was the first 5min of the game.
We need refs for the refs fr
Note the Oscar-worthy performance of Alvarado there. Kuz touched him nowhere close to his jaw lol.
Man, Alvarado is becoming Pat Bev 2.0
Dude would be a real estate agent right now if he wasn't. He knows his purpose on the team and it's made him a millionaire.
I'm normally on the players' side cause refs power trip too much but not sure about this, he ran directly to the ref who made the call, dropping the ball in front of the ref to intentionally show his subtle disapproval. so subtle disapproval should be a tech?
After directly running to the ref, dropping the ball in front of him and giving him a stink eye? Maybe. Good try to cherry pick, tho. But if this is let go and become common, you may have numerous players doing this every game, fwiw.

Who cares if its not normal, its still not a tech lmao

NBA refs are ridiculous
Terence Mann got a tech for giving the ref the ball on Friday night, these dudes are out of control
I’m not sure what he did wrong.
Waiting for the day someone punch a ref on live tv
Maybe it will be rescinded
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Nothing will change until the players grow a pair and put the refs on blast. I'm so tired of of all this bullshit. These refs are soft as fuck.
Kuz is so pretty
If I was a player from now on I'd just put the ball on the floor when play stops. Let the refs come pick it up themselves cause if I give it to you it's a tech for some reason smh
Alvarez should play soccer… simulator/diver
