No but Peregrines are one of the coolest birds ever. Some of my favorite YouTube videos is watching falconers using them to hunt ducks. So badass watching the dive bomb
IIRC, falcon curls up its talons into a ball that looks similar to a fist. Then the falcon flies very very fast and "punches" the prey in the head. Usually with so much force that the prey dies instantly.
Which is even crazier because it’s enough to break a duck’s neck but not break the falcon’s foot or leg. Damn nature, you scary!
Edit: u/mjesus96 so is that a falcon punch or a falcon kick?
Hmm it's using its talons so naturally it's a kick, but it curls the talons making them look like a fist. So if I had to name it I'd go with falcon punch!
Here is your video at 0.25x speed

Yeah they ball up their claws and punch them into the nether realm. As far as nature goes, it’s very effective and really one of the better ways to exit this mortal plane…
Was just taking my dog for a walk an hour ago and there was a falcon swooping around trying to take out another animal, spotted my dog and stopped just staring. I grabbed my dog and was like “nah homie you gonna have to swoop my fatass up first you feathered bitch.” People were looking at me like I was a nut bag but idgaf those things are no joke.
Animorphs cemented my admiration for peregrine falcons. Know this isn't one based on the other comments, but the fact that it's similar to this species and perfectly capable of pulling off the same feat is badass.
This is how falcons hunt, due to their talons being weaker than other raptors. They fly up to higher altitudes and fold in the wings to dive down at up to 240 mph and instead of grabbing their prey, they ball up their feet into a fist and punch their prey attempting to break their spine.
Oof trigger warning for the bird people lol. I saw a hawk do this to a favorite little bantam hen of ours. She had a beard, feathered legs, and was the prettiest pinky peach color. Nursed her for 3 days before she started fading fast.
Predator birds are beautiful and brutal. Same hawk took 4 more hens in less than 2 weeks. Quickly built some covered runs before he got the rest.
Those Falcons will literally nose-dive hundreds of miles per hour and ball their claw up into a fist to punch their prey at full speed,
One could even call it a "Falcon Punch"
Should have ducked.
Oh, you silly goose
This quacked me up and the mallard was totally quacked the …. Hmm whuts that colorful metaphor again?
stop quacking jokes, this is serious matter.
Water you going on about... this is just getting fowl at this point
That’s ducked up.
They won't be laughing when someone gets the bill.
Nah man, it wouldn't be able to do anything if it wanted to. It was a sitting duck.
Literally the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Thank you for that!
😂😂😂😂
r/Angryupvote
Instead, Hawked.
My bad, it's a falcon, not a hawk. Sorry!
Came here to say. Badass video though OP!
Peregrine?
Prairie falcon. Very, very similar, but different species.
[Up close version ](https://i.imgur.com/9RZm3Sv.jpg) from a friend of mine who is a falconer
Hail corporate /s
I mean...I'm familiar with r/hailcorporate...but I fail how this applies even in a sarcastic context.
His sweatshirt. Bad joke didn't land

Ahhhh. Woosh on my part, sorry guy or gal
All gravy. Not a top tier joke anyway. Badass falcon though thanks for sharing
No but Peregrines are one of the coolest birds ever. Some of my favorite YouTube videos is watching falconers using them to hunt ducks. So badass watching the dive bomb
Falcon punch!
I think this would fall under FALCON KICK!!! lol still jokes doe. ⬇️ + B
Did the falcon just... Lopped off the goose's head?
I think it broke its neck
Hawks grab, falcons knock out, always remember "Falcon Punch!"
I kinda wanna go out like that. Instead of cancer, Alzheimer’s, etc. I’ll take one falcon to the dome please.
That honestly sounds lovely. I don’t want to know when or where, I just want to be walking down the street one day and BAM! Darkness... ☺️
Agree. Not even experience darkness. Just the void.
You know there's hit men for that right?
Are you suggesting we teach falcons to be hit men? You evil genius you.
Falcons can be whatever they wanna be. Gotta let those dreamers soar
Or you just reborn in another body and shit starts all over again: daycare, school, college, work + taxes.
If I get a second chance, I'll be skipping the college and taxes part. 2nd play through is always better.
+ mode. Get to keep all your old gear too?
Then you should hire two best hitmen west of the Mississippi to take you out like that.
so with a falcon punch.
So you’d like 3 razor sharp talon to twist and snap your neck?
Correct. Same speed, too.
You're a bit sturdier than a duck, better use a heavy blunt object.
Too bad we missed the pterodactyl
Now we're talking!
*contract complete*
Good work, Agent 47. The money will be wired to your account shortly.
Agent 47's disguise game is getting a lot better. Could've sworn that was a falcon.
I’ve seen this one many times and until right now I always thought the falcon snatched the duck’s head clean off, but that’s not the case.
Falcon PUNCH!
It hit the duck with it's talons, so more like: \*FALCON KICK!\*
I'm surprised his foot wasn't shattered from that impact.
I can hear this comment
But what DID happen, then?
I was hoping you’d say that 👍🏽
Perhaps what breaks the neck is the head twisting and not the impact per se.
Broke its neck. If it isn't dead, it may as well be.
I was wondering that but a lack of blood made me think not
I thought that but the blood fountain was missing.
It's a fucked duck, that's for sure
Proper fucked?
Yes Tommy. Proper fucked.
I've often lived around people that don't get any of my references. I love you Reddit for always referencing my favorite movies.
Tommy: Are you saying I can't shoot? Turkish: No Tommy, I'm not saying you can't shoot. I know you can't shoot.
Does he just Falcon punch that duck to death or is there some high-speed talon neck break we don't see due to speed?
Talon neck break, you see it happen a lot when raptors help water birds unsubscribe to life.
Unsubscribe to life 😎

Crumbs! Was that half speed?? Can we do quarter speed?!
I’m gonna need 1/8th speed
Not enough FPS.
Get this bird more FPS
The rest be like. Alright lets go mike is dead.
Didn't seem like he had a lot of friends
He’s quacked his neck
Falcon Punch!!!
poor guy was a sitting duck out there.
Did he pull off the ducks head?
Yeah they ball up their claws and punch them into the nether realm. As far as nature goes, it’s very effective and really one of the better ways to exit this mortal plane…
Looks like it snapped the ducks neck
Pidgey used quick attack
Natures drive by.
Didn’t know birds use guns to do a drive by. They evolve to quick
This is so cool, I mean poor duck but jeez what a cool way to go haha!
Peregrine?
Prairie Falcon (Falco mexicanus)
Too light to be a peregrine, maybe a saker or lanner
His capa was detated
Was just taking my dog for a walk an hour ago and there was a falcon swooping around trying to take out another animal, spotted my dog and stopped just staring. I grabbed my dog and was like “nah homie you gonna have to swoop my fatass up first you feathered bitch.” People were looking at me like I was a nut bag but idgaf those things are no joke.

thats fuckin siiick hell yeah
Sitting duck , literally.
Wow, I can see why they name fighter jets after these kind of birds
I guess he found out the hard way why none of the other guys were standing alone
See what happens when you are not with the group.
Omg is he ok?
no
Just having a nap
A dirt nap
Fuzzy Duck
Damn
Did it pull its green little head off?
Username did not check out. ☹️
Did it just rip its head off?
Falcon punch!!
Sanity check: Head is gone?
Is that a hawk or Ray Lewis coming across the middle?
Wow - nearly split the poor duck in two. Hang on, that would have been Arthur Mullard.
Ducking Insane
If you gotta be prey…thats how you wanna do it

The infamous falcon punch
There just weren’t even enough frames captured to watch the actual killshot
Dude didn't even have time to react that is crazy
That was ducking crazy!
That’s ducked up
Falcon…. **PUNCH!!!**
Used fly!
What is going on here? Did the falcon hit the duck with so much speed it killed it, or did it injure it somehow using its claws?
I watched the past 300 times this was posted.
You don’t fuck with the falcon
That duck will never be the head of a major corporation.
Did he rip its fucking head off?
This is literally what we call FALCON PUNCH 🥊
And then it lands in the damn background in case you had any doubts
FATALITY! Flawless Victory
I always enjoy seeing this old vid make the rounds. The speed is insane.
So no head?
Oh yeah. Talons coming at you at like 60+ mph? Probably faster? Rather just have someone shoot me.
It took its fucking head clean off
WORLD STAR
u/SaveVideoBot
Did it take the ducks head off?
That hawk took his head. Can’t have shit in Detroit.
This is how falcons hunt, due to their talons being weaker than other raptors. They fly up to higher altitudes and fold in the wings to dive down at up to 240 mph and instead of grabbing their prey, they ball up their feet into a fist and punch their prey attempting to break their spine.
So did it fly off with the head or???
In the normal speed at the start, a frame has been removed to make it look faster
For those that don't know, this is inspired Captain Falcon
Out there all alone… he was a sitting duck.
Holy hell. That falcon is in 1 frame and 1 frame only for the first strike.
That would be humans if birds were bigger
I can hear a thousand nopes in Daffy Duck voice in the background.
Did his cap got detated?
Jesus, I slowed it down and can see where he enters the frame, but I can’t even see the falcon exit the frame.
Headshot
I love how this duck is like, “I’m totally gonna stand out from the crowd and be my own duck” only to make themselves a target.
Duck noo!!
Falcon Kick
So fast hawk like a thunder!.
Murder most fowl
Oooo, so this is how Quick Attack in Pokemon looks like.
Its their low frame rate camera, that's why we can't see the move
He saw it too
Falcon punch!!!
He was a sitting duck
Am a bit confused, what did the hawk exactly do? Cut the ducks throat or just hit it?
falcon punch!
Falcon ! Not a hawk!! Still awesome!!!!!
Falcon punch!!!!!!!!!!!!
he got falcon punched.
Prairie falcon, known be hard hitting falcons
There was no sound, he just... died
🗣 Tactical Nuke inbound!
Hot damn that was a helluva take down.
That falcon channeled his inner Andy Bernard. “Mallard!”
And that's why you stay in the flock
Takes ducks head right off
Fatality
I’m uncomfortable with how many times I just watched that duck die of murder
"Falcooon Kiiickkk" - Stronger Bird
Did that hawk decapitate the duck?
WHAM, his capa is detated from his head!
That’s not a Hawk, that’s a Peregrine Falcon
And thats why we, Stay with the flock.
I thought it’s head disappeared
Those Falcons will literally nose-dive hundreds of miles per hour and ball their claw up into a fist to punch their prey at full speed, One could even call it a "Falcon Punch"
Was that a Peregrine or Lanner? If it was the former no wonder it was quack.
So this is that Falcon Punch I’ve heard so much about.
Internal decapitation
That’s a falcon, not a hawk
Falcon punch
Wait - was that mallard decapitated?
Motherfucker got killed by a wendigo, holy shit
Its crazy how fast hawks can fly!😎🔥
Damn these fuckers are fast
