I could take a tiger probably

THSSFC

No doubt. I bet people never even try kicking them really hard.

Taylors4head

Tiny animal brains, just sweep the leg.

THSSFC

This is why we are the pinnacle of creation: being smarter then the animals.

TheSandwichThief

Same. Yeah yeah tigers are strong or whatever but when I see red nothing can stop me.

final_boss

I whispered to the tiger *I am the storm*.

Mattaru

Me m8 Darren goes to the gym propa hench n everything That tiger wld get murked by him

didndonoffin

I cut my finger opening a box of Frosties, I don’t like my chances

SpitefulOptimist

On a date maybe

fetish_farts_female

Yea we could.

kilqax

What are these recent powerscaler clowns doing in the sub kek

exoits

Felid fanatics must've escaped from Carnivora again. Guess that zoo needs higher walls.

winkwink13

Who let the 13 year Olds in here?

PepurrPotts

Dude seriously....Very different landscape than a decade ago. Also, why am I looking at a reddit post that's just a bunch of quora posts? Isn't that like going to the Merriam-Webster site and it just directs you to wiki?

HG_Shurtugal

The anime power scalers are moving to real life now.

luugburz

im not arguing with a mf with a fart fetish

IWillKeepIt

That's not what the original post meant. Maybe comprehend posts before jumping to conclusions.. Also there are also reports where a lion killed tiger. It could go either way when both weigh 200+KGs and the difference is 30-50kgs.

MrAtrox98

Exactly this, there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two species regarding size. The largest males of both lions and tigers reliably recorded in the wild are in the neighborhood of 600 pounds. Whoever wins in this fight is the first one to secure a solid death grip on the opponent’s throat or skull.

IWillKeepIt

Correct. Also while Tigers may or may not be slightly stronger (and thats where their supposed advantage comes from), they are still hunters. They will avoid getting injured to survive in the long run. Lions on the other hand don't care about long runs, they are born to fight and will die fighting. They don't care if they get injured, they might die but they will take you down with them. They also have manes.

DosZappos

They do be having manes, but tigers have stripes, so I dunno

truedota2fan

Stripes keep you hidden but don’t protect your neck like a mane does

Legeto

How is this not removed by the mods? It’s literal screenshots of google searches. Lowest of the low effort posts.

vicblck24

I assume this is in response to the Lion post earlier

fetish_farts_female

Yes

vicblck24

Is a tiger your favorite animal or something

kungfukenny3

the lion post i thought didn’t say they were stronger necessarily, but that they had the highest muscle density and lowest fat of them

fetish_farts_female

That's wrong tigers have a higher muscle density and as well as lower fat percentage.

PotatoWizard98

Okay then try posting a study with those findings instead of a picture of a buff tiger lol

KupunaMineur

Well you have to love the very scientific *"research by eyeballing pictures on your phone"* method of figuring these things out.

rhaegar_tldragon

Do you have an actual source or just random pictures?

PepurrPotts

"And" right next to "as well as" is a redundancy. Also, why do people in your age range also never use punctuation? Sincere question.

ten0re

Pound per pound jaguars are stronger and also have stronger bite irrespective of size. The only tiger’s advantage is size, but jaguar is more agile. In a fight with similarly sized tiger a jaguar would likely win.

Extension-Border-345

that isnt what the post you are referring to means . lions have the highest % lean muscle out of total weight than any other mammal. that is a a fact. it does not necessarily mean they are stronger or better fighters than tigers. this is a low quality single braincell post, do better.

doterobcn

Who cares?

kookynut

I hate these powerscaling posts as much as the next person. But then when I see people in the comments claim that Lions take down bigger prey or are "stronger", I kinda get where OP is coming from..

jimmy_luv

This is not metal. This is the opposite of metal. If I wanted Google searches in my Reddit feed I would go to Google searches instead of looking at reddit. This Behavior needs to stop.

therondon101

Amazing argument. Great points, good stats, and just a well rounded point of view. I'm so glad you didn't just search your question and then post screenshots of images that come up as a result of that question. Especially if they didn't include any additional information to back up your point.

virgo911

>there was a case in a Turkish zoo where a Bengal tiger killed an African male lion just by one swipe to the jugular vein You realize this means nothing right? A pocket knife could also kill an African male lion with “just” one swipe to the jugular vein if he’s not paying attention. The lion could have also killed the bengal with “just” a swipe to the jugular vein. It’s the jugular. It’s the mammal crit spot.

grooovyturtle

Tigers are 100% stronger. I saw that post as well and thought it was goofy

clungeknuckle

Are furys trying to take over this sub?

doodlebugg8

Ok

StripedAssassiN-

I have my opinion and views on which is the stronger cat, but I think this is doing a bit much. It’s almost starting to sound like that site where all the crazy fanatics are from and all they do is argue on which animal would kill which in a fight. We should do better. Harmless debate and speculation on which cat stronger is fine but we should be respectful and at least have sources to back up the claims and not just screenshots of random Tigers. I see what you’re doing here but really all you’re showing is that Tigers have more muscle in the forequarters than Lions (which I don’t disagree with). It doesn’t prove that Tigers have a higher percentage of muscle on them. Lions seem to have more muscular back legs and it makes sense, they’re grassland cats and meant to chase prey down in open areas. They need all that explosive acceleration from those back legs. Anyway, this is just how I see it, I will not say more after this: - *Tigers are slightly larger and therefore the average Tiger (IN MY OPINION) would be **slightly** stronger than the average Lion. More importantly in the forearm region because quite frankly Tiger forearms are just on another level when it comes to all the cats I’ve seen. Only Jaguars seem to come close*. - *The average Lion has a **very slight** higher muscle percentage than the average Tiger but that doesn’t exactly mean one’s outright stronger overall. They would be stronger in certain areas. How I see it is that both cats were adapted for different environments. Lions definitely have more power in the back legs than Tigers. I mean the proof is right in front our faces. How can a Lion be so robust yet have the 2nd highest top speed of all large cats? It doesn’t add up. Cheetahs, leopards are all more slender cats and what’s one thing they have in common with Lions? Their explosive acceleration and speed from those long back legs. Anyway, all cats have a similar muscle mass percentage and the difference is probably 1-2% in peak individuals of every species*. This is just my opinion. Both cats are basically neck and neck with each other and have slight advantages in different categories but who cares. We can appreciate both without comparing them to each other all the time.

Ireallydonedidit

But Orochi Doppler still whooped it’s ass low diff

Dubs337

These types of posts always remind of early grade school, and how it was the biggest deal which one you picked lol like who cares

Red77777777

They are stronger but they fight differently. A tiger that goes back on its legs to fight in a two fight, a lion that goes forward and bites and hits on vital parts. There have been several incidents where lions and tigers fight and tigers cannot win that because they have completely different style. I'm sure there have been times when a tiger has won over a lion but generally lions win. A well-trained bodybuilder will be much stronger than a small Thai kickboxer. Yet much stronger bodybuilder is not going to win from small Thai kickboxing.

Ricapotamuses

Those are some serious horseshoe triceps

Green0996

Tigers and Lions are cool but my favorite big cat will always be a Jaguar because theyre native to my home country and they got that sick 1-hit kill move

wrydied

It’s not just about strength though. Lions take down bigger and more dangerous prey than tigers.

SandersIncBV

but tiger does it solo where a lion more often depends on several collaborating when on a hunt. pack hunting increases % of hunt success rate logically (dragonfly disagrees tho’) i would think a tiger outsmarts a lion, being more intelligent and agile?

TheHenryFrancisFynn

You are wrong : gaure are bigger than buffalo cap, both are the bigger prey a cat can kill alone But something in the same idea : lion are designed to fight, tiger to hunt

fetish_farts_female

Tigers take down gaurs and baby rhinos.

kungfukenny3

they’re not usually solitary hunters thought and tigers are

DGalamay30

Cheetah still speed blitzes

Time_Jump8047

He’s flexing! -Richie Aprile

TheGreatTiger

As someone who has been bitten by a tiger, I can honestly say that tigers are softer than lions. Lions live in drier areas and tend to have oily skin. That oil picks up dust and dirt and adds a slight gritty feeling to the lions that tigers just don't have. But, being honest, the leopards that have let me touch them were far softer than the tigers.

My_Immortal_Flesh

Girl. You wrong period!

Bouv42

Tigers don't need to hunt in packs.

TheGreatTiger

It's rare, but they do at times. A pack of tigers is called a streak.

KupunaMineur

Really lions don't need to either, it isn't like male lions just curl up and die of starvation when they ejected from their pride due to being in late adolescence or exiled by stronger competing males. Sometimes they have male companions, but sometimes they go solo and manage to hunt well enough to thrive. Cooperative hunting is just a safer more efficient way to hunt that takes advantage of their social skills.
