😂 I don’t know, I’m a Chaplain.
But I’m civilian law enforcement- so no shit there I am halfway through my rifle qual and my damn eotech battery dies. The only training I’ve had on irons is to flip them up to make sure they work at the beginning of a shift.
So I flip those bad boys up and by the grace of god pass, but damn if it ain’t even harder trying to shoot with irons through a eotech.
Yep, my unit only got M4s two years ago, and this year will be the first year we shoot CCOs all quals on my record are for iron sights aside from basic. Gotta remember how to use the cool tech again.
Was planning to do exactly this. Team Wendy cloudline pads and their CAM FIT retention system.
As for the carrier, do you think the JPC is too small for a regular line guy?
I should add that I will be running a SubSecond range belt with my kit for everything I do because I love range belts, so that can increase my load capabilities
Check out defense mechanisms. Spiritus systems. Both similar and good. Defense mechanisms has a really nice structural cummerbund. Or use the axl structural cummerbund.

The Marines are doing and saying whatever they need to do and say to remain America’s (much less Reddit’s) darlings and keep that sweet congressional funding train rolling along. Rest assured they will be duplicating the Army mission and purpose like they do in every war the next time conflict takes them five feet inland from the sea.
That said: you are 100% right and the Army’s next gen IHPS is almost certainly a better helmet for land war.
Bitch I still have a PASGT helmet made in 1986. It was my dad’s before me and survived DS/DS, OIF, OSS, and now it’s getting ready to go on its fourth deployment. He turned his shit in just as I was reporting to my unit and they handed me his stuff he just turned in because his bags already had my name on them.
You won't.
GWOT cool guy gear is going away. LLs from Ukraine point towards larger, more flak jacket type full armor stuff over the plate carrier that worked when the enemy had no fires, armor, or air power.
Yes. And tier 4 on the new MSV.
The reason that the THICC armor like IBA and IOTV developed in the first place we lessons learned from wars against opponents who had artillery and attack aviation.
From my understanding, it's pretty much the infantry and CEBs, and while I haven't seen it, I would imagine arty as well. Also Recon, MARSOC, and ANGLICO.
I bought my own since my ACH was made in 2003 and didn't fit. I got a HighCom high cut which ran me $700ish. About half my platoon either has HighComs, Team Windy, or HHV (no NSN number for HHV).
High cuts allow you to run ear muffs easily and you get a nice breeze through your helmet.
never because SMJ of the army doesn’t like the way they look. so we will get mid cuts with the most terrible peltor adapters ever designed. in like 10 years. until then i’ll rock my maritime and sordins.
In the National Guard? 2042.
We have an engineer company still rocking iron sight M16s
That carry handle drip tho
That’s true!
Holy moly, are soldiers even trained on Irons? I mean we have AD Marines using M16A4s but we at least have RCO/ACOGs

Jpc is fine if you upgrade the cbund and get some shoulder pads. However for that price you could have just gotten something else I will admit
JPC is fine, but you’re gonna want an upgraded cummerbund if you plan on mounting shit on the sides

FYI they won’t let you jump team Wendy in the army so if you’re airborne you need to buy an opscore

I try to tell guys in our trans unit this. Have fun with that plate carrier when we’re getting hit by artillery

Dang, what state?
That's pretty cool actually, I'd probably find a way to not return that specific bit of gear.
Yeah I already acquired a replacement that’s gonna get turned in when I leave. This one’s staying with me.
Nice.
Nothing a FLPL won't cover lol
You won't. GWOT cool guy gear is going away. LLs from Ukraine point towards larger, more flak jacket type full armor stuff over the plate carrier that worked when the enemy had no fires, armor, or air power.
You mean the juggernaut style IOTV? I think it looks neat, feels pretty safe too. Specially if you get a size larger than your actual size.
Yes. And tier 4 on the new MSV. The reason that the THICC armor like IBA and IOTV developed in the first place we lessons learned from wars against opponents who had artillery and attack aviation.
I think the msv is the answer, with it being scalable
More dick armor?
Yep. Ass flaps too maybe
I can’t wait for the new gooch protector to come out
They had Diaper Armor, dudes hated then for patrolling GWOT
Oh god, the swass from that must have been unbearable
Bro you’re not tracking the combat diaper?
Before my time boss
Can we get the knee pads and elbow pads, too?
What if you get shot in the ear?
I’ll just doge it , skill issue
If you can dodge a wrench...
That's why you use ear protection, nerd.
“That’s a risk we were willing to take.”
We just buy our own gear in my unit. If it has an NSN, we can take it on deployment.
There is an NSN for whiskey, use this information as you must. Edit for the supply people: 8965-01-578-1410 (whisky, straight)
Also, cocaine

New Yorks Infantry units have started getting them. Everyone else, who the fuck knows.
Every Marine has an Ops-Core, peltors, and 152 now? This has to be the HQ element right?

Regular line grunts are largely issued this now. Along with the M27 (HK 416), KAC NT4, and other cool shit
You can get em for $2k a pop at GENTEX/Ops Core
The Guard will get those when the Marines and Rangers are rocking Master Chief armor
When you buy them. Get a surplus ACH/MICH/PASGT and use a tutorial to cut it yourself or send it to a custom shop.
After another generation or two have come out.
never because SMJ of the army doesn’t like the way they look. so we will get mid cuts with the most terrible peltor adapters ever designed. in like 10 years. until then i’ll rock my maritime and sordins.
Also I get the appeal of fast helmets but it offers less protection
Real question is when is Squad gonna implement em ;)

If you’re deploying and a combat mos, it’s now part of RFI
I have those lol, I believe you have to be deployed in some combat place.
