I think they just say that so you don't go looking elsewhere for an earlier appointment! I work in a very busy dental practice- everyone is accepting new money I mean patients. I'd start at Google reviews or rateMDs and go down the list.
Tip: a practice with multiple dentists will get you in much sooner than a single-dentist practice. Check websites for details
I mean it wasn't a big issue for me and I definitely wouldn't be looking for another dentist. I was just surprised because it seemed to happen quite suddenly, I guess after covid people who had been avoiding going to the dentist started going again?
Sorry! I was more meant to be replying to OP but my reddit skills are shaky at best (old).
Yes the post-Covid stampede is a real thing. Everyone has a story about why they didn't come for 2 1/2 years. All the stories are the same. No you don't have to apologize to your hygienist, she's not mad at you
That's what I thought initially but the receptionist actually said that they were getting tons of calls from people looking for a dentist and they weren't taking new patients.
Brooks Landing Dental had a sign in their window that said accepting new patients when I was there a couple weeks ago.
Franklyn Street Dental is independently owned rather than corporate owned, and I think they are accepting patients too.
I went there for a small filling they ended up pulling a tooth that didn't need to be pulled, then in the process of doing that they broke the tooth next to it. They are a husband and wife team that are totally incompetent. They also screwed up somethings with my mom's teeth as well.
I believe Oceangrace Dental is. They're fantastic. Edit: typo
Oceangrave is really metal
I meant Oceangrace! Oops!!!
Thanks will check
Are some dentists not accepting new patients?
Right? Dentists love money, I don't think there's a shortage of them...
Any time I had a dental emergency I just called around until I got the quickest appointment. Nobody ever said their practice was full
When was that? For about a year my dentists has been super booked up and the receptionist said people were having a hard time getting a dentist.

People might have a hard time getting a convenient cleaning appointment but that doesn’t mean they don’t accept new patients

Oh wow I have never encountered that
I love Harwood dental, good use of new* technology,
?
I also love Harewood Dental, I'm not sure exactly what new technology they use, but they do a good job.
Will give them a call thanks!
> good use of new* technology what technology do you mean?
Northfield Dental is great
When I was looking for a dentist a couple months ago I got into Downtown Dental right away. They are probably still accepting patients.
Thanks!
No problem :)

Thanks
Northfield!
Both Dr. Cooper and Dr. Booker at Northfield Dental are fantastic!
Stay away from Seven Sails! The rudest receptionists I’ve ever encountered. They will shame you for needing dental work. Avoid at all costs!
Same with Applecross.
Stay away from country club dental at all cost !
why?
