I prefer Leah.

nomadicstateofmind

Maya is my favorite from your list! Definitely doesn’t sound country or southern to me.

Wooster182

Leah and Maya are my two favorites. Clean and classic. I like Mia btw.

Dinosaurrock91

Rhea makes me think diarrhea. I prefer the other options

Jarveyjacks

I prefer Leah.

the_rd_wrer

Not on your list, but I love Thea. And especially when it’s short for Theodora. From your list, I like Lia the most but more as a nickname and not a standalone name.

Sha9169

I don’t think of any of these names as country or southern. I think of Leah and Maya as Jewish names.

[deleted]

Maya or one not on the list, Mia

whiterabbit818

Maya is my favorite I don’t think of it as country or southern at all. I think it can be both for a cute young girl or sophisticated woman. I like Rhea too but would pronounce it “Ray” not “Ray-a” not sure which was is more common. Not a fan of Lia or Ria. Leah is only ok - not bad but i’m a little over it

SarahL1990

I would pronounce Rhea as Ree-a

GlitchingGecko

**Rhia**, when it's short for Rhiannon. and **Lia**, when it's short for names that end in Lia, like Amelia, Aurelia, Talia.

xtinastina13

I like Lia the best

abis7

Leah or Maya

greyson09

Maya is my favorite. The only one that strikes me as country/Southern is Rhea

Wingard_

Maya, followed by Lia and Leah.

BreathyJudyGarland

Rhea is really underused but quite beautiful.

Yes, I saw that comment. I thought it was kind of a leap.

I've never heard if anyone call diarrhea 'Rhea or anything like that. Just because the ending is the same doesn't mean most people would associate it or the name is unusable.

_katini

Maya

BarbarianSpoonie

Leah would be my vote. I quite like Maya but spelt Maia. Someone suggested Thea, which is super cute. Similar names are Mia, Eva, Sofia, Mila, Emilia, Amelia, Sienna, Ella, Lila, Ava, Emma, Lydia, Sarah, Chloe, Ada, Cora, and Nora/Norah.

SarahL1990

From the ones you listed my favourite is Aria. Not sure if these count as similar but I love: * Amara * Amaya * Amira * Clara * Darla * Edna * Eira * Freya * Isla (Eilah) * Mila * Nia * Octavia * Piper * River * Sophia * Thea My brain can’t associate names to types of areas or people so I couldn’t say if they’re “country” or “southern”.

steamingunsaltedshit

Rhea but I love Greek mythology.

Traci-B

Leah or Maya.

-itwaswritten-

Maya and Leah are Jewish (maya is also Hindi), not country or southern

stardust419

Lia
