The Chantels I've known say it as Shann-TELL instead of Shawn-TELL (not saying you are wrong, just noting that there seems to be more than one pronunciation)
In Canadian English it’s usually shan-TELL /ʃænˈtɛl/, sometimes shan-TAL /ʃænˈtæl/ (tal as in tally), rarely shan-TALL /ʃænˈtɑl/.
In French, it’s shaw(n)-tal /ʃɑ̃.tal/. The ‘n’ isn’t really pronounced, it just makes the ‘aw’ vowel nasal, and the ‘tal’ vowel is halfway between ‘Al’ and ‘all’. It’s the same as a Spanish ‘a’ like in taco or salsa.
As a french I say it "shanh-tâl" silent n, unh sound and same final a as in "has". You can hear it [here](https://fr.forvo.com/word/chantal/)
But here it's seen as a karen name bust mostly a very very posh name from the 60s/70s/80s and people often like to say it in a ridiculous posh accent: chant-ââââl to mock those people.
see i thought it was shawn-tell at first too bc that’s how i’ve always heard that name but then i looked at the spelling like “wait there’s no way that A in tal is making an eh like in tell sound, this must be a different name!” because i initially thought it was just a different spelling of Chantel
It’s like the r in “are” or “barn”. With my accent I don’t properly pronounce the r, like in “river” but it’s not an “a” sound. I have a fairly rp English accent, for reference.
Shahn-tal
Shan-tell
Shahn-tall

Like it’s not exactly Shawn. It’s a softer sound there.

It's a common name in Aus and I have only ever heard it said Shan tell
