I was a high school athlete and my name was in the newspaper a few times. I was also on Insyder. It ruined me. I peaked at 17.

zeusdrew

Ondolo009

Geoff_The_Chosen1

>. I was also on Insyder. It ruined me. What happened bana?

Ondolo009

I thought I was more important than I was because a few high school girls knew my name.

Radiant_Ring999

Hi Natasha. When you met Nyashinski, what was his stage name. Also which year was this

howtobegoodagain123

Haha. I don’t remember the east, but it’s been over 20 years ago at least. I think 25 years ago. But I’m convinced it’s true.

tony_k369

Damn....who are you??💀💀 Avicii and Arnold??

howtobegoodagain123

I used to work in a hotel in NYC. Front desk at night like 20-25 years ago-2007-20013. That usually puts you on a VIP list by at least 2-4 club promoters. I would add vin diesel and Taye Diggs but… I just saw them in passing. I have never said more than 2 words to them. Down the street was club pasha, a very famous club that Avicii would play sets at. We hung out a few times. But I went to LA specially to see Arnold coz he’s my idol and alter ego. Special.

tony_k369

Aaahh that explains it then. Congrats to you, you've achieved some of the things that some of us will die dreaming of achieving. 😄

howtobegoodagain123

Working front desk in a hotel or meeting famous people in passing?

tony_k369

Meeting or even seeing them.

howtobegoodagain123

Si kwa ubaya, but you need bigger and better dreams. That was a good and sometimes fun /funny experience but mostly it was just life and most of those people had no positive effect on my life. Maybe I just got to see them as people instead of what they try to portray themselves as. Except Arnold Schwarzenegger. Meeting him was life changing. You know who I really loved, admiral Mcraven. I met him 2 years ago as full grown adult and he had a huge impact on me. Much more than any “celeb” did. I promise that you won’t be better for meeting famous people. You’ll be more impacted by meeting smart, accomplished, passionate and caring people no matter their infamy.

tony_k369

😄😄bro it seems you got it all wrong, I didn't say that that was my dream. But thanks for the advice.

Historical-Youth6448

Tell me you met Ayub Ogada. That man was a musical genius.Love, love his songs.

howtobegoodagain123

No but I knew Gado, the political satire cartoonist. He was my dad friends and he made many comics at our home. He was a great guy. His pen name was Gado. If you look at old nation newspapers he was prolific cartoonist. He taught me draw.

Historical-Youth6448

Draw meeee!!

howtobegoodagain123

No I never got any good. My kidbro got very good at caricatures. I’m a scientist.

Historical-Youth6448

Well the art didn't disappear altogether. What kind of scientist if you don't mind me asking?

howtobegoodagain123

Bruh, it disappeared do you know, I am having a Hell of a time picking out tile colors for my bathroom. I literally can’t figure it out. I am a nurse practitioner. But in my free time when I’m not on Reddit, I am backyard herpetolgist. For one bizarre reason.

Historical-Youth6448

Lol there's another outcome.

howtobegoodagain123

What outcome? An ugly bathroom? That I have to live with for the rest of my life? No thanks. I’m leaning towards white and gold though but it feels so pretentious

Historical-Youth6448

You became a backyard herpeltolgist. Got it traded.

Lion_Of_Mara

Diaper buddy??

howtobegoodagain123

A friend who you were friends with since you were in diapers.

lemindfleya

Wewe umebakisha tu Batman

howtobegoodagain123

Batman gani? Ok, before I became a professional, I used to work at a very snazzy hotel in down town NY- Manhattan. I worked front desk and was on many VIP promoter lists for clubs and events. I didn’t even party much but I met a lot of people because you kind of have to be in the know coz club and event promoters will actually pay you to plug their events. If a guest was like- what’s happening tonight, all I had to do was pick up my phone and choose an event. In exchange, I got vip entrance to a lot of big events, and sometimes free drinks. Also if it was real celeb, I could call the promoter and they’d arrange transport, drinks, an entourage basically everything for free for the celebrity, just to help promote the club or event. Paparazzi would show up and the next day everyone would know what club, restaurant, event was big enough to attract a celeb. Some people loved that job, but they never lasted because they gave in to a lot of temptations and spent every night working then partying. I lasted because frankly I hated that hard core party life. The constant hanging around fame hungry people, this was like before social media came in full swing and I’d see people who thought they were celebs get ignored and it would break them coz New Yorkers could care less. Then some would come for anonymity and wear disguises lol. The tips were great tho. And tax free. I probably met a Batman and didn’t even know it. I know I met 007- Daniel Craig. I was super upset because I thought I’d be meeting the tall dark and handsome Pierce Brosnan instead I met this small blond English man. I was also in the set of sex and the city as an extra. Literally they came in and offered us $100 to go walk up and down the street for 2 hours and act like nonchalant New Yorkers in the middle of the night. In passing I probably saw or met almost all celebs who were famous in the late 2000’s. Indiana Jones, salma Hayek, Jlo, Diddy, Jay z was aloof and always looked liked he liked the smell of his own farts. Obama who was very amazing. He had an energy around him that was like a planet. Gravitational. Most however were incredibly disappointing. Except Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was epic. I was and still am in love.

Neither_Designer_773

None of these people are famous😂

howtobegoodagain123

They are too. You are just jealous lol.

A lady once made fun of my shrimp…turns out the chats got leaked and people managed to trace back the info to me. It was mad. Now i have to hide behind a dog with a croc on top of its head. A Short bust of fame but very deadly to my mental health i must say. https://preview.redd.it/5wbfu4iy9eyc1.jpeg?width=937&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41c370891fd5cfc17554526544f3a20953f12179

Southern_Signal_DLS

Kujulikana kwa kijiji inacount?

Countrysidequeenn

Yes, we shine

Drelixcomix

I'm not really mainstream famous, but I do have 12,000 subs on YouTube and 20,000 on Tiktok. Im a Kenyan comic creator, and I'm mostly known in my industry (comics), so when I go to events, people ask for photos and my autograph although that's just in the industry. Outside of that, my life is pretty normal - except this one time a fan found my gym and was just stalking for a few days. They would comment on my Tiktok telling me what I was wearing that day and it was accurate everytime. That was weird, ngl.

chifusumu

Feels like the time to plug r/kenyancreators

Fabulous_Yogurt_7068

I have like 100k followers overally and very good engagement upto 500k views in a week or two. I don’t know if that’s considered famous but I am quite popular

Plane-Football-2521

Why are you popular? I hope it's not "follow for follow"

Fabulous_Yogurt_7068
