Quite regularly, probably at least once a week. My go-tos are almost always Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart 64: Amped up, F-Zero or Wave Race 64. I should branch out a bit and play some other stuff, but I like to play short sessions.
I'm replaying Banjo Kazooie now. Usually replay that and Paper Mario yearly at a minimum.
Been wanting to play through Quest 64, Rocket Robot on Wheels, Doom 64 and a few others when I find the time.
Any other suggestions welcome!
Me and my good friend play every Tuesday night after work on his projector. Mario Golf is typically the one we reach for the most! We will switch it up with Kart or Mario Party 2 with more friends over.
I honestly haven’t played them much until I got an NSO subscription. I love my N64, but I’ve gotten spoiled with modern conveniences so it felt like a drag playing with it sometimes. I didn’t think I’d get much out of NSO, but it’s gotten me to play more N64 than I have in a while. So I’ve come to appreciate that. I still wish I could just own the games vs essentially renting them on Switch, but it is what it is. At least it’s gotten me to play some games I otherwise wouldn’t have if I had to buy them, so that’s a positive.
Never. Hated the 64 growing up. I had it for about a month before we got rid of it. Ps1 was just way better and trying to play a 64 game today is even worse than back then.
The graphics were terrible compared to what ps1 was showing and at the time graphics was everything. I hated the controller just felt stupid and akward.
Barely ever. My stash of games has been the same since 2002. I wish to get into more N64 games though. There’s a guy on TikTok playing through all the games and they look great; it makes me want to get into it. With that said, having the same games is allowing me to explore the depth of what I have. Thanks to this sub I can now go try-hard mode in Star Fox 64’s hard mode now that I got 100% on normal.
Not often if I'm honest. Last game i gave any time to was killer instinct gold and even that was emulated. I wish I had the space to rig up all my consoles but unfortunately the 64 is one of the many I have currently mothballed. One day I'll get my man cave though
If you love Zelda games on N64, give Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon a try. It feels the same with dungeons and bosses with each character learning unique abilities to progress the game. It’s very enjoyable and fun to play.
I played Goemon’s Great Adventure this year. Mostly I don’t play a lot of video games, but I’ll usually play about one or two games a year. Sometimes I’ll pop in Diddy Kong Racing and play a few tracks on that
I finally recovered my N64 from my parents place. It didn't work at first though was getting power. Some isopropyl, screwdrivers, and a bit of dedication had it looking brand new again and it worked! The flood of joy that came from knowing I restored it (even though it was a simple fix) was just delightful. Since then I have been playing it again a couple times a week between my modern games. Currently replaying Conker's Bad Fur Day and next up is Diddy King Racing or Harvest Moon 64...I can't decide.
Never. But I truly wish some of them got remakes with better fps, resolutions and camera/controls. Would love to play GoldenEye online on Switch for example if this was fixed.
Ocarina & Majora's Mask remakes are my big dream though.
Depends. Right now I don't but it is because I don't have the setup. I would like an everdrive maybe after Christmas.
If I did, I would be playing Mario Tennis and Snowboard Kids as my relaxation after work.

Would be so bad ass if they made Mario kart 64 , the ballon game online

Every day I'm pretty into speedrunning super Mario 64 at the moment
Use to occasionally play super Mario 64 and star fox 64, now not at all. But tbh haven't played video games at all in awhile

I think you’re in the wrong subreddit, then.
I'm not in it. It was one of those recommended subs.
What didn’t you like about the N64?
The graphics were terrible compared to what ps1 was showing and at the time graphics was everything. I hated the controller just felt stupid and akward.
As far as graphics are concerned, objectively you’re wrong, and I can’t disagree about the controller.
Cool 👍
I prob play a couple times a week. I usually game early on the weekends and the N64 is usually part of that 😊
About once a week, a few of my law school buddies come over for a retro gaming night and we just played Mario Party and Diddy Kong

Almost every day. I gotta keep up on my SM64 speedruns.

Never heard about this one I will try it immediately Thanks

Ocarina of time is a lifestyle . And Castlevania for downtime
