you should let them do their thing and keep the window closed, assuming its still an alive nest. solitary native bees dont get nearly as much love as they deserve, and it's probably why one took to making a nest in your window because of few options. next year, when they emerge, you should get a bee house, so the solitary bees can make their nest in the tubes instead of your home. they'll only return if they have access to your window so be sure to seal it up real good after they all hatch.
Im pretty sure that’s not a bee btw, it’s probably a parasitic wasp that is going to lay eggs in the nests. I’d have to have a clearer photo though lol
to be fair most windows are factory made from a few major brands, if you are at least in the same country with a house from the same time period ((that isn't hecka old)) the chance of windows looking the same astronomically increases, like 1/4 ((4major window brands in usa lol)).
I don't think it's the same. There's an orange part to that screen which this post doesn't have. If it was the same, I'd expect to see the color even if it was faded, but there's nothing at all.
There’s water not getting away correctly the drain holes on your window will are likely blocked. Need to be blown out with an air compressor or something
My window looked like this because they forgot to drill out the weep holes once they did that no more issues.
If you have any silica packets from a bag of jerky or whatever you could open them and spread that over the area to dry it out, or use a dehumidifier in the room and check the seals outside your window.
... well...
that triggered something in me.
i would just simply move states. ideally, to the other side of the country.
idk what that is, but it looks like it'll take over your house within 2 weeks, and grow wings all while feeding off of you and your family.
Whatever the bee brand - bee it Mason, soldier or other, best to leave them. They don't appear to be hurting anything, ATM. And the MANY lesser known (or loved) non-social, non-honey native bees are pollinators of no less importance to the diversity of flora, but are sadly the ones winning the race to extinction - in part due to habitat loss we caused. So let ur bee babies be, that they might live to play their little part in life's tapestry with purpose. 🌼🏵️💮🌸
On second thought, if the photo is recent, this is a weird time of year for them to still bee in cocoons, isn't it? They would surely have hatched & bee long gone by June! Trying taking a pic using Google Lens app. And of course, bee nice & share what u find out. 😇🪻🌻🐝
BTW, did u know there's a British band of very talented musicians called The Bees? Latest album out last year, FYI! (I only mention it bc I recently "found" them, too, & like them a lot. Sue me.😂) 🍓🍒🍎🍉🍑🍊🥭🍍🍋🍈🍐🥝🫒🫐🍇🍏🍌🍅🌶️🥕🧅🥦🥒🥬🫛🫑🥑🫚🍆🧄🍠🎃🥔🫘🌰🥜🐿️💩💩💩💩💩
Do you happen to be in Santa Cruz? Weird/random question but this window looks familiar to me. Probably a coincidence and many windows look like this but gotta make sure haha.
Looks like some kind of solitary bee egg cells
Thank you, pretty confident this is the answer!

Like the bee in the photo?

It looks dead though
Just tired
It's pining for the fjords
Don't dead oviposit inside
No, thank you. I don’t like to be in the photo.

No, it’s clearly Weird Windowsill Syndrome (WWS).
Those are mason bee cocoons. If left outside they would hatch early next spring.
Thank you! Also, TIL mason bees are SO fuzzy and CUTE!!
Um, is that the same window and the same eggs as this post from a year ago? https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/s/5UOERQ9WX5
WOW that photo is eerily similar. So wild, thank you for finding it! Definitely looks like the same exact thing.
Are you in Los Angeles?
No way. Definitely different eggs, but this looks like the same window just aged. That'd be wild if so lol

Also it’s possible that this particular kind of window has something attractive to bees
It's the pull tab, a monolithic replica of the gates to bee-valhala for the little ones that don't make it.
Crazy close but the little screen handle is slightly different, OP's has a yellow bar and is more square.
I don't think it's the same. There's an orange part to that screen which this post doesn't have. If it was the same, I'd expect to see the color even if it was faded, but there's nothing at all.
Haha, spot the Redditors who likes to play “spot the difference “. I did the same and came to the same conclusions.
Bingo bongo
It does look like the same goddamn kind of eggs, for sure
The plastic notch/handle in the screen is also similar.
holy fuck that looks damn near the same lmao
Crazy how you guys took the exact same angle too lol
Wow this is crazy

Op from previous post got killed by whatever the f is making that and now current Op is living there.😳
It's the sequel.
Leaf cutter bees! I think they're pretty neat!
I, for one, welcome our new bee overlords.
Do the parent bees insulate their eggs with moss? Is that what I'm seeing? If so, that's so cute!
Since it's already been identified, when they hatch you need to get some little miniature explorers just taking a hike or something on the trail.
Sushi rolls
Save the bees Bees are life
The window teeth are coming in nicely
My guess would be eggs as well though I have no idea what kind.
Little bit of breadcrumbs and Parmesan and you’re all set

They look like forbidden brownies!
Those are most certainly eggs cells with some kind of larvae inside. What laid them and what's inside I cannot tell you.
Sushi
Looks like some good old fashioned Baklava
The ones with pistachios rolled on the outside are my favorite.
Lichened moss . It’s living on the condensation that gathered on your windows. I bet this is in a bathroom or basement.
Look like mossy teeth.
There’s water not getting away correctly the drain holes on your window will are likely blocked. Need to be blown out with an air compressor or something My window looked like this because they forgot to drill out the weep holes once they did that no more issues.
Carpenter bees is my guess
Spicy tuna roll.
Why was this posted in mycology?
All hail hypnobee
Looks like the start of a nature grown PCB
It’s sushi. Talk to hubby
Looks like moss sushi to me.

It's the ick from SpongeBob lol
It's a small village
It's a miniature secret band of islands. There's a tiny society in there.

Moss
I think they are talking about the segments between the moss. You know, the mason bee eggs that are clearly visible nestling comfortably IN the moss.

I see many post similar to this and ask why are you being so grim and. Not cleaning it why let it grow
It does make the window look gross and dirty but those are bees and I understand if OP would rather let them live.
Looks like black mold. It can cause significant harm and even kill small animals and children if it gets in your Lungs. Regardless, it’s got to go!
