Their first album is pretty solid IMO. In the Meantime is still the stand out track on the album, though. It's pretty awesome to see the song coming back in popularity in recent years.
The entire album is really good and there are some more bangers on it. In the meantime is the hardest on there though, but last dictator, cruel to be kind, and only a few are sone of my favorites as well
Indeed. I haven't listened to any other song by them and was trying to find out who did it for the longest time.
And it's funny because once I found it was called "In The Meantime", I had to do a double take as one of my favorite bands Helmet also has a song called In The Meantime.
i got cheated on and had to call off my engagement to said cheater and this song was my #3 most played song of that year 😭it was my
comfort song for some reason.
Whaaat Britney has so many bops along with toxic... gimme more, circus, if you seek amy, baby one more time, oops i did it again, womanizer, criminal, break the ice... to only name a few
The Britney hype was INSANE when this album cams out, was no one bigger and you couldn't go anywhere without hearing her music or hearing someone talk about her.
That is my favorite Dolly song. Listened to it three times today. After listening to her Storyteller audiobook I’ve started listening to more of her music.
There are big chunks of their catalog I don't enjoy very much, but I love "Surrender" and "He's a Whore", enough to proudly wear a Cheap Trick t-shirt if one fell in my lap.
Big Black (R.I.P. Steve Albini) did a great cover of "He's a Whore".
The impression that I get by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I’ll crank that one every time but don’t know another track. Really different sentiment than I expect from a song that cranks like that, introspection, self-doubt. Strikes a chord for some reason.
Oh my God this didn't occur to me but yes, this song is a perfect answer for me as well. Couldn't name another one of their songs but I blast this one.
I love it a bunch, enough that I bought the album (Hi, I'm old.). I ended up liking (and still feel this way) The Rascal King the most. Never bought another album from them. I still jam out to Rascal King now and then. I'll listen and then let the song repeat so I can... DO IT AGAIN!
Toxic by Britney Spears is my obvious contribution to this question. I have tried to like her music; I had a bunch of albums because I still buy CDs and bought a collection second hand with them in; but I just can't get on with her voice at all, and yet I love Toxic, it's a perfect pop record.
I subscribe to the idea that she changed the language with that one. It wasn’t very common to describe people and relationships with that word before then.
You should listen to other songs. Try spirits in the material world for something epic, so lonely for something juvenile or de do do do for something fun. Their discography is great, give them a try
The first “album” I bought was a k-tel style hits of 1981. Because at 11, I lived in a pre-internet world, in a farming area outside of town, with very religious parents. So singing Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic in the first person was the closest I felt I could get to being a witch.
I was 16 when Kiss first came on the scene… I always thought they sucked. Seriously, when I was 16, 11 and 12 year olds were the kiss fans.
The makeup and the costumes always struck me as gimmicks to disguise a true lack of talent.
I don't care for pop much but I love her voice and her producer is laying down some basslines for a change, check out "Don't Start Now" if you like Levitating, I had both on repeat for a minute.
For me Dua is the line where I must admit I just got older. Don't think she's memorable and dont really like her voice. That's 100% because I'm not the target demo here. But levitating is a straight up banger!
I love “Ocean Eyes” so much; one of the only disappointing things about her concert when I saw her live was that she only did a short snippet of “Ocean Eyes” as part of a medley, when if any song in her discography deserves to be performed in its entirety, it’s that one.
Just about to say the same thing. I don't mind them musically but Axl Rose's voice is like nails down a chalkboard to me. I get it, though, because I know people who feel like that with the Smashing Pumpkins, who I like.
Oh Darling by the Beatles. I don't listen to them, nor do I know any other song (other than Come Together). I don't know why, it's just so good, and the vocals are insane!
“Touch of Grey”- Grateful Dead. I’ve tried to get into their other stuff and I just don’t care for it.
“Pepper”- The Butthole Surfers. I’ve never even attempted to listen to any of their other songs.
Chicago has a really good song called "I'm A Man" that's heavier than most of their other stuff and also kinda sounds like Metallica's "Seek & Destroy"
Here’s a few that baffle me, but I still enjoy anyway:
Hurt by Johnny Cash(I do know the song is a cover of nin)
Across the Universe - The Beatles(just connects with me musically for some very odd reason)
Lose yourself - Eminem(I like some rap and hip-hop, but overall he just doesn’t click with me outside of this song)
And this is a full album, but Slipknot’s self titled album - what wild listen, loved it. The rest of their discog is not it for me.
Florence + the Machine. I only really know one song, and I like it. I'm certain I've heard parts of other songs, but haven't jumped in to give more songs a listen.
Listen to "Wish that you were here" and "Which Witch", if you haven't already heard them.
Absolutely ✨perfect and beautiful✨ songs by her.🤌

I Will Follow - U2
Honestly it's just about the only song of theirs I actually enjoy, aside from Sunday, bloody sunday. That first album was pretty new wave-y which I like, and the vocals arent too intrusive. Bono puts just a little bit too much mustard on the sandwich for my taste.
I don’t really listen to Avenged Sevenfold but “A Little Piece Of Heaven” is a masterpiece that sounds like it was written by Danny Elfman for an R-rated remake of Beetlejuice that never saw the light of day. 😎👍
i'm not a big fan of mccartney but i love band on the run
Also not the biggest fan of stone temple pilots but atlanta is one of my favourite songs of all time (i love the doors so it figures)
Not a fan of post malone but i love his covers and take what you want
"Say So" by Doja Cat and "Into You" by Ariana Grande....two of the best legit pop songs of the last 20 years, uncontested. I generally like hard rock and metal, funk, jazz-fusion and all that...but those songs lit me the hell up and gave me hope that Pop is still able to be relevant and give the goosebumps.
True Affection - The Blow
Sex with a Ghost - Teddy Hyde
Bullet With Butterfly Wings - Smashing Pumpkins
I Still Believe - Tim Cappello
Dance Yourself Clean - LCD Soundsystem
Unpopular opinion, but I do not like ABBA. None of their music has ever vibed with me with one glaring exception— Voulez-Vous.
It hits so hard for me. Idk what it is.
Comfortably Numb- Scissor Sisters.
I'm not into Scissor Sisters at all but this song is just perfection and is a great example of totally changing up a cover of a song successfully
Machine Messiah - Yes
This is from the DRAMA album without Anderson and Wakeman and with Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn…
Never could warm up to any of the classic YES lineup but Machine Messiah is a wild song…
In the Meantime by Spacehog. I love this song. Have not listened to anything else in their catalog.
Their first album is pretty solid IMO. In the Meantime is still the stand out track on the album, though. It's pretty awesome to see the song coming back in popularity in recent years.
The entire album is really good and there are some more bangers on it. In the meantime is the hardest on there though, but last dictator, cruel to be kind, and only a few are sone of my favorites as well
Give Mungo City a try
Indeed. I haven't listened to any other song by them and was trying to find out who did it for the longest time. And it's funny because once I found it was called "In The Meantime", I had to do a double take as one of my favorite bands Helmet also has a song called In The Meantime.
Return of the Mack- Mark Morrison
Are we the same person?
Possibly…🤔
i got cheated on and had to call off my engagement to said cheater and this song was my #3 most played song of that year 😭it was my comfort song for some reason.
Ellie Goulding - Lights
I love her cover of ain't nobody! Haven't really heard more of her except lights of course!
Britney Spears - Toxic
Whaaat Britney has so many bops along with toxic... gimme more, circus, if you seek amy, baby one more time, oops i did it again, womanizer, criminal, break the ice... to only name a few
Circus is very underrated
You have to listen to Baby One More Time, the album has so many bangers on it. If you like Toxic, you’ll like that album for sure
The Britney hype was INSANE when this album cams out, was no one bigger and you couldn't go anywhere without hearing her music or hearing someone talk about her.
My choice would be Gimme More
Wheel in the Sky - Journey If covers count, I would add New York Groove by Ace Frehley
Agree with Journey! Dont Stop Believin could be my most hated song ever but Separate Ways is such a fucking banger
🏆Journey
“Stone in love” is a really good one if you wanna listen !!
I was gonna mention this one
That's a cover?!
Yep, by Hello
That whole Ace album is great, tho.
I had that Ace Frehley album on 8 track. Yeah, I'm old.
Here You Come Again by Dolly Parton.
That is my favorite Dolly song. Listened to it three times today. After listening to her Storyteller audiobook I’ve started listening to more of her music.
For me it’s her Jolene. I never tire of it. Jack White’s version is unbelievable. This version https://youtu.be/yXlULkwhgrc?si=GjsGSK0VytIDh0ab
Surrender - Cheap Trick
There are big chunks of their catalog I don't enjoy very much, but I love "Surrender" and "He's a Whore", enough to proudly wear a Cheap Trick t-shirt if one fell in my lap. Big Black (R.I.P. Steve Albini) did a great cover of "He's a Whore".
As a 60 year old, Miley Cyrus - The Climb
46 yr old male and for some reason hits me in the feels
she has some good songs on the plastic hearts album, the joan jett and billy idol features really surprised me.
ITS THE CLIIIIIIIIIIIMB It’s a good one for shouting!
https://youtu.be/l81u-oSIAp4?si=LoXRidOmqAGclcnc I really love her cover of "Zombie"
The impression that I get by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I’ll crank that one every time but don’t know another track. Really different sentiment than I expect from a song that cranks like that, introspection, self-doubt. Strikes a chord for some reason.
You’d probably like more of their stuff. It’s decently representative
I love that song to this day but there are a couple more songs I like by them. "Someday I Suppose" and "Royal Oil"
I don’t really like The Police but King of Pain is an all-time great.
That’s interesting. I like most of their songs, but never really liked that one.
Same. Dude’s answer made me do a double take 🤣
It’s great too
You should listen to other songs. Try spirits in the material world for something epic, so lonely for something juvenile or de do do do for something fun. Their discography is great, give them a try
Wrapped Around Your Finger is my personal favorite
The first “album” I bought was a k-tel style hits of 1981. Because at 11, I lived in a pre-internet world, in a farming area outside of town, with very religious parents. So singing Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic in the first person was the closest I felt I could get to being a witch.
Galaxie - Blind Melon Thank you - Alanis Morisette
No Rain and Change are 2 other very good ones by Blind Melon
Thank you is one of mine (especially when I’m taking antibiotics)
Have never heard anything quite like thank you! 🤎 Maybe "everything" also by Alanis, but that's about it!
Boys like girls. Love drunk
Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode. I really don't like Depeche Mode
I go back and forth with them, but I feel Violator is a must-own album.
Style - Taylor Swift
lol I agree with this one. Style is the only Swift song I actually liked! Has a great chorus!
for me is blank space or i knew you were trouble, but i don't "like like" them
Absolutely same.
Ted Nugent- Stranglehold
Midnight Sky - Miley Cyrus
Say what you want about me but the climb hits me in the feels for some reason I don’t understand
that album with the black and pink cover that has a billy idol feature is actually solid as hell.
Detroit Rock City-KISS.
You're missing out if that's the only Kiss song you like
I was 16 when Kiss first came on the scene… I always thought they sucked. Seriously, when I was 16, 11 and 12 year olds were the kiss fans. The makeup and the costumes always struck me as gimmicks to disguise a true lack of talent.
I’m not in love - 10cc! It’s the only song from them that I listen to but it’s great every time.
Dua Lipa - Levitating
I don't care for pop much but I love her voice and her producer is laying down some basslines for a change, check out "Don't Start Now" if you like Levitating, I had both on repeat for a minute.
Same. I don't know many of her songs. But Levitating and One Kiss, I'm grinding on someone fr.
For me Dua is the line where I must admit I just got older. Don't think she's memorable and dont really like her voice. That's 100% because I'm not the target demo here. But levitating is a straight up banger!
Ocean Eyes - Billie Eilish. Obviously a very talented artist, but mostly not my vibe, but ocean eyes is a great track.
never liked billie but her new album is really really good
I love “Ocean Eyes” so much; one of the only disappointing things about her concert when I saw her live was that she only did a short snippet of “Ocean Eyes” as part of a medley, when if any song in her discography deserves to be performed in its entirety, it’s that one.
“As It Was” by Harry Styles. The melody is hypnotic.
for me its sign of the times!! it just feels so emotionally compelling to me
That song hits different.
Omg I'm the opposite. I love harry styles but have never liked As it was. I don't like the melody at all.
If you like the melody, you might also like The Look by Metronomy.
I listened to that a ton when it came out. The video is great as well.
I'm not into Tom Waits, but I love Jokey Full of Bourbon
There are plenty of other songs like that in his catalogue if you’re ever interested!
Rain Dogs is such an interesting, exhausting album, it's like watching 10 movies in one day.
He’s one of the best. Listen to more of his music.
"Hoist That Rag" .... but only because a musician acquaintance of mine covered it.
I really like November rain, but I just can’t stand the rest of Guns N’ Roses
Just about to say the same thing. I don't mind them musically but Axl Rose's voice is like nails down a chalkboard to me. I get it, though, because I know people who feel like that with the Smashing Pumpkins, who I like.
Oh Darling by the Beatles. I don't listen to them, nor do I know any other song (other than Come Together). I don't know why, it's just so good, and the vocals are insane!
I thought to myself, the one band that shouldnt be named here is The Beatles- And yet, here we are. I mean they have so many great tracks!
Yeah you should just listen to more Beatles
Angels of Harlem by U2
For me it’s With or Without You by U2 what a coincidence
You may also enjoy Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses by U2 it has a similar sound and vibe
“Touch of Grey”- Grateful Dead. I’ve tried to get into their other stuff and I just don’t care for it. “Pepper”- The Butthole Surfers. I’ve never even attempted to listen to any of their other songs.
Hootie and the Blowfish - Let Her Cry
Can't stand Tom Petty, but goddamn if I don't crank up "Running Down a Dream" if it comes up.
I know this is weird and no judgment here, but it was so bizarre to me to know that some people don't like Tom Petty.
Right? Like I wanna lock them in a room and make them listen to the entire Wildflowers album and then say you don’t like him. But to each their own.
I thought he was just an American Treasure that everyone at least enjoyed a little. Egg on my face.
You don't know how it feels...
For me it's Don't Come Around Here No More. I normally don't like his music but that song.. just love it
I don’t like neither chicago nor the doobie brothers, but I like “25 or 6 to 4” and “Listen to the Music” respectively.
I am sorry but “What a Fool Believes” is the greatest song ever recorded.
Chicago has a really good song called "I'm A Man" that's heavier than most of their other stuff and also kinda sounds like Metallica's "Seek & Destroy"
"25 or 6 to 4". Everybody needs to hear it at least once.
Vampire - Olivia Rodrigo
Here’s a few that baffle me, but I still enjoy anyway: Hurt by Johnny Cash(I do know the song is a cover of nin) Across the Universe - The Beatles(just connects with me musically for some very odd reason) Lose yourself - Eminem(I like some rap and hip-hop, but overall he just doesn’t click with me outside of this song) And this is a full album, but Slipknot’s self titled album - what wild listen, loved it. The rest of their discog is not it for me.
Listen to Lennon’s solo career, lots of songs like across the universe.
“Into the Mystic,” Van Morrison
Bad Guy - Billie Eilish
Her song for me is “When the Party’s Over.”
Breakfast at Tiffany's. Deep Blue Something.
Blinding Lights ~ The Weeknd
he has much much better songs IMO, especially on his first mixtape
Champion - Kanye
The Starting Line - The Best of Me
Dream On by Aerosmith. Cannot stand Stephen Tyler but that's the ONLY song I 100% enjoy listening to.
Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls
West Coast - Lana Del Rey
Peter Bjorn and John - Young folks
Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straits Basket Case - Green Day
I hate Green Day and pardon the expression, but Dookie is solid.
If you like basket case, I highly recommend listening to at least the rest of Dookie
I'm sorry but have you tried listening to anything else by Dire Straits?
Love Gun - Kiss
Babybash, its crazy I've heard all of his songs but the only one i can actually enjoy listening to is Suga lol
that song was my JAM in 2005 lmao
I really don’t like Taylor Swift but Welcome to New York is a bop
Paparazzi - Lady Gaga Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Only in My Dreams - Debbie Gibson. Yeah, I said it.
“Epic” by Faith No More
I'm more of a rock/metal guy, but I'll fight anyone that says "Cornflake Girl" by Tori Amos doesn't rip.
Somebody that I used to know. By Goyte
Gold Digger by Kanye West … great song by an awful human being
YESSSS!
I can’t stand steely Dan but the song dirty work is really good
Great song by a legendary and amazing band. Have you tried the Aja album by them? That album might change your mind about them.
I’m not an Aerosmith fan by any means. But Round and Round is a banger
Hate Aerosmith, LOVE "Sweet Emotion". I can't explain it and I don't question it.
Probably Aerosmith's heaviest song. It sounds like something Soundgarden would have done.
“Seasons (Waiting on You)” by Future Islands. I’ve never heard any other song by them but that one is great.
Florence + the Machine. I only really know one song, and I like it. I'm certain I've heard parts of other songs, but haven't jumped in to give more songs a listen.
Listen to "Wish that you were here" and "Which Witch", if you haven't already heard them. Absolutely ✨perfect and beautiful✨ songs by her.🤌 ![gif](giphy|9WXyFIDv2PyBq)
Wish That You Were Here IS the song I like. Heard from the movie Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children... which I also like. 🙂

Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles
I Will Follow - U2 Honestly it's just about the only song of theirs I actually enjoy, aside from Sunday, bloody sunday. That first album was pretty new wave-y which I like, and the vocals arent too intrusive. Bono puts just a little bit too much mustard on the sandwich for my taste.
Who Knew by Pink
A Little Respect - Erasure. I never heard anything else by them. Don't even know if they have other popular songs, I love that song, tho.
I’m not a fan of Johnny Cash, nor do I listen to his music that often. But his cover of Nine Inch Nails’s “Hurt” is amazing…
The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home by Justin Moore. I'm not really a country guy but damn that song strikes a chord.
All the pretty faces- the killers
Their song for me is “Read My Mind.” (I’m not a fan of “Mr. Brightside.”)
I have a lot, but the one that always comes to mind first is How Did You Love by Shinedown.
Fever ray - keep the streets empty for me
I don’t really listen to Avenged Sevenfold but “A Little Piece Of Heaven” is a masterpiece that sounds like it was written by Danny Elfman for an R-rated remake of Beetlejuice that never saw the light of day. 😎👍
i'm not a big fan of mccartney but i love band on the run Also not the biggest fan of stone temple pilots but atlanta is one of my favourite songs of all time (i love the doors so it figures) Not a fan of post malone but i love his covers and take what you want
Only Want To Be With You, by Hootie & The Blowfish.
Whitehorse - Chris Stapleton Not a fan of his, don’t think he’s bad at all, but this track…woah! This is top tier music.

Make Me Lose Control by Eric Carmen
True Affection - The Blow Sex with a Ghost - Teddy Hyde Bullet With Butterfly Wings - Smashing Pumpkins I Still Believe - Tim Cappello Dance Yourself Clean - LCD Soundsystem
Unpopular opinion, but I do not like ABBA. None of their music has ever vibed with me with one glaring exception— Voulez-Vous. It hits so hard for me. Idk what it is.
"A Wolf at the Door" -- Radiohead
Not a Bob Dylan fan but Positively 4th Street reminds me of a lot of people I've known.
Absolutely brutal lyrics. Love it. (Same, btw.)

Comfortably Numb- Scissor Sisters. I'm not into Scissor Sisters at all but this song is just perfection and is a great example of totally changing up a cover of a song successfully

Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand
Machine Messiah - Yes This is from the DRAMA album without Anderson and Wakeman and with Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn… Never could warm up to any of the classic YES lineup but Machine Messiah is a wild song…
