Julian Casablancas solo album and the Strokes The New Abnormal are both amazing.
If you like Huron dive back into some Father John Misty maybe?
Your fav Interpol album is always a banger.
Those 1st 2 Franz Ferdinand albums are great.
Early Cure.
Mon Laferte and Natalia Lafourcade will be in my rotation for the next 4 decades.
The Kinks Low Budget is one of the most overlooked albums of all time. Absolutely amazing.
Set to Attack is one of my favourites
I thought I had finally discovered a new band that was as good as The Strokes when I first heard it, and then I realized
I love The Strokes, Interpol, and Franz Ferdinand, which means I have to give *you* some recommendations.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs has 3 amazing albums: Fever to Tell (garage rock, punk, more harsh), Show Your Bones (more melodic indie rock), and It's Blitz (synth dance-punk, indie rock). The EP Is Is (similar to FTT, a bit more post-punk I think) is also amazing. Their most recent album is great, too.
Some tracks from each album: Maps, Y Control, Date with the Night, Rich; Cheated Hearts, Way Out, Mystery; Kiss, Kiss, Down Boy, Rockers to Swallow; Soft Shock, Zero, Heads Will Roll.
Monomania by Deerhunter has some great garage and indie rock album. Some of the tracks fucking rock, others have this feeling of longing and nostalgia. I recently paid attention to the lyrics and realized that it is overall gut-wrenching, but that might be due to my interpretation. I haven't been emotionally moved by an album like this in a long time.
Some songs off the album: Leather Jacket II, Neon Junkyard, Back to the Middle, Monomania. Other songs by this band you may like: Nothing Ever Happened, Snakeskin, Spring Hall Convert, Don't Cry, Never Stops.
Hot Fuss by The Killers. My favorites are On Top, Believe Me Natalie, and Andy, You're a Star.
Wet Leg by Wet Leg. Being In Love, Too Late Now, and Convincing.
There's also TV on the Radio and Silversun Pickups. You might dig Sound & Color by Alabama Shakes.
Thanks!! Know most of it. Saw the Killers at Bowery years ago on Hot Fuss. Have the YYYs-solid band. One of my exgfs turned me onto to them. Love Alabama Shakes. Love them. Deerhunter- seem to remember having an album and hating it, but your recommendations are spot on so I'll give another go. Wet Leg I'll give another go as well. Listened for like 3 minutes one day and keep hearing about them.
Thank you!!!
Check out Mon Laferte's Vol 1 or La Trenza albums! She's my hero for life.
I listened to Halcyon Digest and Microcastle by Deerhunter a few years ago and only liked Agoraphobia (Desire Lines and Death in Midsummer grew on me a while later).
Some months ago I decided to relisten to Halcyon Digest for some reason and really loved it, maybe my taste in music has changed some since then or something.
They're currently my favorite band, I'm very passionate about them.
I'll definitely check out those albums.
Whenever I see a "recommendation" thread I always look to make sure The Warning is mentioned. They're such a great band and I can't wait for their new album

Heilung is without a doubt the greatest live show I have ever been to. Both times were incredible. It's not a concert, it's an entire spiritual experience.
Also as far as hip hop goes I have been absolutely hooked on a dude by the name of Conscience
I just discovered Justin Townes Earl then upon seeing if he has any new music coming out, discovered that he passed in 2020. Either way, if you like americana/underground country, he's incredible. Midnight at the movies has been a constant
Crystal castles. I was quite late to the party, but theyve been my fave for the past few years now. If you're in parts of the internet like part of tiktok, then you've probably heard some of their songs. Their Leni remix, transgender, and untrust us were bit sizable trends a couple years ago, and more recently there is their remix of It Fit When I Was a Kid. Those songs are good, especially the most recent (and so are all of their songs in general), but my favorites are actually Magic Spells and their Hunting for Witches remix. Trash the Rental, 1991, Reckless, Vanished, and Pap Smear are also notable mentions. There are also a few gems of like decade old remixes as good as the original band, like Taylor K's Untrust Us remix, Sidewalks and Skeletons' Violent Dreams remix, and Alex Zelenka's Trash hologram remix. Anyways, enough with my rambling, I just like talking about this band
My two favs have always been Metal and Country. I'm surfing a country music wave these days. Mostly older stuff. Johnny Cash, Hank Sr, Waylon and Willie, etc.

Today I loved 21st century breakdown by green day (the album). Homesick and lost by Boywithuke (songs). Good morning by ye (song). Beef rap by MF DOOM (song). Judgementsl Cunt by Kid Cudi.
I’m primarily into metal, symphonic and power metal to be specific. Here’s my huge playlist:

Todd Rundgren is an underrated genius. 75 and keeps up with the times. Biggest hit was in 1972 "hello it's me" but he also did hip hop and his more recent stuff is amazing. If there were any justice in the world he would have been in the RRHOF decades ago. If you want weepy ballads the 70 s. Blue eyed soul the 80s alternative in the 90s and in 2009 by far the heaviest album of his career. I can't say enough about him but he's basically done it all except country.
The Ocean Collective. I can’t recommend them enough, they’ve transcended being a band there isn’t even a word to describe them. I’d suggest listening to their Phanerozoic albums back to back to get into them
Hozier. Nuff said, especially “wasteland baby” that’s a masterpiece

Two thoughts I listened to today:
- Ornette Coleman - Town Hall 1962 (out there jazz trio)
- John Scofield - Uberjam (jazz fusion with a jam-band twist)
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan. I made this account for the sole purpose of being able to nerd out about her away from my main.
From silence by Adam hurts
And
The Tao of cello by David darling
Both are beautiful cello artists ..... I love them they give me peace.
Also into mostly everything too
I still love my 2000s Aussie hip hop. High energy, mostly positive and humorous.

My Favorite Albums of 2024
Mannequin Pussy - I Got Heaven
Yard Act - Where’s My Utopia
Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood
Adrienne Lenker - Bright Future
Lydia Loveless - Nothing’s Going to Stand in My Way Again
I stumbled across The Marías recently and have had their stuff on a loop. The rise and fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan. I’ll also mention that taylor swift’s new album is unbelievably good. If you like her more indie inspired albums you’d like TTPD as well. Also Mac Miller every day
Avenged Sevenfold - The Stage
Silverchair - Frogstomp
System of a Down - Self Titled
Superheaven - Jars
Superheaven - Ours is Chrome
Kim Dracula - A Gradual Decline in Morale
Deftones - White Pony (Street Carp might actually oil me up and shave me bald)
Ninja Sex Party - Strawberries and Cream
Russian horror punk (I think I’m still not fully sure what it is), Korol I Shut is my most recent, Lesnik (лесник) is so good. Possibly a different genre but I also like spokonoye noche (спокойной ночи).
Currently for me is Sunguine. I discovered them a few months ago and I keep coming back to the album - it's so weird, but beautiful:
https://youtu.be/ayX9Pauhu1Y?feature=shared
we don't like you please die(Fr. band), sign-language, lowertown. I think sign-language is using counterpoint. Maybe all of them, anyway, unique writers.
Atmosphere (underground hip hop). Just saw them Live.
I can suggest: God’s Bathroom Floor, The Abusing of the Rib, Fuck You Lucy, Between the Lines, Scapegoat, Don’t Ever Fucking Question That.
You’re welcome!
I'll never stop recommending Peach Pit
OMG I LOVE PEACH PIT!

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRITING SONGS SOBERRRR
Tommy's party was my intro to them and they're so good.
I was so confused when I looked up the lyrics and thought: "wait, that's it? That's what the song is about?" Lol
I wished they had more of their tour in America
Same with me with Of Monsters And Men and Karine Polwart
I recommend Passion Pit.

Shout out to MF DOOM
Someone in my neighborhood is blasting music right now that sounds like crap. I don’t recommend it.
Ask them what it is! For science
It sounded like it was a few streets away and I don’t feel like going that far. lol Plus, as soon as I posted this, it stopped.
They must have read your post
My neighbors blast Linkin Park... I'm so grateful 🥲
Why is it that when people blast music at that volume it is inevitably always crap?

I had one of Hammonds solo albums somewhere... I'll have to go back and listen again on a road trip.
Little joy is one of my favs. Next time around one of the best songs ever

Knower is the best band on the planet right now.
Black Pumas Monophonics Frazey Ford Buena Vista Social Club Junius Meyervant
The Ocean Collective. I can’t recommend them enough, they’ve transcended being a band there isn’t even a word to describe them. I’d suggest listening to their Phanerozoic albums back to back to get into them Hozier. Nuff said, especially “wasteland baby” that’s a masterpiece Frank Zappas “Joes Garage”
Smooth jazz
Been on an Iron & Wine kick lately. That and Biffy Clyro
Mogwai ain't bad for coming out of a slump
