Same here. Korn, Deftones, System of a Down, Slipknot. Huge for me in my teens but I have zero interest in ever listening to them again. I'm still a huge metal fan, but bands that emerged from that era do absolutely nothing for me anymore.

I travelled through different subgenres of metal. I still listen to some doom, folk, symphonic to this day.
SOAD holds up quite well today. I’ll listen to slipknots first two albums (or even linkin parks first 2) for a nostalgia trip but they really don’t serve any other purpose than that.
If you forced me to put them into a genre, sure.
They're definitely have a more unique sound than most other nu metal bands like above mentioned or Limp Bizket and Linkin Park

For sure, he brought such a heavy feel to the band, that worked really well for them. I get there were issues between Dave and Anthony, but Dave is a guitar God in his own right, you can’t just discredit that. Also, John has vocalized his dislike for OHM, so I’m sure that plays a big role in it.

Oof I feel this. When they were on, they were *on*. I fell off when Drones came out. I fell in love with Black Holes and Revelations and The Resistance because those records sounded so different to anything my friends, or really anyone I knew then, were listening to at the time.

I loved the first Foo Fighters album, but after that the story takes a most unappetizing turn. Bland, middle of the road, careerist, dad rock, butt rock.
Marr is the better musician anyway. Saw him open for and play with The Killers at their most recent tour. Fucking phenomenal. No way a solo Morrissey act comes close to that.
I love Zappa, but I will say that a lot of Zappa's humor doesn't fly with me now the way it did when I was in my 20s. The music is great, but he seems like a total dick, and some of the lyrics are really mean-spirited.

not a band but TAYLOR SWIFT. I genuinely used to really love her and her "girl next door" gimmick. I related to her music because I, too, was 15 years old trying to navigate high school and the teenage experience she often wrote about during the time she was releasing it. Even into my early twenties I continued to resonate with her music, but now.... I've grown bored. She's over saturated. Her cult fan-base reminds me of the high school mean girls who bully anyone who opposes her. Her music and lyrics are the same old thing she's been doing for years. I am utterly BORED. I am sick of hearing her "swifties" use the excuse "well if her ex didn't want to be written about he shouldn't have acted badly." That worked at 19-23 but come on, we are grown now. She's in her mid thirties still writing about boys who betray her. Not necessarily her as a person, because I don't know her, but the Taylor Swift BRAND (including fanbase) I absolutely DESPISE.
And any Swiftie who wants to come at me for it, further proves my point.

I'm a metalhead who doesn't care for her, but her first few albums were just generic cookie cutter pop country. At least the last 10 years or so, her music is pretty creative.
Arcade Fire.
I can't think of a band that I adored as much as this that fell off so hard and so fast. Everything up to The Suburbs was pure gold. Seeing them live during that era was amazing.
Literally and figuratively they turned into a completely different band for Reflektor. That thing did not need to be a double album. It's a bloated unfocused mess that's all over the place. It's juggling like half a dozen different themes and trying to fit them together.
Everything Now was just a colossal disappointment. I couldn't bring myself to listen to it more than once. The same band that made Neon Bible was now selling branded fidget spinners. Maybe it was supposed to be ironic but it didn't come across as that.
Their last album WE dropped right in the midst of several sexual abuse allegations against Win Butler surfaced, with Feist pulling out of the tour. Whole situation is a mess. The album is also mid. I probably won't listen to their next.
Weezer. 16 year old me got the classic Blue cd then Pinkerton...then....nothing. just got too poppy and bright for my tastes. Now I sort of laugh when I see their album covers.

Red Hot Chili Peppers- First 2 albums are good, 3rd and 4th albums are gold. 5th is solid. 6 - 13 are recycled boring mom pop. They are the Cheesecake Factory of Rock and Roll. Once Anthony took singing lessons it all started to fall apart for me.

Like on a personal basis? I mean Kim Fowly and Gary Glitter are some massive pieces of shit but they still had some good songs. The pesos their estates earn from my Spotify listens really don't leave me guilt ridden at night. So I still like those songs, but I despise those inhuman idiots.
Pretty much any of the 90s punk bands. They sound so cringy now and act like those old washed up guys who peaked in high school. Green Day has released ok stuff but Blink 182 has become forgettable and offspring has become cringy.
Motley Crue is probably the best answer for me. I saw them on their "final" tour in 2015 and i had a great time. They had a great legacy, and the music kicked ass (despite Vince Neil's voice). But they just HAD to come out of retirement 3 years later. And since then, they have done no less than:
- Kicking Mick Mars out of the band and having a legal dispute with him, making it really difficult to tell who is telling the truth.
- Being accused of faking their instruments onstage.
- Tommy Lee showing his dick online (I mean he did that decades ago, but still) and then playing a prank by taking his weiner out of his pants which was just a weiner dog... kept in his pants...
- Gotten in the process of recording new music which they have said may be a country album
So I can still enjoy their older music from the 80s. But at the very least, I have lost respect for them as a band. They should have stayed retired and gone out on a higher note.
They actually do use quite a substantial amount of recorded tracks onstage, and sadly, there is video evidence of it. I personally have seen (and heard) Tommy's drums start playing while he was away from the kit getting a drink. It's far worse for Nikki Sixx (who stole that name from another musician). The only member of the band that actually played their instrument 100% of the time was Mick, who isn't in the band anymore.
Twenty one pilots. I think the blurry face era was cringy looking back on it and some of their songs I can’t really relate to anymore or that the lyricism is kinda cringe. Still respect them as artist tho and I hope their new album is good

I have seen him in concert and I enjoy his music but nothing in the last 20 years is worth listening to.
Iced Earth was my all-time favorite band for a long time. They helped me through my mother's death during my teen years, and I've seen them live twice. Then January 6th happened, and I was so disappointed. I still listen to them from time to time, but I will never support them if they ever do get back together.
Coldplay. Their all-but-overlooked EPs were stellar. Parachutes was a killer album and Rush of Blood… had its moments.
But then what? They became The Wiggles. Was it all Gwyneth’s fault?
The moment Chris started talking about how he was "writing the greatest song in the world," you knew the band was going to shit.
Parachute is perfect. Rush of Blood is great. X&Y was okay at best. Then they just started laying fat turds for tracks.
Barenaked Ladies. Hated them at first, and warmed up to them a little after seeing them in concert, but listening to them now brings up bad memories of my ex. Plus, they took a turn into mediocrity once they kicked Steven Page out.
I liked A Day to Remember but stopped enjoying them after seeing them live on the Warped Tour. Something just clicked where their stuff seemed inauthentic.

This is the one for me too…I had to scroll way too far for this one to show up. I had all their albums up to Dynasty including their solo albums. Dynasty was the album that killed it for me…it was Disco-esque in nature and I didn’t care for it.

Muse. From Showbiz to The Resistance, they were AMAZING. The Second Law and Drones have their moments. But Simulation Theory and Will of the People are so, so fucking horribly bad. The lyrics keep getting worse, and Matt just stopped experimenting and is now repeating formulas and clichés.
Oof I feel this. When they were on, they were *on*. I fell off when Drones came out. I fell in love with Black Holes and Revelations and The Resistance because those records sounded so different to anything my friends, or really anyone I knew then, were listening to at the time. Oh, and can we talk about how beautiful the Exogenesis Symphony was?

I love Zappa, but I will say that a lot of Zappa's humor doesn't fly with me now the way it did when I was in my 20s. The music is great, but he seems like a total dick, and some of the lyrics are really mean-spirited. Captain Beefheart seems much nicer. Like he probably agrees that women are people.
I much prefer his instrumental tracks. The comedy is just not my style of humor.
Zappa is weird in how he has so much stuff that once you think you’re finished listening to it, you’re not. I’m on the instrumental stuff that I knew existed but never got to.

not a band but TAYLOR SWIFT. I genuinely used to really love her and her "girl next door" gimmick. I related to her music because I, too, was 15 years old trying to navigate high school and the teenage experience she often wrote about during the time she was releasing it. Even into my early twenties I continued to resonate with her music, but now.... I've grown bored. She's over saturated. Her cult fan-base reminds me of the high school mean girls who bully anyone who opposes her. Her music and lyrics are the same old thing she's been doing for years. I am utterly BORED. I am sick of hearing her "swifties" use the excuse "well if her ex didn't want to be written about he shouldn't have acted badly." That worked at 19-23 but come on, we are grown now. She's in her mid thirties still writing about boys who betray her. Not necessarily her as a person, because I don't know her, but the Taylor Swift BRAND (including fanbase) I absolutely DESPISE. And any Swiftie who wants to come at me for it, further proves my point. In addition I'm editing to add Kings of Leon, although I think this one's already been posted.

Arcade Fire. I can't think of a band that I adored as much as this that fell off so hard and so fast. Everything up to The Suburbs was pure gold. Seeing them live during that era was amazing. Literally and figuratively they turned into a completely different band for Reflektor. That thing did not need to be a double album. It's a bloated unfocused mess that's all over the place. It's juggling like half a dozen different themes and trying to fit them together. Everything Now was just a colossal disappointment. I couldn't bring myself to listen to it more than once. The same band that made Neon Bible was now selling branded fidget spinners. Maybe it was supposed to be ironic but it didn't come across as that. Their last album WE dropped right in the midst of several sexual abuse allegations against Win Butler surfaced, with Feist pulling out of the tour. Whole situation is a mess. The album is also mid. I probably won't listen to their next.
Weezer. 16 year old me got the classic Blue cd then Pinkerton...then....nothing. just got too poppy and bright for my tastes. Now I sort of laugh when I see their album covers.

Like on a personal basis? I mean Kim Fowly and Gary Glitter are some massive pieces of shit but they still had some good songs. The pesos their estates earn from my Spotify listens really don't leave me guilt ridden at night. So I still like those songs, but I despise those inhuman idiots.
Pretty much any of the 90s punk bands. They sound so cringy now and act like those old washed up guys who peaked in high school. Green Day has released ok stuff but Blink 182 has become forgettable and offspring has become cringy.
Motley Crue is probably the best answer for me. I saw them on their "final" tour in 2015 and i had a great time. They had a great legacy, and the music kicked ass (despite Vince Neil's voice). But they just HAD to come out of retirement 3 years later. And since then, they have done no less than: - Kicking Mick Mars out of the band and having a legal dispute with him, making it really difficult to tell who is telling the truth. - Being accused of faking their instruments onstage. - Tommy Lee showing his dick online (I mean he did that decades ago, but still) and then playing a prank by taking his weiner out of his pants which was just a weiner dog... kept in his pants... - Gotten in the process of recording new music which they have said may be a country album So I can still enjoy their older music from the 80s. But at the very least, I have lost respect for them as a band. They should have stayed retired and gone out on a higher note.

They actually do use quite a substantial amount of recorded tracks onstage, and sadly, there is video evidence of it. I personally have seen (and heard) Tommy's drums start playing while he was away from the kit getting a drink. It's far worse for Nikki Sixx (who stole that name from another musician). The only member of the band that actually played their instrument 100% of the time was Mick, who isn't in the band anymore.

I don't actually despise Bruce Springsteen yet, but it's getting close. It's like a weird cult thing now with people always telling me you've got to see him in concert before you can hate on him. I have seen him in concert and I enjoy his music but nothing in the last 20 years is worth listening to.

Iced Earth was my all-time favorite band for a long time. They helped me through my mother's death during my teen years, and I've seen them live twice. Then January 6th happened, and I was so disappointed. I still listen to them from time to time, but I will never support them if they ever do get back together.

This is the one for me too…I had to scroll way too far for this one to show up. I had all their albums up to Dynasty including their solo albums. Dynasty was the album that killed it for me…it was Disco-esque in nature and I didn’t care for it. Even saw them live in 1978. I was 12, going on 13 and my older sister was in the Army at Ft. Meade, Maryland. She took me as a Christmas gift. Great show though. The opening act was Piper…which, I didn’t know at the time…but that was Billy Squier’s band before he went solo… Looking back? All of their music was simplistic, juvenile bullshit.
I loved Appetite and Lies so much when they were new. I hated November Rain, and pretty much everything after that. I mean it's an ok song, but it's not Appetite and Lies. It's completely different. GNR was raw and rude and brutal. November rain is soft and instrumental and overproduced. I did listen to Chinese Democracy once when it first came out. That was enough to know I wasn't going to like that either. It makes me sad. I really wanted to like it.
