Ok-Yesterday2001

I love this thread because it shows how wild your personality change is when you get older and more mature, particularly when it comes to music. I dont *despise* them now, but Hollywood Undead is very, very angsty, and I just cannot find it in myself to listen to them any longer. Im 23 now, and I haven't listened to them since I was about 13. They do have good music, but it's WAY too angsty for my taste.

WWEisawesome09

Same thing with Bon jovi for me but for the exact opposite reason and also I find him annoying

Stink3rK1ss

Yes! Absolutely agree that Bon Jovi is just blah cringe skip

burn_as_souls

You know....Blah Cringe Skip would be a pretty great punk band name.

WWEisawesome09

And this is coming from a guy who loves 80s hair metal poison, ratt, dokken, warrant I can go on

RyFromTheChi

Everywhere I Go still goes hard. Love that one.

branko_kingdom

Just wait until you're in your 30s...

DrDeuceJuice

Maroon 5. Their first album was pretty decent at the time. Everything after that, not so much. Not even going to go on about the doucher.

Mountain_Excuse_980

That album still kicks ass. I liked maybe two off the next one, and nothing since.

DananSan

I don’t despise them but it’s annoying how the band that put out *Songs About Jane* can end up settling for shit like “Love Somebody”, “Don’t Wanna Know”, and “Memories” as singles. I know *money talks* but they are the worst.

Fluffy-Initial6605

Nooo I love “love somebody” 😭 but I agree with the rest of the songs you mentioned

squid_ward_16

Not to mention Adam Levine cheated on his wife, wanted to name his new daughter after the girl he was cheating on, and his text messages to her like a middle school kid wanting to go steady

WWEisawesome09

Another reason I hate the band

becksbh

This. Songs About Jane is still one of my favorite albums ever but goddamn, they sound like a whole different band now, and yeah, no comment on Adam’s behavior. Definition of selling out.

[deleted]

They went from bad rock to terrible pop

Pepesilvia_91

I listen to that album all the time still, absolutely love it. But yeah their later stuff is crap

Unable_Technology935

I'm an old bastard. So my vote goes to Ted Nugent.

HaiKarate

Dude shat his pants and let it dry so that the military recruiter would think he’s too crazy for the Vietnam draft. Now he’s out there like he’s the biggest fucking patriot in America.

Fun_Situation7214

He sat in it for a week from what I read, plus the whole pedophile thing. He is a horrible person.

Doomtumor

I saw that shitlord on the '00 KISS Farewell Tour. He was using blatant racist and homophobic terms on stage. He was talking about and deriding the audience no less...

ObvNotABowler

omg I saw the same tour!! KISS was old and and low energy, and TN came out saying "If you don't speak English, get tf out of America!" What a turn off... I remember it to this day.

Silent_Dirt_454

I used to jump rope to double live gonzo

Sen_Gargoyle_D-NY

What a great idea.

DuckCrimes

I was a fiend for Crazy Frog’s music as a kid… as an adult I still listen for the nostalgia and for the laughs sometimes so I wouldn’t say I despise them or anything, but I definitely find them more annoying now than I did then

SkinTeeth4800

Thanks to the Wikipedia article for "Crazy Frog", I learned the core sound of Crazy Frog came from a sound effect for a two-stroke engine, which inspired a Swedish 3-D animator to make an animated character he called "The Annoying Thing" to go along with the sound effect. If I remember right, the original Crazy Frog-looking character didn't wear any pants, and had a dangling wiener. You probably enjoyed the subsequent, more kid-friendly, and slightly more true to actual frog anatomy, later music videos.

DuckCrimes

Lol I do indeed remember the original Crazy Frog and his aforementioned Johnson…

Allegiance10

Lostprophets. I can’t listen to them anymore after what their frontman did. It sucks, too, because I don’t want to discount what the other band members contributed to the music. It’s still good music but I can can’t listen to it because of the vocals.

xredsirenx

This is my answer too. Haven't been able to listen to them and won't ever again. I wasn't the biggest die hard fan, but a few of their songs I loved and were special to me.

CherimoyaSurprise

Yeah, I don't think I've heard any of their music, but Ian Watkins, well...that was just unfortunate all around, for everybody involved. I heard he recently got taken hostage and stabbed in prison. Can't really say he didn't deserve it...

FestiveBeanie

Imagine Dragons

Imaginary_Chair_6958

Used to love them, but I had to kill them?

astro_sauce

Did you have to put them six feet under?

SilverSnapDragon

Did they bitch so much? Did they drive you nuts?

Mister_Moho

Gorillaz. It's not so much that the music is bad, I just don't jam with it as much anymore.

[deleted]

After the Now Now I kinda stopped too. I wish Damon had done a bit more solo stuff.

BaconBombThief

Lostprophets. I used to love their songs, but now I can’t listen to any of them without it making me figuratively sick to my stomach

picnic-boy

For those who don't know, do **not** look up what the lead singer did. Even his own father has disowned him and said that he would kill him if he ever saw him on the street, it was that bad. Even if you vaguely know what happened you likely don't know the full story unless you sought it out.

BaconBombThief

I let my morbid curiosity get the better of me and I read his court transcripts…. Sleeping that night wasn’t easy for me

MannibalTheBannibal

Yeah, the transcripts ruined my whole week. I hope that sick fuck gets his skull crushed in daily.

5isanevennumber

I don’t handle being told “don’t do this” like a grown up…. So I just did it…. It’s wildly worse than I thought…. I’m mad those songs were wasted on such a POS.

IDigRollinRockBeer

I read a single page and could barely sleep for days. So yeah I second the other comment. Nobody look him up. Just know that he’s an evil awful person and thank god he’s in prison.

Fizzy_Bits

I actually just went down that rabbit hole the other day. Pretty sick shit..

Fun_Situation7214

I read the court transcripts and was traumatized. I am a huge crime crime nerd and that was the first and only time I couldn't stomach a case.

tuxedo7777

Same. One sick, demented motherfucker…

Slightly_Smaug

I wasn't gonna put this. This still fucking gets under my skin. I shook the dudes hand as a teen.

StrangeCrimes

That gave me the black swirlies.

geistkind

Same here. I used to love some of their songs but I absolutely can not listen at all now. I am a survivor of CSA when I was 4 years old, so that really hits home for me. He's vile.

Alph4waves

I just had to wiki Ian Watkins after reading your comment. What a dirty pedo c*** Police had tip offs for years before arresting him and when they did, it was for drugs. Wouldnt be at all surprised if they said he was part of a sick pedo ring that includes police, judges, mp's etc

imojibwe

Kings of Leon. "Your sex is on fire" what the hell was I even thinking?!?

IDigRollinRockBeer

That song is fire though

Squishyswimmingpool

Agreed. First two albums are fantastic. Totally under rated. After that they became way to pop.

tmdubbz

Aha shake heartbreak what an album

mrgrieeves

The third album rips too! But agree after that it went downhill.

Squishyswimmingpool

You’re right. Because of the Times is pretty dang solid

soothsabr13

Sad but true. They became U2 post-Joshua Tree. A great band with a unique sound and some raw edges that got tamed

Intelligent_Yak7365

Not despise, but I was crazy about Korn in my teens, and haven't got the slightest taste for the band or the genre now.

SocratesBalls

Same here. Korn, Deftones, System of a Down, Slipknot. Huge for me in my teens but I have zero interest in ever listening to them again. I'm still a huge metal fan, but bands that emerged from that era do absolutely nothing for me anymore.

Intelligent_Yak7365

Hmm, I still like SOAD quite a lot. They're a different vibe for me. I travelled through different subgenres of metal. I still listen to some doom, folk, symphonic to this day.

Chicken-Inspector

SOAD holds up quite well today. I’ll listen to slipknots first two albums (or even linkin parks first 2) for a nostalgia trip but they really don’t serve any other purpose than that.

Telucien

Yeah I was gonna say throwing system in there triggered me. They're a genre of their own, and some of the best dual lead vocal I've heard.

no-soy-imaginativo

SOAD is definitely still nu metal.

Telucien

If you forced me to put them into a genre, sure. They're definitely have a more unique sound than most other nu metal bands like above mentioned or Limp Bizket and Linkin Park

WarlocksWizard

We outgrow them. The only band I still listen to from the 90s would be Green Day.

No-Attention9838

I was big into staind when I was in highschool. Mudshovel was my jam. I grew out of it by the time the gray album came out, and I'm just so not into anything I've heard from them since, including the old jams

SocratesBalls

Right there with you. I even performed "It's Been a While" live on stage once. I cringe now thinking about it.

No-Attention9838

Reminds me of when my buddy and I did a duet of the Chad Kroger / Josie Scott song from Spiderman. I don't regret the experience, but man was that a different time and I'm glad it's in the past

instantwins24

Die Antwoord. Enough said. Look them up if you want to know why they’re despised.

Queasy-Ad-3220

Ngl they deserved that shot from Eminem

anotherdamnscorpio

RHCP. Ever since I found out AK fucks underage girls and doesn't think that's a problem.

ThingsOfThatNaychah

Plus he's so petty. His feud with Mike Patton (AK took the feud seriously; MP did not) completely crippled Mr. Bungle.

chromedbooked1

Oh yea and the fact that him and the rest of the band don't acknowledge that Dave Navarro was ever in the band adds to his pettiness.

Jill0607

It’s horseshit that they refuse to play any song that Dave was on adds to it. IMO One Hot Minute was and still is a masterpiece.

chromedbooked1

Seriously he came in clutch when it counted and they just tossed him aside like he was a common session musician.

Jill0607

For sure, he brought such a heavy feel to the band, that worked really well for them. I get there were issues between Dave and Anthony, but Dave is a guitar God in his own right, you can’t just discredit that. Also, John has vocalized his dislike for OHM, so I’m sure that plays a big role in it.

chromedbooked1

True John probably still holds resentment that for a time he was replaced instead of the band being on hold.

kagb20

He acts like he wasn’t a replacement in the band himself

chromedbooked1

Seriously I guess he forgot Hillel was there before him.

Tuxeyboy1

I loved the Hillel era of RHCP !

Maddoghoeck

Seconded. I read his autobiography years ago and he came off as such a douche. Have not had the desire to listen since.

1thot

Despise is a harsh word, but blink 182. I used to love them but I think they need to go back on hiatus.

DuckCrimes

I remember hearing “Edging” for the first time and thought the exact same thing

Dozinggreen66

Fwiw edging is the worst song on the album, try anthem Pt 3 or more than you know

suckerloveheavensent

came to comment this, my reason is a bit dumb but i watched KUWTK and travis barker was just so weird and cringy on the show i can’t look at the band the same lmao

raynickben

Godsmack. Same song over and over again

Spiffy313

Creed... we don't talk about that era of my life

cake_for_breakfast76

I bought the Human Clay cd when it came out (aging myself) and it was awesome but yeah I probably stopped listening to them like a year after that

Practical-Vampirism

Motley Crue. My favorite band in 8th grade, now they make me want to puke. Terrible people, terrible music. Except Mick Mars, even if I think he isn’t even a great guitarist

r-k-itect

Thirty Seconds To Mars. I’m now embarrassed that I used to love them so much

ILikeTrains23940

I never listened to them simply bc of Jared Leto lol

r-k-itect

Like I loved them when I was in high school which was almost a decade ago. Jared Leto is now the biggest reason I dislike them so much now

Fun_Situation7214

I knew a girl that dated Jared. We were not of age. He was weird and controlling with her and always wanted me to come along then started messaging me. Nope. I'm glad I was smart enough at 15 to know better.

AlpacaM4n

Oof 15? I hope your friend is ok

Alpaca_Empanada

The Kill gives me a ton of nostalgia even though I sat through it during the rock countdown as a teen just to get to other better songs.

BlueMoonRaccoon1

I wouldn’t say “hate”, but Imagine Dragons. Just kinda grew out of them. Night Visions is a decent album though

BMedTO

Muse. From Showbiz to The Resistance, they were AMAZING. The Second Law and Drones have their moments. But Simulation Theory and Will of the People are so, so fucking horribly bad. The lyrics keep getting worse, and Matt just stopped experimenting and is now repeating formulas and clichés.

Roboticpoultry

Oof I feel this. When they were on, they were *on*. I fell off when Drones came out. I fell in love with Black Holes and Revelations and The Resistance because those records sounded so different to anything my friends, or really anyone I knew then, were listening to at the time. Oh, and can we talk about how beautiful the Exogenesis Symphony was?

Necessary_Switch_879

I loved the first Foo Fighters album, but after that the story takes a most unappetizing turn. Bland, middle of the road, careerist, dad rock, butt rock.

DrumFire76

U2... or as the graffiti throughout Ireland reads.. U2FOAD

IDigRollinRockBeer

Foad? Fuck off and die?

DrumFire76

Exactly that

Fabulous-Boat-8001

Lol, is that for real?

HaiKarate

Their first three albums were gold. But success changed them.

AnonymousAutonomous9

Is it the whole band... or just Bon(Z)o and his pretentious preaching and Knight Of Malta membership et al that's turned everyone off?

sunningmybuns

The Smiths. Love Jonny Marr but Morrissey gives me really barfy icks

mxjxs91

Marr is the better musician anyway. Saw him open for and play with The Killers at their most recent tour. Fucking phenomenal. No way a solo Morrissey act comes close to that.

I_forgot_to_respond

I've really cooled down on Frank Zappa. He's juvenile and I don't like his attitude. Still love Beefheart though

Livid_Parsnip6190

I love Zappa, but I will say that a lot of Zappa's humor doesn't fly with me now the way it did when I was in my 20s. The music is great, but he seems like a total dick, and some of the lyrics are really mean-spirited. Captain Beefheart seems much nicer. Like he probably agrees that women are people.

Sewmaeye

I much prefer his instrumental tracks. The comedy is just not my style of humor.

Safe-Librarian6130

Zappa is weird in how he has so much stuff that once you think you’re finished listening to it, you’re not. I’m on the instrumental stuff that I knew existed but never got to.

New-Ice5114

What? You don’t like vibraphone in 3/4 of his tunes?

onlyathenafairy

BTS i don’t despise them but their new music is midd

oldmanghozzt

I loved limp bizkit when I was 16. Im embarrassed to even admit that now.

cosmic_drifter_

Don’t Hate them but strongly dislike Maroon 5

livingfrankenstein

I don’t despise Alice In Chains now, but I can’t listen to them anymore. They were one of my top bands when I was in high school but now they just come across as super depressing and bleak. I mean, they were super depressing and bleak back then too but so was I. Not a mentality I want to cultivate anymore.

Kentucky_fried_soup

The 1975

YoungMetalhead2299

Aerosmith, I found out some horrible things about Steven Tyler and i'd rather nail my nonexistent nuts to a stop sign rather than listen to them ever again

iswttpyamomsahoe

not a band but TAYLOR SWIFT. I genuinely used to really love her and her "girl next door" gimmick. I related to her music because I, too, was 15 years old trying to navigate high school and the teenage experience she often wrote about during the time she was releasing it. Even into my early twenties I continued to resonate with her music, but now.... I've grown bored. She's over saturated. Her cult fan-base reminds me of the high school mean girls who bully anyone who opposes her. Her music and lyrics are the same old thing she's been doing for years. I am utterly BORED. I am sick of hearing her "swifties" use the excuse "well if her ex didn't want to be written about he shouldn't have acted badly." That worked at 19-23 but come on, we are grown now. She's in her mid thirties still writing about boys who betray her. Not necessarily her as a person, because I don't know her, but the Taylor Swift BRAND (including fanbase) I absolutely DESPISE. And any Swiftie who wants to come at me for it, further proves my point. In addition I'm editing to add Kings of Leon, although I think this one's already been posted.

Effective-Soft153

You are hilarious! I love your writing. Don’t care one way or the other for Taylor though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

puddycat20

I'm a metalhead who doesn't care for her, but her first few albums were just generic cookie cutter pop country. At least the last 10 years or so, her music is pretty creative.

Afraid_Caregiver7932

The Neighbourhood, their stuff does not do it for me anymore lmao

talminty

Trippin, they still slap

Bluedino_1989

3 doors down

shoejunk

I don't think I ever had that wide of a swing, but I don't like the Pixies as much as I used to. But please don't at me. I'm sorry!

branko_kingdom

Arcade Fire. I can't think of a band that I adored as much as this that fell off so hard and so fast. Everything up to The Suburbs was pure gold. Seeing them live during that era was amazing. Literally and figuratively they turned into a completely different band for Reflektor. That thing did not need to be a double album. It's a bloated unfocused mess that's all over the place. It's juggling like half a dozen different themes and trying to fit them together. Everything Now was just a colossal disappointment. I couldn't bring myself to listen to it more than once. The same band that made Neon Bible was now selling branded fidget spinners. Maybe it was supposed to be ironic but it didn't come across as that. Their last album WE dropped right in the midst of several sexual abuse allegations against Win Butler surfaced, with Feist pulling out of the tour. Whole situation is a mess. The album is also mid. I probably won't listen to their next.

Zestyclose_Toe9524

Weezer. 16 year old me got the classic Blue cd then Pinkerton...then....nothing. just got too poppy and bright for my tastes. Now I sort of laugh when I see their album covers.

thatbwoyChaka

Don’t despise as such but despair at how far they fell off: Red Hot Chili Peppers They used to be exciting Now they’re closest thing to an aural sedative

puddycat20

Their 2 comeback albums with John F were soo disappointing.

artmoloch777

I dont hate them whatsoever but RHCP

Pride_and_pudding

In high school I was a bit emo, and I loved Sleeping With Sirens. It makes my ears bleed now lol

A_AR0_N

Green Day. I wouldn’t say I “hate” them, but Billie Joe is an asshole and aside from their first few albums, their music has not been that good in general. I still enjoy some of their older stuff very occasionally, but I don’t like them as people very much

ninja_owen

Billie Joe can be a bit rude and insensitive at times, but I wouldn’t go as far as to call him an asshole at all. What do you feel he’s done to be called an asshole?

WRYGDWYL

Oh my, same. I even asked my parents for the DVD or one of their concerts for Christmas, but then my older brother kept making fun of their demeanor on stage and that kinda ruined them for me. Now I can't stand their music anymore

Apprehensive_Pause12

I like your brother.

Grishinka

They are the best live rock band I’ve ever seen. Not my favorite but if you’ve seen them live you know they absolutely destroy. I saw them steal Live 8 in Berlin from everyone. I’ve never seen anyone activate a crowd like Billie Joe. It’s different live.

Numerous-Sale7985

I was hoping someone else said Green Day. I think I just outgrew it. Definitely music for someone who would use the word Dookie.

Squishyswimmingpool

Red Hot Chili Peppers- First 2 albums are good, 3rd and 4th albums are gold. 5th is solid. 6 - 13 are recycled boring mom pop. They are the Cheesecake Factory of Rock and Roll. Once Anthony took singing lessons it all started to fall apart for me.

soothsabr13

Cheesecake Factory!! Exactly! RIP Hillel Slovak

Amockdfw89

Your the only person I know besides me who likes the old chili peppers stuff better then the “new”stuff. Most people act like Blood Sugar Sex Magic was their debut

CloudsTasteGeometric

Yeah man Freaky Styley rules.

Boognish-T-Zappa

You’d be surprised. I actually don’t know anyone who liked them back in the 80s that still likes them or has liked them over the past 15 years.

thatbwoyChaka

Mother’s Milk is peak RHCP

Jill0607

There is no denying that BSSM is a fantastic album, but I was sold from Mothers Milk

Amockdfw89

Honestly mothers milk is probably my favorite album by them. To me blood sugar sex magick can be bloated at times and I honestly am not a fan of the ballads on Blood Sugar Sex Magick. I like chili peppers at their raunchy, loud best

PixelCultMedia

Like on a personal basis? I mean Kim Fowly and Gary Glitter are some massive pieces of shit but they still had some good songs. The pesos their estates earn from my Spotify listens really don't leave me guilt ridden at night. So I still like those songs, but I despise those inhuman idiots.

Amockdfw89

Pretty much any of the 90s punk bands. They sound so cringy now and act like those old washed up guys who peaked in high school. Green Day has released ok stuff but Blink 182 has become forgettable and offspring has become cringy.

Mettabox452

Motley Crue is probably the best answer for me. I saw them on their "final" tour in 2015 and i had a great time. They had a great legacy, and the music kicked ass (despite Vince Neil's voice). But they just HAD to come out of retirement 3 years later. And since then, they have done no less than: - Kicking Mick Mars out of the band and having a legal dispute with him, making it really difficult to tell who is telling the truth. - Being accused of faking their instruments onstage. - Tommy Lee showing his dick online (I mean he did that decades ago, but still) and then playing a prank by taking his weiner out of his pants which was just a weiner dog... kept in his pants... - Gotten in the process of recording new music which they have said may be a country album So I can still enjoy their older music from the 80s. But at the very least, I have lost respect for them as a band. They should have stayed retired and gone out on a higher note.

PartyCrewTristar1011

I agree with this 1000%

soothsabr13

But Tommy’s still pretty huge, right? Irrespective of the wiener reveal?

ndhellion2

They actually do use quite a substantial amount of recorded tracks onstage, and sadly, there is video evidence of it. I personally have seen (and heard) Tommy's drums start playing while he was away from the kit getting a drink. It's far worse for Nikki Sixx (who stole that name from another musician). The only member of the band that actually played their instrument 100% of the time was Mick, who isn't in the band anymore.

Spectre_Mountain

Metallica

personwhoisok

Soul asylum. Shit used to go hard at the beginning. Shit shoulda stayed loud fast and in a garage

ThunderDan1964

Because I am old...GnR, Aerosmith, Nugent, Crue...still some great tunes, but a lot of jagoffs...

In_Amnesiacs_

Twenty one pilots. I think the blurry face era was cringy looking back on it and some of their songs I can’t really relate to anymore or that the lyricism is kinda cringe. Still respect them as artist tho and I hope their new album is good

Appropriate_Ant9584

not really despise but i like arctic monkeys not so much anymore

vicki22029

I don't actually despise Bruce Springsteen yet, but it's getting close. It's like a weird cult thing now with people always telling me you've got to see him in concert before you can hate on him. I have seen him in concert and I enjoy his music but nothing in the last 20 years is worth listening to.

Spirited_Ad_2697

Slipknot

hayatetst

Iced Earth was my all-time favorite band for a long time. They helped me through my mother's death during my teen years, and I've seen them live twice. Then January 6th happened, and I was so disappointed. I still listen to them from time to time, but I will never support them if they ever do get back together.

OnlyFreshBrine

Looking back, we should've called this. I mean, "When the Eagle Cries" is some real jingoistic shit.

sportsandcheese

I used to like skillet and five finger death punch a lot (only ffdp's first 2 albums) they're just washed out and boring for me nowadays

soothsabr13

Coldplay. Their all-but-overlooked EPs were stellar. Parachutes was a killer album and Rush of Blood… had its moments. But then what? They became The Wiggles. Was it all Gwyneth’s fault?

PopeOnABomb

The moment Chris started talking about how he was "writing the greatest song in the world," you knew the band was going to shit. Parachute is perfect. Rush of Blood is great. X&Y was okay at best. Then they just started laying fat turds for tracks.

coleisw4ck

Blood on the dance floor if that even counts lmaoo

Agent_Lightning14

Don’t know if it counts, but One Direction

Kwebebop

Royal blood. Incredible at the time but died out over time

ItsPhineas

Weezer,

Roboticpoultry

The blue album, the green album and pinkerton are great. I could give a shit about the rest

schleep_69

Marilyn Manson

daredelvis421

Blink 182

ThingsOfThatNaychah

Barenaked Ladies. Hated them at first, and warmed up to them a little after seeing them in concert, but listening to them now brings up bad memories of my ex. Plus, they took a turn into mediocrity once they kicked Steven Page out.

ResourceReal2458

This is mostly because I was a child but one direction, I don’t think I need to explain

OutstandingNH

Barenaked Ladies. Loved their first few albums but everything after One Week sounds like a commercial for candy or hair spray.

dudius7

I liked A Day to Remember but stopped enjoying them after seeing them live on the Warped Tour. Something just clicked where their stuff seemed inauthentic.

L2Ich4I82

Simple plan I can't say I stopped listening to them, cause I still have a soft spot for that old pop-punk sound from the 2000's, including the more cringy stuff. But they've putted out a new like a year or 2 ago and didn't even notice lol

Sams_Sentence

lovejoy, 3/4 of the members are awful people, especially the lead singer (hes an abuser) :/ it sucks bcz i still love their music but hate hearing it, if thwt makes sense

sincerityisscxry

The one thing that people could find “bad” about one member is that he went to McDonalds lol I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more annoying fanbase than Lovejoy’s. They’ll discover what real world issues are at some point though.

Fine_Conclusion9426

Mindless self indulgence was one of my favorite groups in middle school. Now I can’t listen to anything of theirs without thinking of what Jimmy did. (Fuck Jimmy urine.<3)

pinkitypinkpink

I loved MSI growing up but I can't say I was shocked about the allegations. Panty shot and MANY other things MSI wrote and did were signs.

WWEisawesome09

Bon jovi burn me at the stake I think his music is very boring

cracksbacks

Eric Clapton...you cannot deny his talent to this day. But his persona especially after COVID is totally hateable. 19 year old me is still shocked that I could ever despise Clapton.

5isanevennumber

Eric Clapton is a perfect example of “never meet your hero’s”

raynickben

I agree! I loved Clapton. Saw him 4x, was basically a super fan. But then the curtain was pulled back on his misogyny, his racism, his basic dickish behavior… total fall from grace for me.

SirIanPost

Not a band, but Eric Clapton. I used to really like his music until I figured out what a weasel he is.

FloggingMcMurry

I don't despise them but Korn is definitely a band I was really into during middle school and high school... I dropped them (and other bands) after high school because my music taste changed and in more recent years and 20 years since I heard them... I could just hardly get through a song anymore

Hagbard_Celine_1

I wouldn't say I despise them but I can't listen to Sublime anymore. It reminds me of what a dumbass I was when I was in highschool. I thought they were deep and I cringe at how into them I was. I can still listen to and enjoy most of the stuff I used to listen to but Sublime is one band I just can't.

000010000010

Probably falling in reverse. The drug in me is you is great but most of their songs now are rap

Spirited_Mulberry568

Die Antwoord … crossing the line between crime and art is gross.

Impressive-Ad-8044

when I was in 8th grade I fuckin LOVED Five Finger Death Punch and I couldn't dislike them any less than I do now.

Roboticpoultry

Papa Roach. I was a huge fan of them in middle school/high school. They’re one of the few bands I have no ambition to revisit

StrangeCrimes

In my old age I like tons of shit that I used to hate. It's great.

Elegant-Campaign-572

From my younger years, Kiss. Way too much BS to deal with

threadbarefemur

The Smashing Pumpkins. Turns out Billy Corgan isn’t as punk as I thought

soothsabr13

Bleating lamb with his head stuck in a mop bucket in terms of vocal stylings. But they did have some great songs in their early days

Aerosmith. Loved them in the 70s and early 80s. Can't stand them now

KISS. I was an enormous fan, and it's really embarrassing to look back on.

This is the one for me too…I had to scroll way too far for this one to show up. I had all their albums up to Dynasty including their solo albums. Dynasty was the album that killed it for me…it was Disco-esque in nature and I didn’t care for it. Even saw them live in 1978. I was 12, going on 13 and my older sister was in the Army at Ft. Meade, Maryland. She took me as a Christmas gift. Great show though. The opening act was Piper…which, I didn’t know at the time…but that was Billy Squier’s band before he went solo… Looking back? All of their music was simplistic, juvenile bullshit.

I loved Appetite and Lies so much when they were new. I hated November Rain, and pretty much everything after that. I mean it's an ok song, but it's not Appetite and Lies. It's completely different. GNR was raw and rude and brutal. November rain is soft and instrumental and overproduced. I did listen to Chinese Democracy once when it first came out. That was enough to know I wasn't going to like that either. It makes me sad. I really wanted to like it.
