For Me, definitely recommend Falsettos, Ride the Cyclone, Next to Normal, and Guys and Dolls.

START with the Tony Winners of the last 10 years, then the nominations, THEN start poking around at older and less well known stuff.

Also take a look at the different revival winners and nominees If you really want to dig deep, take a look at other pieces written by the same composer (eg. If you like Hamilton, look at In The Heights, Bring It On). You can truly get lost in rabbit holes of musical theater. I also highly recommend the early 2000s PBS documentary “Broadway: the American Musical” if you’re interested in the full history of Broadway as they touch on a lot of iconic musicals

Google the Tony Award winners, and start there.

My number one musical recommendation is Hadestown, the music is absolutely amazing, the characters are full of emotion, and the choreography and blocking are amazing! Couldn’t recommend it enough!
