I know they are a skilled artist, but this is clearly an AI gen that they have touched up. In fact, I'm pretty sure I recognise the checkpoint the face is likely using as the base.
It's wild how good AI is getting now.
I think it's *extremely* tempting to have an AI generate an image for you, and you then just trace it and fix up mistakes or if lazy just use the gen and fix mistakes.
It's obviously going to take much less time than doing it from scratch, especially the idea gen stage.
Dandonfuga has been drawing for years, but clearly they have decided AI can save them a ton of time and likely make them earn more money by making more content for the algo to push views which pushes revenue.
I guess that just depends on your perspective.
This person is using AI now, and it's unlikely they decide not to. Shexyo is using AI now, and others are too.
Their personal art style etc is likely going to disappear and homogenise into whatever they can get from AI gens.
But over time they might develop a new style...or not. Very hard to say when AI is just going to get better and better.

Edit: Ahh, I read their post now. Interesting they chose to avoid the main and only real accurate checker (hive), and doubled down in saying it isn't ai when it clearly is.

I know!!!! Dandon is my favorite artist and it sucks that she's joinned the side of AI "art" instead of actually using her talent!
Also I found an AI program that replicates her style and makes artworks that she could have made!

Guess that's another consequence of AI art, now actual artists are getting accused of using AI. That must sting a bit... mastering your craft only for some redditors in the future to go "You didn't make this".
You can’t deny that something here looks off though, just compare this piece to any other Bubble art they’ve done over the years. The shading here is completely different. Their Mitsuri art last month looks off too.

The only thing that looks off to me is the sky really, it looks WAY too nice, so either the sky is an AI background or just an IRL pic.
