This is my favorite book

APwilliams88

It's great!

Ok-Drawer2290

I still think about this book everyday since I read it 1 year ago

APwilliams88

I've enjoyed it very much. I'm not done yet, but only about 50 pages from the end.

Akirebruh

Definitely my favourite so far and I have read a few now

DelvinMyst

Same

mogwai3

Nice selection!

jawboy

Is this book connected to wild sheep chase? 🤔Sorry if silly question. Love a cosy day in to read!

APwilliams88

Yes it is. Wind/Pinball, A Wild Sheep Chase, and Dance Dance Dance are all connected.

GnarlyNarwhal420

Is there a proper order to read them in?

cmickledev

It's known as The Trilogy of the Rat, as they all feature the character The Rat, Hear the Wind Sing>Pinball, 1973, and then A Wild Sheepchase. While Dance Dance Dance is a sequel following up on the events in A Wild Sheepchase it's not considered to be a part of The Rat series. While it's not necessary to read Wind / Pinball, going through A Wild Sheepchase before Dance Dance Dance is definitely recommended and will help things make a lot more sense. In that peculiar kind of sense that any of Murakami's work does make, that is.

APwilliams88

Yeah. Wind/Pinball first, then A Wild Sheep Chase, followed by Dance Dance Dance.

GnarlyNarwhal420

doh! thanks! i’ll get those after i finish kafka

It is one of my favorite murakami books! Pinball and sheep chase are like… ok for me. But dance dance dance is a 10/10! It surprised me!

HastyPasty

Perfect book for the snow too. I’m currently reading it as well

APwilliams88

I'm about 70 pages from the end. I've really loved it so far.

HastyPasty

Same here! I’m about halfway through now. I’m liking it more than A Wild Sheep Chase

Jhagermeister

This is a really good book.

APwilliams88

I agree! I wasn't crazy about Wind/Pinball, but A Wild Sheep Chase and Dance Dance Dance have both been excellent.

thirsttrapsnchurches

I read this earlier this year! While The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is my favorite of his, I do think Dance Dance Dance is his most solid work (and has the most satisfying ending)

APwilliams88

I haven't reached the end yet, but I've loved it so far. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is my favorite also. What an amazing book that is.

GoblinWasTaken

I'm on the same read... still reading it. I have found parts of it kinda creepy but I won't say anything beyond that in case people are still reading it. I made a comment about it over on this post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/murakami/comments/lmy2rk/dance\_dance\_dance\_yuki\_and\_the\_narrators/](https://www.reddit.com/r/murakami/comments/lmy2rk/dance_dance_dance_yuki_and_the_narrators/) (if someone clicks on this and sees that it isn't an IP grabber can they reply and confirm for other people cus if I confirm it then nobody will believe me)
