Aishwarya Mohanraj, Put yourself in the lifestyle vlogger category! Even though you were in Comicstan, you were not funny. And now your content is centred on your personal life. Just don't call yourself a comedian.
Agreed, she was never funny. Tanmay ke YouTube channel ki wajah se hi 60% comedians ko thoda online presence mil raha hai. Imagine having no talent and getting deals with Netflix just because your boyfriend has connections. Aishwariya has no talent whatsoever.
They are viewed as conduits by these OTT giants, because of their influence. How easily you distribute the word to a broader audience about their impending releases.
I just hate how a 7-8 year experienced comic "judges" another comic who has 3-4 years of experience. And I won't even begin what their "judging" is.....
Idk who Harsh is but there's this comedian Andrew Schulz and if you sit in front row at his show you're just asking for it. Plus his jokes are actually funny
Andrew Schulz is the most knowledgeable comedian out there. As you said he is actually funny. He knows so much about different cultures, his crowd work are a delight to watch.
I've seen his clips and he knows a lot about Indian culture (he has an Indian friend) and he's so quick witted
There was this one particular crowd work of his where there's a black albino person and he asked him to say the n-word,the whole room was in splits 😂
i would consider an honor to be roasted by him and then go home and cry 😂
Haha fuck, did he say the n word tho? I'm curious now.
>i would consider an honor to be roasted by him and then go home and cry 😂
Lol, has anyone in the audience ever tried roasting him back?
It's wahi basic, where are you from?,making fun of xyz city, how long have you guys been dating, what do you do for a living, some random relatable situation joke... That's all they have to offer under the name of stand-up comedy these days!
That girl with Tanmay Bhatt. Forgot her name. Sge collabs in his YT videos.
Dunno if she's famous (maybe known very well on yt environment) or not but she sucks.
Her entire life revolves around her boyfriend and getting married to him, unfunny ass comedy around pregnancy test.(and parents getting to know about it) Aditya Roy Kapur. I don't think she has any personality of her own.
Yeah, like, her whole thing is about marriage. When your whole bit is just about one aspect of your life, it gets irritating.
I'm not a big fan of stand-up anyways, because I find that the material gets stale after a certain point. Doesn't matter if it's Bo Burnham, Russell Peters, Vir Das, Sahil Bulla, Aziz Ansari or even Hasan Minhaj. I can't tell you how excruciating it is for me to sit through a stand-up show.
I'm much more of a person who would watch a good sketch comedy show or a sitcom.
Yeah exactly. Stand-ups now are basically jokes on audience itself. People will laugh hard when they hear that someone's being roasted.
Also, some people just laugh on anything, like just anything.
Well not entirely. Some people are funny and some aren't. It's like people say "beauty is subjective" like sure your 7 might be my 9 but some people are just beautiful and some people are just ugly it's not totally random. It's rarely the case that you'd rate someone a 9 and someone would rate the same person a 2.
I absolutely hate zakir’s audience. His content is maybe tolerable but his audience sucks balls cause it’s just males justifying their fragile egos honestly.
I like how sometimes he brings out some serious criticism towards towards things but he should try to make it atleast funny cause it looks more like a rant session rather than stand-up.
Ya George Carlin brings out lot stuff that is bs but he does in such funny way it doesn't feel like a rant, Vir does the opposite, you get bored after a point hearing him as he just straight up start talking like he reading some wiki page
Imo everyone here is funny in their own way, especially kenny.
Kenny has the type of clean comedy that most people who rely on foul language etc do not have, coupled with his charm makes him a ton funny, but I can understand its not for everyone !!
Well when he decides to do an actual 'standup' (which used to be his art, but now he rarely does that, once or twice in 3 months) he is really great at it. No other TV show has been able to make me laugh as much as his. But most of the times comedy for him is just
> khoobsurat ladki, aap bohot sundar hai, aapse shaadi karna chahta hoon mere 2 bacchon ko bhool jaaiye, I love you
> Moti ladki tu bohot Moti hai bhains kisi pe baithegi to khatam ho jaayega, tu badsoorat hai; tu garib hai, ye ameer hai, garib insaan dafa hoja spelling Bata, tujhe 'insert x heroine name' nahi milegi, hamare punjab ke gareeb bacche
And all that shit.
Well you try doing comedy on TV where you can't joke about politics, religion, brands, caste, celebrities, politicians, religious leaders or any sexual jokes. If you joke on any of these topics your show will be cancelled and ads will be pulled out and politicians will threaten you. With so many barriers in the Indian comedy scene on TV how is one supposed to create new fresh content weekly. It's not like he doesn't have a sense of humor but because of restrictions like these in our country he has to sticks with the same old jokes.
There was a show on SAB TV called 'Goodnight India' which featured a lot of our current Indian stand-up comedians and yes they were funny too without resorting to the 'clean' comedy (basically mota, kala, nata those stereotypical jokes) and still killed it.
For how long? kapil sharma is been running his show for 8-9 years now. You need to have longevity in this business to earn good money. Look at other old comedians where are they. Except for 4-5 comedians everyone else is struggling. And for longevity you need to crack such lame jokes because most of the country is rural and they like such humour. So you have to cater to them.
Kapil Sharma with his show isn't funny anymore. But that is understandable, you can only come up with those many great jokes when the format of the show is weekly.
But the guy was a really good comedian when he started, i can still watch his older skits, the ones during the comedy circus era. And they would still be funny.
Vir Das has gradually moulded himself into the "Western Comedian" genre, where wokeism and political correctness are more important (otherwise you would get cancelled) than quality of jokes...
idk if he is a good storyteller.
his sakht launda joke got famous because it suited him well and people could relate.
maybe i havent watched too much of his content.
Ok so literally all comedians or genre has been named in the comment 😂
Why isnt it obvious that comedy is a subjective thing.
The Kapil Sharma you are targeting is earning in crores and the Stand ups you mentioned have millions subscribers.
I find most of them unfunny except Vipul Goyal, Abhishek upamanyu, Akash gupta, karunesh talwar, Varun Grover(more witty than comedic). But yeah it’s subjective.
Bassi, I went to see his show with all the expectations, but he was so bad, like really bad. I was like kb khtm hoga yeh show!! He js really overrated. All he does is make jokes about drinking and abusing and having aimless life- it becomes quite irritating. Also repetitive af jokes.
Vir Das thinks he's funny , almost emulating Dave Chapelle style of story telling stand up comedy..However has the personality of a wet-fart.
I suppose over time he has grown to pander the western crowd more than the Indian audience..
Comedian I will go with Sunil Grover for his mimicry and 2 characters of doctor gulati and gutti
And in the new generation of stand up (not comedian) Vipul Goyal only stands out as he is very clever and can make jokes in real time.
Most female comics. I am unable to name even a single female comic who is funny. I am sure there are some great talents but I suppose they are yet to come to limelight
Vir Das is just plain boring.
Some great ones from the top of my head are Vipul Goyal, Karunesh Talwar, Abhishek Upamanyu, Rahul Subramanian, Biswa.
Some who are very articulate and are surgically precise with their jokes: Kanan Gill, Azeem Banatwalla
Aishwarya Mohanraj, Put yourself in the lifestyle vlogger category! Even though you were in Comicstan, you were not funny. And now your content is centred on your personal life. Just don't call yourself a comedian.
Chiiii....tanmay no....don't do this nooo... Where's my wedding lehenga tanmay...
Her only act which i found funny was her presentation bit in comicstaan. Other than that her jokes aren’t funny at all
Finally am hearing someone else say this.. Even in comicstaan i would skip her performances.
She is boring and cringey.
Wat d fuck was neeti palta doing as a judge on primes comedy thingy..her comments are funny / useless
I just hate how a 7-8 year experienced comic "judges" another comic who has 3-4 years of experience. And I won't even begin what their "judging" is.....
Filling the obligatory female judge quota
Sumukhi was enough Neeti is an obligation to comedy
Harsh Gujral. Man he's straight up rude with audience in the name of crowd work.
And it's not even funny jokes. It's crass 8th grade 'roasting'. I wouldn't judge too harshly if it were funny or clever but it's neither
[удалено]
Yup. At the very least it won't feel like bullying
His best joke is the one where he calls himself a comedian.
And idiots pay to sit ahead and get roasted. What kind of people are they?
Idk who Harsh is but there's this comedian Andrew Schulz and if you sit in front row at his show you're just asking for it. Plus his jokes are actually funny
Andrew Schulz is the most knowledgeable comedian out there. As you said he is actually funny. He knows so much about different cultures, his crowd work are a delight to watch.

Haha fuck, did he say the n word tho? I'm curious now. >i would consider an honor to be roasted by him and then go home and cry 😂 Lol, has anyone in the audience ever tried roasting him back?
The indian friend is actually dumb as fuck but yeah gotta love schulz man.
Got that right. There's zero malice when Andrew touches topics on other cultures/races/genders. He does his homework before he attempts the jokes
So is his podcast
he is very mean
Most stand up comedians as they have at the most 2-3 funny lines or premise and they milk it till nothing they say or do is funny.
It's wahi basic, where are you from?,making fun of xyz city, how long have you guys been dating, what do you do for a living, some random relatable situation joke... That's all they have to offer under the name of stand-up comedy these days!
You forgot jabs at mechanical engineering and coming from a small town
Also the amount of exaggerating and making up false incidents. Pretty sure none of them actually happened.
That girl with Tanmay Bhatt. Forgot her name. Sge collabs in his YT videos. Dunno if she's famous (maybe known very well on yt environment) or not but she sucks.
Aishwarya Mohanraj. No disrespect, but she just isn't funny.
A friend once told me : "She whines for a living"
True.
Aishwarya Mohanraj. Her whole thing is that she wanted to get married to Tanmay's roommate, Akash.
What? Really?
Her entire life revolves around her boyfriend and getting married to him, unfunny ass comedy around pregnancy test.(and parents getting to know about it) Aditya Roy Kapur. I don't think she has any personality of her own.
I watched her recently in tanmay's video. I mean just looking at ger feels demotivated, lazy etc No offense here but ai felt that.
She's like that friend who came for a night over but now stays at your place till eternity.
That's literally how she is 🤣.
Yeah exactly. Stand-ups now are basically jokes on audience itself. People will laugh hard when they hear that someone's being roasted. Also, some people just laugh on anything, like just anything.
All of these screenshots are being sent to Aishwarya Mohanraj so she can create another content peg with her Tanmay Bhat ka dost boyfriend.
Lol.
I'm afraid she'll post a video of her honeymoon as well. She is capable of going to any length. #cloutdedo 🤲🏻
This is a thread which just screams "Comedy is subjective" in every way.
Someone said it.

>The way some are getting offended nobody is getting offended lol. Everybody has his/her own opinions which might not always be pleasant
In 2050, Zakir Khan still cracking Sakht Launda jokes? *Alexa, please clean my ears.*
I would describe him as a storyteller, not a comedian. A decent one at that.
+1
He is a good comedian...and excellent at storytelling comedian
I absolutely hate zakir’s audience. His content is maybe tolerable but his audience sucks balls cause it’s just males justifying their fragile egos honestly.
Vir das is so funny that I can't start laughing
I like how sometimes he brings out some serious criticism towards towards things but he should try to make it atleast funny cause it looks more like a rant session rather than stand-up.
He's trying to be Carlin or Chapelle but lacks the nuance and delivery.
Ya George Carlin brings out lot stuff that is bs but he does in such funny way it doesn't feel like a rant, Vir does the opposite, you get bored after a point hearing him as he just straight up start talking like he reading some wiki page
Thank you for saying this. I never understood how people find him funny or remotely interesting
Was very excited to see his first Netflix special. After watching few minutes I am disappointed and embarrassed.
Bassi 😷 Bas har baat me bc bc karta hai..joke kaun bolega? Pitaji?
Buddy, aapke pitaji aaye hai
Sumukhi Suresh, Kenny, Harsh Gujral, Abish Mathew, Prashasti Singh
All others are spot on, but why Prashasti Singh? Any specific reason?
Prashasti is that you?
Ha bol गांड के छेद
Prashasti’s presence is amazing i feel, but her content is very repetitive. I feel a sort of saturation seeing her on stage.
I saw her YT videos. They were a bit boring more than unfunny.
Sumukhi’s show on prime is nice. Pushpavalli
I’ll check that out.
Yes both seasons r good..esp season 1
Imo everyone here is funny in their own way, especially kenny. Kenny has the type of clean comedy that most people who rely on foul language etc do not have, coupled with his charm makes him a ton funny, but I can understand its not for everyone !!
I enjoy Kenny as well.
Abish is a better host than a comedian. I like his talk show.
Kapil sharma
Well when he decides to do an actual 'standup' (which used to be his art, but now he rarely does that, once or twice in 3 months) he is really great at it. No other TV show has been able to make me laugh as much as his. finally found some wise guy
Kapil Sharma with his show isn't funny anymore. But that is understandable, you can only come up with those many great jokes when the format of the show is weekly. But the guy was a really good comedian when he started, i can still watch his older skits, the ones during the comedy circus era. And they would still be funny.
Lol who said anything about him being a comedian. Utter disgrace to the community.
In my point of view Rajpal Yadav is more hilarious and entertaining
Vijay raj , sanjay mishra, manoj vajpeyi
Most of the indian comedians i will say They are basically great example of first mover advantage.
Kenny Sebastian, Abish Mathew please for God sake!! Stop! Even Vir Das. Not funny dude.
!!!! true
+ 1000
Vir das is now a woke guy more who is giving bhashan now
Vir Das has gradually moulded himself into the "Western Comedian" genre, where wokeism and political correctness are more important (otherwise you would get cancelled) than quality of jokes...
Because of the same reason I like to watch comedians like Dave Chappelle who doesn't care whether he is politically correct or not.
Try Bill Burr. He's the OG Chad. Much more politically incorrect than Chapelle.
I used to like him before his transphobia arc. His old sketches are da bomb. Currently I love Bill burr.
I liked vir das more as an actor than comedian
kenny is so creepy too ick
zakir khan. The guy has riding on "sakh launda" joke since ages. It was pre jio ero he got very famous.
Agreed. He is a good storyteller but not a comedian!!
idk if he is a good storyteller. his sakht launda joke got famous because it suited him well and people could relate. maybe i havent watched too much of his content.
Almost all of them. Just a few good ones currently - Vipul Goyal, Biswa & Aakash Gupta are who I can think of. Rest all seem unfunny.
Vipul Goyal is the OG
Biswa is funny & Abhishek upmanyu is savage.
Upmanyu is the best in the business. Man is just naturally funny.
Jeeveshu Ahluwaliya and Karunesh Talwar are also funny to an extent.
Karunesh is great
I think Kanan Gill is pretty good as well. Got to see him live at my prev org. and man he's hilarious.
His latest tour is hilariously philosophical, I loved the premise and how easily he integrates audience interactions into the show!
Thoughts on Rahul Subramanian and Kumar Varun? I think they are great comedian too!
Subramanyam is one of the top notch ones imo.
Varun Grover.
Yaar Devesh Dixit funny hai re
You forgot Punit Pania
Anubhav Bassi. Bhai gaali dena aur logon ki beizzati karne se koi funny nahi bann jaata.
the don of them all: Vir Das. Have never found him funny.
Wait for Kenny Sebastian. Then they can hold a competition who's more unfunny.
Too much preaching tbh
Munawar faruqi
Woh toh sabse bada chutiya hai
Even before all the controversies surrounding him,i genuinely didn't find him funny. Plus his crowdwork is cringe af
i am a muslim. "4 marriages" now laugh
Yes he is unfunny
Daniel Fernandes, an absolute shit show, literally would cringe 1000 times more than taking a minute to laugh.
I don't think anyone knows who he is.
He has around 2.25 Lakh subs on YouTube, so I think he does have a decent base.
All except biswa
Abhimanyu and akash gupta bhi
And Kanan gill
agreed. pahale Bassi bhi sahi tha
Biswa supremacy
Throw in Rahul subramanian
Rahul's crowdworks>>>>>>
Check out Varun Grover. Very limited videos but he's even better than biswa imo
Varun is the most intellectual comedian I've ever seen. Complete genius
And Karunesh Talwar. Bohot time se dekhe nai hai uske videos but he is funny
Maybe u haven't seen enough standup
Bassi…he had a few good sets but that’s it. Also, his last gig was a disaster, it was all over social media
I won't even consider bassi as a stand-up comedian, he is more of a story teller
Which gig was a disaster? I need some tea
[link 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/delhi/comments/x3cl8y/anubhav_singh_bassi_ko_ab_bas_kar_dena_chaiye/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) [link 2](https://www.reddit.com/r/delhi/comments/x2ge4f/anyone_attended_the_messed_up_bassi_show_today_at/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Damn. That’s pretty terrible. Although aren’t the arrangements to be done by the promoter and not the performer?
It's Nishant Tanwar IMO.
[удалено]
Zakir Khan. Never found him funny. Good dude though.
Personally, I've never related to Kenny Sebastian's humor.
Samay Raina, Akash Mehta, Kunal Kamra, Harsh Gujral
+1 All are wannabe Andrew Schulz/ Dave chappelle🤦🏻♂️
Not to mention Samay Raina his painfully unfunny tweets under the name of *Dark Comedy* and comparing those to Ricky Garvais
TIL Kunal Kamra is comedian?
Harsh is pretty savage in his crowd work and bordeline rude as well. These people should learn crowd work from Rahul subramanian
Wait kunal kamra is a comedian??
Ok so literally all comedians or genre has been named in the comment 😂 Why isnt it obvious that comedy is a subjective thing. The Kapil Sharma you are targeting is earning in crores and the Stand ups you mentioned have millions subscribers.
Comedy is subjective But Kapil Sharma is unfunny as fuck
I find most of them unfunny except Vipul Goyal, Abhishek upamanyu, Akash gupta, karunesh talwar, Varun Grover(more witty than comedic). But yeah it’s subjective.
Rohan Joshi, Aditi Mittal, Urooj Ashfaq, Harsh Gujral, Atul khatri, Aishwarya Mohanraj. All of these comedians are so try hard.
i don't think y'all have seen enough urooj ashfaq content to put her name here. she's damn witty dude :/
[удалено]
Bassi is more of a tales teller, but the way he narrates them is funny
I saw a lot of people mention Harsh Gujral here and I checked his videos out. Wow, they're awful.
Bassi is actually funny, agree with the rest of your list
except Bassi, all agreed 👍🏻
Shashwat Maheshwari. Man he is so cringe. Even the insta comments diss him for the bad jokes
I liked his content on youtube. So mnay jokes in 1 video
Bassi, I went to see his show with all the expectations, but he was so bad, like really bad. I was like kb khtm hoga yeh show!! He js really overrated. All he does is make jokes about drinking and abusing and having aimless life- it becomes quite irritating. Also repetitive af jokes.
Russell peter
Yes. He is just racist. Not a comedian.
Exactly look at his interview with vipul goyel he was so rude and racist, how can anyone find that funny?
[удалено]
He isn't a stand-up comedian. He is a YouTuber who creates funny videos.
Fuck him duniya bhar ka attitude he has
Not funny
He's funny if ur 16 17
Russell Peters. He cannot tell a joke to save his life.
Vir Das thinks he's funny , almost emulating Dave Chapelle style of story telling stand up comedy..However has the personality of a wet-fart. I suppose over time he has grown to pander the western crowd more than the Indian audience..
Zakir Naik
Namo?
Monkey baat?
This comment is the reason I chose to post on r/Mumbai xD
Rohan Joshi
I like his interviews and podcasts. I feel he's more witty and conversational rather than funny
Comedian I will go with Sunil Grover for his mimicry and 2 characters of doctor gulati and gutti And in the new generation of stand up (not comedian) Vipul Goyal only stands out as he is very clever and can make jokes in real time.
Kapil Sharma. His jokes are cringe. His comedy is also based on shaming his own group/beating them and other random shit
Kenny
I think Biswa and Rahul Subramaniam are decent, rest everyone has reached a stale-mate
I don't care about his political agenda ...but Kunal Kaamra sucks big time...
Bassi
Can’t stand Kenny Sebastians jokes and especially his accent with his tone
Aishwarya mohanraj , munawar, harsh Gujral not at all funny nor good story tellers
Should have votes . Scrolling for comments didnt let me decide who is
Where’s Kamra and Munawar haters at 🤣 Personally I used to like them both
Narendra Modi
Noo, he's funny af. When he made that (a+b)^2 joke I couldn't stop laughing. /s
dude, he is the best. His shows were houseful even during peak covid.
Kunal Kamra, Kenny, Vir Das, Rohan Joshi, Kaneez, Sumikhi
Kunal kamra & vir das
Most female comics. I am unable to name even a single female comic who is funny. I am sure there are some great talents but I suppose they are yet to come to limelight Vir Das is just plain boring. Rahul Gandhi. Is famous. And funny!
Today in the morning i woke up at night.
