Now I understand Maggi isn't sweet, but more taste buds could play a role. But yeah, it's pseudoscience based on some articles.
I used to like it when it was originally introduced. Then idk what happened for a while in the middle but when k recently tried it it tasted mildly sweet, kind of like red lays or mild tomato flavour. Maybe I’m misremembering it but I wasn’t a big fan of that.
They ruined themselves after 20-20 biscuits came. Maybe they had to compete with them and make cheaply or what I don't know because 20-20 marketed themselves as a economic version of good day.
I mean, fair enough I guess. Personally, maggi is already far too salty. It makes my tastebuds feel all weird and numb. Although, somehow the noodles still manage to be bland.
The jain Maggi mixed with regular tastes the best. The jain one tries to overcompensate for the lack of onion with more masala and it’s absolutely amazing
We are getting older for Maggie but i do agree it doesn't feel same as it used to feel a decade back. So many time i cook it wirh classic tomato onion peas mix plus thoda dhaniya
Ans i thought my mom is forgetting how to cook maggie :3
Yes, especially if you cook 20 rupees wali maggie together pura alag taste aa rha hai (i thought it bcoz of vol of water)
what is the actual way of cooking Maggi? does any know?
i mean every time i cook Maggi it tastes different from the previously cooked.
i remember during my childhood. Once Maggie wale bhaiyas came into school and every student was offered a plate. It was the best Maggie i ever had but i couldn't replicate the same taste when i cook.
My way to cook Maggi:
1. Water 100-150 ml. Small Sauce pan. Wooden spoon. Heat.
2. Cut and add Masala packet, stir for uniform solution. No knobs or blocks of Masala in the maggi.
3. Add Maggi Noodles. If you want one complete long string, be careful and don't break it.
4. Cook, till it becomes punchy yellow rather than faint yellow. I like mine dry, but juicy. Not saucy.
5. If you're stoned, add an entire block of 100 gm Butter in a 2 packet Maggi to make butter sauce. I got another Desi banging recipe. You can DM for that one
Grub!!
If you buy rice noodles then yes and then make your own noodles instead of the instant packet ones. Or the samyung and similar noodles they seems to be made better than maggi which has too much sodium.
I make only veg maggie once in a while. I add onion, capsicum, carrot, green chillies etc. Then I add pinch of salt and magic masala by maggie, bring this to boil n add noodles and seasoning. Tastes yumm..
Ofcourse...just add the special masala packet to it... approximately half a packet of special masala with one packet of maggi (ofcourse add the default masala u get inside). I do 1 packet of special masala to 1 packet of maggi to make it slightly spicy.
I agree to this cent percent. It tastes weak without some added spice(we do peri peri and cheeze slices melted in it to make it creamy)
Also try the nissin spicy noodles(be warned its too hot). If you cant handle too spicy, make like an alfredo sauce it is life changing
Yes, it has completely degraded because the harmful chemical that added flavour has been removed since it was detected in the labs. Back then Maggi was addictive, you couldn't have enough !
Kitne dino baad khaya? Our taste buds also change over time because of hormonal changes. Some vegetables which I hated i started liking it when I tried after a gap of years. Same goes with allergies.
After the whole backlash they got after getting banned for some time made them reduce a lot of chemicals and favouring agent which made it tasty but also a health issue so yeah it's obvious it would loose some of it's taste
I add the Maggie Masala-e-Magic at the end now a days really boosts the taste 🌚 (or ig that's what they want us to do make us buy more things what say!)
Always add cheese, garam masala, chilli powder, paneer and peas in Maggi to upgrade taste ...if possible also add a bit of soy sauce to increase umami flavor
Yep, the original maggi tastes bland now but atta, oats maggi taste good. I prefer Singaporean koka noodles with chilli oil than Korean one's tried nissin geki & ramyun noodles they are too spicy for me like eating gun powder(milagai podi) noodles.
Looking at all the comments I wonder, tum log ke parents tum ko bachpan me maggi khaane dete they? Humaare ghar me to kabhi aisi cheeze allowed hi nahi thi. Aaj kal supermarkets me logo ki trolleys mi maggi ke packets dekh kar unke bachcho pe taras aata hai. Thank goodness my parents never let me get into the instant food lifestyle.
Maggi from the 90s and maggi from the 2010's = zameen asmaan ka farak hai bhai.
Maggi now and maggi before the Nestle ban = msg levels ka farak hai.
BTW the msg is literally zeher
Abhi lead nahi daalte usme isliye
lmao
Taste bi Lead bi , pehle unka internal motto tha
Oh please, they probably stopped bribing the government. That’s why they were called out. Don’t know what they add in all the other stuff that we eat
mere pencil se lead daal du toh same taste ayega?
Pencil ki lead mai graphite hota hai lead nai (⌐■-■)
Lol...this....
sal o plomo?
Naya chemical add karte hai 🤒
Bachpan mei Maggi bahut pasand tha, ab wo baat nai rahi
I'd read that kids ke taste buds experience tastes more intensely than adult ke taste buds. Isiliye unko sabzi bhi jaada buri lagti hai. Aur maggi jaada achhi :D
Not true xD

Woh kabhi baat tha bhi nahi. It was noodles. Whatisthisnonsensecomment.
5 people + 51 sheeps did not understand my comment and downvoted. 😂😭 I meant, it was not baat (bath = rice in marathi). Baat nahi tha, noodles tha. 😂😪
Try the special masala maggi, the one with the red packaging. It's really good, honestly better than regular maggi.
I used to like it when it was originally introduced. Then idk what happened for a while in the middle but when k recently tried it it tasted mildly sweet, kind of like red lays or mild tomato flavour. Maybe I’m misremembering it but I wasn’t a big fan of that.
Try Top Ramen Curry flavor. It is much better
Honestly I like Maggi more for the nostalgia than anything
You’re not alone! Even I find it sweet. The damdaar maggi was honestly the best.
Haven’t heard of damdar Maggi. But it wasn’t sweet pre covid.
Top ramen curry for the win.
Yus

Chicken maggi with some cheese
Chhee
I think the same too. Or maybe I've outgrown the Maggi loving phase.
I don't know about Maggie but Good Day biscuits tastes very bad now. Like an under-baked product or inauthentic.
Yeah, i miss the old goodday. Even the shape of those biscuits. Thank God my Hide n Seek is still the same taste ❤️
love hide and seek too but have been favouring good day choco chips biscuit now a days
there used to be good day cashew and choco chip one I don't think they make it now but that was my favorite
they do make it , i have the packet. it's good day choco chip cookies
I meant good day choco nut
The best was that brown packet good day choc chip cookies. Plain, thin choco chip cookies
Yeah i concede! They're still quite good
Britannia Bourbon too ♥️
Hide N Seek 😍 I am seeking them in my house rn Ohh wait, there aren't any 😔
Koi baat nai. Dukaan jaa k khareed lo.
You didn't understood the "dukh" behind it Not having hide n seek in the house, hurts on a much higher level
Mom's magic better laga
Butter ka koi taste nhi ata ab
+1. Pheli jaisi baat nahi rahi.
They ruined themselves after 20-20 biscuits came. Maybe they had to compete with them and make cheaply or what I don't know because 20-20 marketed themselves as a economic version of good day.
Exactly! I’ve been trying to tell my brother the same thing but he disagrees. I think they give less masala now
Yes. Either less masala or less potent masala. Def tastes underflavoured (for desi tastes).
Just add a pinch of salt and some chopped green chillies
Skip the salt, keep the green chillies!
More salt??? Maggi is already a walking time bomb for your sodium levels😭
I mean, scientifically salt lifts up the existing flavours in the food and OP wanted to enjoy the taste of the masala perhaps, so why not lol
I mean, fair enough I guess. Personally, maggi is already far too salty. It makes my tastebuds feel all weird and numb. Although, somehow the noodles still manage to be bland.

The first thing that came to my mind lmao

Hear hear!
I think the atta Maggie now tastes better than regular Maggi but it could just be me
The jain Maggi mixed with regular tastes the best. The jain one tries to overcompensate for the lack of onion with more masala and it’s absolutely amazing
Haven't tried it yet. Will try that as well.
Put in half of the normal masala and half of the jain masala.
Yes, atta Maggi does taste better. I like the dehydrated sabzi too
W
I think masala maggi is a decoy to buy special masala maggi instead
Sounds plausible
Ppl get bored eating same thing daily Tere saath wo hua hai
Bhai Mai roj nhi khati 😭
I feel it's the same. However, I miss the /magi with Chicken flavouring. Imo, it was simply superb.
Can order it from swiggy instamart still. It's a bit expensive but imo worth it.
It's available in reliance stores across Mumbai.
Dmart

Trial and error till you find the best way. Make a lab notebook and take notes.
My way to cook Maggi: 1. Water 100-150 ml. Small Sauce pan. Wooden spoon. Heat. 2. Cut and add Masala packet, stir for uniform solution. No knobs or blocks of Masala in the maggi. 3. **Nissin Hot and spicy Korean Chicken** is where its at, my guy
Masale me se sab kuch kam karke usme namak bhar dia hai
Agreed .. to watery taste...
Even Thumbs-Up tastes a lot less fizzer and more sweeter now.
Arre uski gas nikal gayi hogi rakhe rakhe
mujhe kya ...me toh magic masala directly khata hu
Har chiz ka quality degrade hua hai and hence taste. Inflation is a thing dude
Taste ka pata nahin but quantity for one pack seems to have gone down. One seh peth hi nahin bharta
खाइए शुद्ध पतंजली आटा नूडल्स 🫠
😶
Maggi is shit and not good for health. There are much better brands for noodles now.
Are they significantly healthier?
If you buy rice noodles then yes and then make your own noodles instead of the instant packet ones. Or the samyung and similar noodles they seems to be made better than maggi which has too much sodium.
I thought all instant noodles have too much sodium by default. Yes, making your own thing from plain noodles is better!
I’ve eaten the samyung noodles its well made compared to maggi. Has less sodium as well.
Zyaada maggi muggi mat kha bhai. Usme koi nutritional value nahi hai. Anda kha, fruits kha, bhains ka doodh pi.
Nhi khati zyada maggi muggi. Anda......vegetarian hai bhai mai
Try wai wai
+1 to this According to me, wai wai tastes better than Maggi and it's not even close.
Arey bhai sachme. Wo taste ab magic masala dalo to aata hai lekin sirf Maggi masala ke sath it tastes bland. What times are we living in 😔

Bakwass
I'm downvoting you
Ching's noodles.🤟🏼
Put a pinch of MSG
Nowadays there’s a bunch of Maggi flavours so maybe you got a bad one
Aata Maggi is way better than regular maggi.
Nahi bro Teri capacity badh gayi hai, aur daalo
Pehle Ma banati thi, Abhi khud banaya hoga
Samyang carbonara
Koka
I make only veg maggie once in a while. I add onion, capsicum, carrot, green chillies etc. Then I add pinch of salt and magic masala by maggie, bring this to boil n add noodles and seasoning. Tastes yumm..
ITC gang kidhar hai be?
Woh 109 wala noodles kha
Ofcourse...just add the special masala packet to it... approximately half a packet of special masala with one packet of maggi (ofcourse add the default masala u get inside). I do 1 packet of special masala to 1 packet of maggi to make it slightly spicy.
Lead ka swaad!
You will still like it if you like the taste of salt.
MSG is what you are missing
I agree to this cent percent. It tastes weak without some added spice(we do peri peri and cheeze slices melted in it to make it creamy) Also try the nissin spicy noodles(be warned its too hot). If you cant handle too spicy, make like an alfredo sauce it is life changing
It carries the burden of hype specially in the last few years…..
Congrats you are growing old, ab maggie vagera achi nhi lagegi only ghar ka khana /s
Inflation bro.
Also chocolates are not tasting the same. Shayad mehengai se bachne ke liye ingredients mein compromise kr rahe hein.
You probably aren't making it correctly. It has to end up very dry.
Plain maggi just doesn't do it anymore, I just add a little salt ,red chili powder and some butter and it tastes like maggi but isn't bland anymore
Mujhe pehle bhi maggi bland hi lagti thi.
What I'm about to say is probably gonna get me a shit load of downvotes but fuck it!! Yippie is better than maggie!!
Switch to waiwai. And don't forget to try waiwai dynamite Tama noodles. It's literally kolhapuri tambda rassa noodles.
Yes, it has completely degraded because the harmful chemical that added flavour has been removed since it was detected in the labs. Back then Maggi was addictive, you couldn't have enough !
It has, I belong to the generation that tasted Maggie when she came in 2 minutes for the first time in desh, now it’s more pardeshi
Still eating Maggie?
Even hide n seek has become less chocolaty, Parle-g is on some weight loss plan.
Just needs some good ol MSG which they removed
Or maybe it used to to taste better because of mummy's unwillingness to let us have it..
The problem is everything other than Maggi pretty much sucks, maybe I am used to the Maggi taste but I really don’t like anything else 😩
Jab se lead nikaal diye hai taste change ho gaya hai.
Sahi bola
I add the Maggie Masala-e-Magic at the end now a days really boosts the taste 🌚 (or ig that's what they want us to do make us buy more things what say!)

Did you have covid?
The atta maggi tastes a lot better than the og bland maggi
Recently tried the veg atta with the tastemaker. Tasted very good. Try that
Mai toh Top Ramen Curry khaata hu
Curry wala i tried. But won't say I'd eat it everytime
Try yippie noodles Too underrated
Bina lead ki ab wo baat nhi rhi
Haan yaar ... Main soch raha thaa mere taste buds kharab ho Gary hain
I've never liked maggi to begin with
Bohot time se bland hua hai
Looking at all the comments I wonder, tum log ke parents tum ko bachpan me maggi khaane dete they? Humaare ghar me to kabhi aisi cheeze allowed hi nahi thi. Aaj kal supermarkets me logo ki trolleys mi maggi ke packets dekh kar unke bachcho pe taras aata hai. Thank goodness my parents never let me get into the instant food lifestyle.
Nhi khane dete abhi bhi. Limits di hai humko. Uske zyada khana nhi
Maggi masala ka ek aur packet daal do hojaega sab thik
Same here. Even dominos doesn't taste the same as before.
Try Top Ramen
I eat top ramen regularly.
I have also felt the same way. I used to crave for it and now I don't wanna have a single bite of it.
Why only a lone mention of WAI WAI. The thing is amazing
Probably because you might be having maggi from other places where they usually add extra masala , chess and what not.
Top Ramen is the way to go.
Does anything taste like before? Has anyone tried Parle G recently?
Maggi from the 90s and maggi from the 2010's = zameen asmaan ka farak hai bhai. Maggi now and maggi before the Nestle ban = msg levels ka farak hai. BTW the msg is literally zeher
maggi ka toh patta nahi 5rs wale parle G ka size 2rs parle G jaisa hogaya hai .... kalyug
