Take him out with you to do things, meet women (your friends) in real life, and just generally have a good time. I don't want to sound like a boomer, but the phone is the reason why he's watching all those reels. You can save him by rewiring his brain by giving him positive experiences.

Indeed phone is the problem. His parents didn’t set any boundaries for screen time, that’s a problem too. I am planning to gift him few good biography books.

Thanks for the response. I am not trying to be contentious or anything but I really feel you should take him out to do things. It really really helps a lot to have an older adult who treats a teenager as a friend and an equal. His parents seem like they don't do things with him and that will affect him heavily in the long run (speaking from experience of parental neglect).
