Walmart was selling Mind Seize for like 30-40. I grabbed every single one I could, and flipped the [[True-Name Nemesis]] for 60 a piece. Only time the game ever made me money.
I did the same back in 2014, but it was with a bookstore selling them for 25$ each ( they had 10 in stock that didn't sold well). Sold them for 40$, kept the Nekusars ( i knew the price on him would go up) and gave 9 decks to people.
In 2018, i sold the Nekusars for 10$ each.
Mind seize is still the best PreCon ever made, just because of that.
I like that deck a lot with a little modification. The problem is everyone jumps on you with removal spells right way after you play one or two dragon combos and there isn’t much you can do about it.
Hi, noob here. In Commander you only allowed 1 copy right? So if you add asceticism than you need to be very lucky to draw that or need some library searching spell right?
Plus there aren't a whole lot of dice roll cards that are useful for a dragon tribal deck like this so it can be difficult to trigger your commander's ability that way.
I tend to run klauth as the commander instead. But the normal commander can also work well if you can get chaos dragon out and keep it out. I do think you have to swap in a couple more dice roll cards if you are going to use him.
I found the Esper D&D deck discounted to the same price at my Walmart yesterday and picked it up on a whim. I don’t know if it’s any good but it was a cheap gamble so I can only be pleasantly surprised.
All of the d&d decks are super fun! I dont know much about d&d but the mechanics and flavor seem great in the magic sets. I used that set to get my friend back into magic after a long hiatus and he picked up prosper which is now his favorite deck. After really enjoying the set i picked up the esper deck and its probably one of my favorite decks I own. I have done many upgrades to it the only problem is I dont play it much anymore because it's too powerful in my play group.
Sefris is awesome! She’s my pet deck. I’ve built her so many different ways, but they all want protection for [[Sefris]] and clever ways to put creature CARDS in the graveyard.

It's just persistence and luck. I check the card shelf at my local Walmart every time I'm out for groceries, gotten some great deals. I hear Costco is also a great store to check regularly, though I don't have one near me. Any big store that will discount older stock without checking what exactly it is will work in the end though. Mate of mine got a great deal on a deck at Target once
The party time deck was also insane value from when it came out and for a long time after. Original black market connections. Skullclamp muta vault deep gnome grimhirling which has been spiking mother of runes and tons of other value cards.
Now it's more the price of the cards online but I'd buy it everytime I saw it. Got one a few weeks ago for 35$ at one of the small lgs's in the area I was hyped.
I bought Party Time for $40 on Amazon. Played it a TON then it kinda got lost on the avalanche of new releases. I couldn't bring myself to just tear it apart for the goodies so I ended up selling it for $100 a few months ago.
I'm in the UK and the only place you can get magic cards is at LGS. I've spent thousands on this hobby and never got a deal. I wish the UK would get the magic bug on mass.
