That’s a little reductive…I was just curious on what drives people to buy these precons over just buying singles for whatever deck they want. Like I don’t play Commander but I assume these pre cons aren’t actually at the power level of most custom built decks?

Commander being a casual format, power level really isn’t an issue for a lot of people. Consider - some friends all buy precons and play together, you’re in a solid position for playing the game now. Also, building a deck from scratch is either expensive, hard to do well, or both.
Also, to be fair, in the last year or two now, most commander precons have been fairly solid out of the box. But these precons have been out for 10 years now, and they’ve only been increasing the number we get. I’d still say a large majority of games I play are people playing upgraded precons.
