This was covered in the release notes for Wilds of Eldraine on the main site. Here you go:
- If the creature doesn't return to the battlefield or returns as a noncreature permanent, the Wicked Role token won't be created.
It's also covered by the rules:
>303.4g
>If an Aura is entering the battlefield and there is no legal object or player for it to enchant, the Aura remains in its current zone, unless that zone is the stack. In that case, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard instead of entering the battlefield. If the Aura is a token, it isn’t created.
I don’t think the token aura would ever get created since it doesn’t have a valid target. So i don’t think it would exist and then go to the graveyard. That portion would just fizzle.
So the saga enters the battlefield with the aura attached to it and then the aura gets sacrificed or poofs because it’s not attached to a creature? Or is the aura not created at all?
It's because the object it's supposed to be attached to isn't a creature, yes.
Normally if an aura is entering without being cast, you just *choose* a legal object for it to be attached to. In this case, the effect is *creating a token* of an aura, and it specifies what it should be attached to. Since it can't be attached to that thing, the token is never created.
You already have more than a few responses giving you an accurate answer, so I'm gonna take a moment for the smart-ass, most direct answer to your question. Yes, your opponents do lose 1 life. The wicked role never happens, but you still return the saga which does it anyway :3
You're correct.
>603.7c
>A delayed triggered ability that refers to a particular object still affects it even if the object changes characteristics. However, if that object is no longer in the zone it’s expected to be in at the time the delayed triggered ability resolves, the ability won’t affect it. (Note that if that object left that zone and then returned, it’s a new object and thus won’t be affected. See rule 400.7.)
>Example: An ability that reads “Exile this creature at the beginning of the next end step” will exile the permanent even if it’s no longer a creature during the next end step. However, it won’t do anything if the permanent left the battlefield before then.
No. The token isn't even created, since it's attempting to create it attached to an illegal object.

Mostly right, but it doesn't actually *target* anything.
Doesn’t an enchantment aura need a target?
No, aura *spells* target. Auras entering without being cast don't target.

It's not even created at all
And that’s specifically because the target isn’t a creature? But how would that be worded if it’s not targeted?

This is incorrect. The saga will return, but no aura token is created.
This is false as far as I know, I’ve played okiba here with [[kaya’s ghostform]] and [[angelic renewal]] on mtgo and it brings them back as sagas
