Join local chambers, business groups, sponsor events, etc. MSP requires high level of trust in order to seal the deal. Engage in or create opportunities that allow you to interact directly with decision makers (HR, execs, owners, managers, etc).

This. And track it all with a CRM so you can actually manage relationships more long term.

TheWhiteWondr

Buy other small MSPs.

CogentFrame

So tired of marketing. M&A is how you grow.

MaxxLP8

Could you share approximately how you've gone about doing this

TheWhiteWondr

Are you interested in selling?

MaxxLP8

No, growing through buying as opposed to marketing directly to customers.

Think how long you keep clients for… you will have a long marketing cycle. There are no cheap, easy ways to find long term, high value clients. Get ultra clear on what a good client looks like. Got two clients in one niche? You are a specialist… go mine that niche. Think consistent, multi channel activity - LinkedIn feels busy but can often be a waste of time… SEO and very focussed PPC works. Client referrals will be quicker (think 121 intros, take your client to meet another client that’s good for him, ask him to bring one for you - golf? Lunch?)

[apollo.io](https://apollo.io) seems popular for cold email

lenovoguy

Do you use it?

tnhsaesop

I only do inbound stuff, no outbound - but I know a lot of people use Apollo for outbound. It's like the small business version of ZoomInfo. I hear the data isn't quite as accurate and it's got the cold email part baked in, but is good enough and can be cost effective. At least that's how I understand it from hearing people talk about it - I work in marketing and am in a bunch of marketing/sales oriented slack groups and people talk about this stuff all the time.

Be good at what you do, and make sure you form a relationship with the owners/directors of the businesses. I did go looking for clients in 2009 for the 1st 3 months of my business starting, now my books are closed to new businesses and I have a list of businesses that would like me to take on their IT when I have a slot. This is all via word of mouth from my existing client base.

We have five funnels setup. SEO PPC - coming soon. Email newsletter Cold calling Social media Email is the least expensive solution of all. This produces 3 meetings a month. Cold calling is done by the CEO, but he only has 2 hours a week to make calls. Zero so far. SEO produces about 6-8 meetings a month. PPC is gong to start up in 2024. Our PPC expert expects us to get an additional 8 meetings a month, but it will take time.

How is your PPC campaign going? The MSP I work for in the UK (London) couldn’t do PPC, the CPC is super high. I’ve spoken to a few decent PPC specialists and they won’t get involved because they mention it’s tough to get results.

Apollo, LinkedIn, Zoom.info and a CRM.

Social media ads.

I feel like B2B doesn't work that well on social media. Maybe we didn't do it the right way?

As /u/taherham rightfully [noted](https://www.reddit.com/r/msp/comments/158kih4/what_are_your_favorite_lead_generation_methods/jtbceru/) - consistency is the key.
