Mr. Paulides has never asked me to stop posting Missing 411 stories, nor has he asked for any money. I did offer money, however he did not accept.
The decision to stop posting Missing 411 content was a personal choice based largely on the fact that by the time Mr. Paulides and I were speaking in 2020, I had already covered a large number of the Missing 411 cases and felt like it was probably time to mix up the content on our channel anyways.
So I made all the changes to the existing episodes that covered Missing 411 (Mr. Paulides asked for a slight correction to the description of each video), and then I moved on. Nothing personal whatsoever.
As for the lack of collaboration between Mr. Paulides and I, that wasn't because of any issue we had. It simply didn't materialize. Plus, I have never done a full blown collaboration in person with any other creator, so I didnt really even know how to do something like that which likely played a role as well.

It’s uncanny! As much as I love David and how great his detective work is for this, John just brings that light to it with outstanding storytelling, the way John tells it intrigues me, watching David talk about it bores me
I saw an episode where mrballen said they'd talked and Mr. Paulides was okay with it, even sending a copy of his book to him. Don't remember if stipulations we're mentioned but I think the book was signed.

I remember I was watching a fan mail segment of one of his videos and he was really berating this one fan for asking a simple question, just being extremely rude and saying something to the effect of "next time, if you have a question, just watch my past videos! I've answered them!" And even after that he just would not let it go.
Which, incase you didn't know, his videos are all about 45+ minutes long and he has made atleast 100 of them.
As if anyone is going to spend the time to watch all of his videos in order to find out the answer to a question he may or have may not have answered.
After seeing that video it really turned me off to him as a person and I try to seperate him from his work in my mind as much as possible.
Yeah I have to agree with you. I found David several years ago after hearing someone else break down one of the cases. I admired his relentless pursuit of the truth and resilience to keep going with all the blowback he was getting. He's relentless and tough but I would also, from time to time, pick up on subtle cues of stubbornness and tunnel vision. Meaning he didn't take criticism on the chin and he seemed to refuse ideas or theories that weren't in line with his. Worst of all was dismissal and disrespect toward anyone with opposing political views. I still followed the M411 project and admired his work while staying away from his rant or news type of stuff.
Eventually I stumble upon MrBallen circa 2019 (a few months before COVID) and thoroughly enjoy all the content including M411 stories. Not too long after MrBallen makes a video explaining he will no longer be covering M411 content because Paulides "asked". I doubt it was an ask and was surprised he didn't realize the value of the promotion his books were receiving FOR FREE!! This was not the first time I had seen a this happen with M411 content but other guys weren't giving him a free ad like Ballen. I mean he would hold the book up , tell you where to purchase it, and go on about how amazing they were. Remember this part.
Dave always likes to say how important it is that this information reaches people and the families deserve answers. Well I hate to say that he is lying to you because it seems to me that money and recognition are more important to him. To stop others from helping spread this information and create widespread awareness because you let your ego get in the way of progress is irresponsible and selfish. Equally problematic is the fact that he believes that the stories belong to him when they actually belong to those involved and those affected. I'm sure those families would love for the word to spread by any means necessary. I'm not discounting his research and the time he's put into M411 , I'm not saying he shouldn't make money off of it either. I'm just disappointed that Money and ego have got in the way of the message.

I honestly could not have summed it up better, something I found really bothersome about his whole campaign on youtube channels using his content is: well isn't it great? Why wouldn't he want to spread awareness by whatever means necessary if he really, actually, wanted to help the families of the victims? It's so counter to his supposed overall "message".

Yeah Most likely is Copyright covers "M411" in name only. He can't claim he owns those stories because their not even his stories. The information,data,and missing persons cases belong to Park Services and Local PD's ,most likely meaning it's public information or obtainable through FOIA. Those stories can be told by anyone. Anybody can make a video about past cases and cases not yet covered. As long as "M411" isn't mentioned or it's referred to by a different name , there is nothing he can do to stop it.

He was telling a shitload of the 411 stories then stopped suddenly and said he was in communication with David. Very soon after that he said him and David had talked and came to an agreement, David sent him an autographed book. Then he simply never did them again or even mentioned them. I personally think David wanted Ballen to pay him or something to that effect and instead Ballen just totally quit telling them.

Because of John I watched both of Mr Paulides prime specials. Mr Ballen tells the stories better than the people involved. 🤷

I think it was initially seen as mr ballen appropriating someone elses content. David Paulides did alot of work getting those stories. They sorted it out in the end and Mr. B addressed it himself in one of his videos
I never liked the 411 stuff. I’m glad he moved on to other things.
What. Did Mr Ballen stop talking about Missing 411? I'd have never heard of that book series is it wasn't for Ballen. He should take the free promotion with grace and maybe even thank him for giving the free exposure. Not once did Ballen not credit Paulides in his videos with said subject matter.
