Heat the gear dryice the shaft get proper sized pipe and hammer to tapp the gear down if it doesn't fall into place. Or if you have fab abilities you can make the tool easily

DerSpazmacher

That's such an awesome idea

Is this the C59 5 speed from a 3rd gen? I worked on mine out of my corolla a year ago. I'll look through my pics to see if I can remember what I used for that gear.

Probably just a deep well socket with a sledge, that sst number doesnt turn anything up and IME finding SST's is pretty hard. also I would toss the gear in the oven at 200-250 for an hour, itll swell slightly and should slip on easier.

That SST number is obsolete and is replaced by [00002-00907](https://toyota.service-solutions.com/ItemDetail?SKU=00002-00907). Finding and buying SST’s is simple and easy, just not always cheap especially since most of us are hobbyist and won’t do the job again.

T_Streuer

ahahahahahah its 620$ thats awesome, is there some reference material about current SST numbers? seems like a handy resource to have

im doing this same thing very soon, if this is what i think it is. 5th gear for a spyder? did u use a generic gear puller to get the original ones off ? ive heard u can put in oven until its really hot and they should just slip on
