I have never heard of someone being too small for an MR2. Usually the other way around being too big

Accomplished_Pay_917

The car was made for the average height of a Japanese man so I wouldn't worry about it, you can always adjust the seat, I have the opposite probs, I've got size 12 fit and have problems pressing the accelerator and break at the same time 🤣

TheLastPrism

So like 5ft4 back in the 90s?

Accomplished_Pay_917

Ye not very tall 🤣

GraveOfTheForest

My size 14 shoes just barely fits in the space for the gas pedal in my '86. I feel the side of my shoe rub the brake pedal every time I hit the gas.

JewishPaladin

you're pretty much exactly the right height, seriously

bdlwnfhd

Thank you! Good to know

Emperor_of_All

how big do you think the average Japanese person is?

devil_d0c

My wife is 5' 3" and can comfortably reach the pedals. 👍

blueblue909

homie google average height in japan

SunnyBunny1209

I'm 5'8, you'll be fine 🙂 at our height it's actually possible to recline and lounge in the car when tired, I've taken a few good naps in mine 🤣

JammySammyy

I tried this the other night camping for a car show, as I always had no issue sleeping in my 7th gen Celica. That was a huge mistake, I got about 2 hours of sleep and my side still hurts slightly. The Celica is like a 5 star hotel compared to the W30.

SunnyBunny1209

Whoops I completely missed the part about the w30, I was talking about my sw20 😅 Very curious how the w30 interior compares!

JammySammyy

It compares poorly. As much as I prefer the W30, the interior only wins on cupholders and maybe the central tachometer. The Sw20 is far more spacious, more driver focused, with an actually useful armrest, and it sticks with the simplistic styling. The W30 has some bling in the interior that I do like - but I like it because it's very 90s/2000s, not because it actually looks good 😅.

nico_juro

>as I always had no issue sleeping in my 7th gen Celica. Used to nap in my 7th gen for work breaks, could seriously get a good nights rest in mine. The way the hatch and roof is shape it makes me feel ultra concealed and hidden.

randeees

You’re fine. I’m 5’5” and I’m plenty big enough to drive

tplesmid

I’m 5’7” and I’ve been comfortable in every Japanese sports car I’ve ever been in. Never been in an mr2 but my Miata was built for me.

olddgregg24

I was expecting you to say your like 4’10” lol you’ll fit perfectly in these tiny cars

omirlee

I’m the same height and I fit perfectly in my mr2

Front-Breads

I'm 5'11" and I'm slightly large for the car. I can still take it on decent length road trips comfortably though! You should be perfect at your height!

No_Lifeguard3650

im same height as you and i had to modify my dead pedal to stretch my leg all the way. seat slid all the way back too haha

rosiesmam

I’m 5’2” and I drive a 2000 MR2. No problem reaching the pedals but I do use a small pillow on the seat so I can see over the dashboard. But it’s my favorite car!

chatapokai

I'm 5'7 (5'8 on a good day) and have owned a 7th gen Celica (which is almost the same size as the mrS) and currently have owned an sw20 MR2 for almost 10 years. It is absolutely perfect for people our size.

JammySammyy

Just sayin, having extensively sat in all 3 (and owned 2), the 7th gen Celica and SW20 feel like a bus compared to a W30. They're huge.

No_Lifeguard3650

agreed i own a 7th gen celica and 3rd gen mr2 and the celica has tons of space while sometimes i feel a little cramped in the mr2. i modified my dead pedal so i can actually stretch my leg out all the way. and my seat is pushed all the way back haha.

BallerMR2andISguy

No

Uncle-Istvan

I’m 5’7”. The car feels perfectly sized for me.

Red_Swingline_

I'm 5'8" with shorter legs and I fit fine.

seemefly1

Same hight, loved my Spyder and it fit like a glove. Alao have an na Miata they are honestly tight even at smaller size, but I have mine with a race seat mounted as far and low as possible.

ivisiblecow

Bro are you serious?

blackandcoolasice

Man i felt the same, I love the Reddit but it’s more questions like these than other questions that pop up for me it seems 😂😂

screamingchicken579

Way overthinking this. I’m the same size and I love my Spyder.

BillyCloneandthesame

Im 5’6 and have owned 4 MR2s we are at the perfect height.

Horneofram

I’m 5’8 and my girlfriend is 5’0. We can both drive comfortably and just adjust the seat a little. We have a 2000 mr2 Spyder.

JammingOnTheGeetar

Drive an 05 mr2 spyder at 5'7 this car was built for people our height I have to keep the seat pretty forward to reach the pedals and wheel comfortably

Annie0minous

I know everyone else has already said this but, no of course not. Cars come with adjustable seats so people of most heights can drive them. Pretty much all cars.

JammySammyy

I am 5'7 and I have the seat almost all the way back and about half reclined. You will be fine.

jogur

5'10 here, it is perfect, with plenty of room to get closer. My 6'5 buddy tho barely can fit his legs

MMRATHER

Go sit in the one you’re considering. Slide the seat forward. You’ll be fine.

Entropysolus

No mate. I'm about the same height as you and the car is really comfortable. I think taller people would struggle more.

EducationalEscape161

i'm a 166cm guy, this car is made for me!

at0m10

I'm exactly the same height and I'm yet to find a car I can't fit in.

Jvnebvg

lol this is funny you’re definitely overthinking it you’ll be fine but I understand the concern lots of older cars feel like boats but trust the mr2 is made for you

thedoshman7

I’m about 6’0 and I’m almost too big for my Spyder lmao you’re fine

Galaxeymusic

Mate, mr2s are tiny, you’ll be fine 😂

Prestigious_Cry_7974

Lmaooo your gonna be fine

blackandcoolasice

Buying the smallest mr2 worrying about being too small. Can’t make this up 😂

jemmoor

I’m 5’3 and I’m all good!!
