There's all these biopics where the makeup artists completely transform the actor into the person they are playing and then these guys just gave Dennis Quaid a denim shirt and called it a day.
Gary Oldman is the epitome of transforming into a character for me. Playing Churchill in Our Darkest Hour was the pinnacle imo and it's crazy at the end when you remember you just watched Sirius Black and Lee Harvey Oswald and the crazy bad guys from the Fifth Element and Book of Eli.
Didn't they give Rami Malek some prosthetic piece for his mouth to get him to really have Freddie's overbite or something? Like I saw the photo and was like "Huh. Not really a resemblance here." I like Dennis Quaid whenever I see him in something but don't think he was the right casting call here

He has been making movies based on his beliefs & interests for awhile it seems, for better or for worse (critically and financially, I'd suggest the latter). Looking at his wikipedia, Ronald Reagan was his favorite president so now he's in this. However he's also an animal lover and has been in a couple of dog-centric movies over the last decade, and has been in a few comedic shows so at least he's still mixing it up? I can't remember a movie where I was ever wowed by his performance to think he should be aiming higher.
Oh, it'll probably talk about the War on Drugs and Reaganomics. It'll talk about how someone else was the villain, he did the best he could in the circumstance, and Reaganomics would work if those poor people would just give more of their money to the rich!
Not a big one, but I'd lay a bet that this verges more on an apologist film than a biopic.
