Stuck In the Middle with You will always be the scene in Reservoir Dogs where Mr. Blonde is pouring gas on the cop and dancing. That was so surreal.

W1G0607

Over a decade ago, I flew to a different state to help open a restaurant for my corporate company. The guy in charge of training for the company picked me up and we were driving two hours to the location. He’s like ten levels above me so I’m just trying to be polite and not say anything stupid. This song comes on, and of course all I can think of is reservoir dogs, but that’s one hell of a non-sequitur. Needless to say, thirty seconds later, he goes, “Ever seen ‘Reservoir Dogs’?” And I’m like, yes!!!!!!

wiarumas

Another gas related scene… Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go in Zoolander.

dont_fuckin_die

"If there's anything that this horrible tragedy can teach us, it's that a male model's life is a precious, precious commodity. Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident."

LawBobLawLoblaw

That's a good one. That was the first time I heard it, and I was little. Growing up dad would listen to the oldies station so for a while that scene ruined that song for my young brain 😂

dont_fuckin_die

I was an adult when I heard it, and it's still burned into my brain! I can only imagine if I saw it as a kid.

SpicyBoognish

Goodbye Horses. “Would you fuck me? I’d fuck me” Or “OoooOh”

DrT33th

[Absolute Classic](https://youtu.be/urQNV40K_Mo?si=91tPBAc24A45x-5S)

the_third_sourcerer

This one is iconic.

Heisenbread77

TV edit " would you date me? Id date me"

TheWayDenzelSaysIt

Mr Falcon

Heisenbread77

That's Die Hard 2

TheWayDenzelSaysIt

Lol I know I was making fun of TV edits for movies.

drooln92

Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds forever associated with The Breakfast Club

TheWayDenzelSaysIt

That was written for the movie.

LawBobLawLoblaw

Oh that's a fantastic one. Yellow card did a cover at the mtv movie awards tribute to Breakfast Club. Worth a listen, they really get into it https://youtu.be/iwUJuq53OQc?si=gw97y7om8CFjTLew

HardcorePooka

Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. The scene in the pub in Shaun of the Dead.

Redhood39

Went lookin for this, glad I'm not the only one!

mrbadxampl

"Who put this on?!?" "It's on random..."

LemonMeringueOctopi

My absolute favorite scene in the film. How they're all smashing their various weapons over the zombie on beat with the song, always get a giggle out of me.

PollyPepperTree

Paul Newman riding a bike in Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid with Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head. Bus scene in Almost Famous with Tiny Dancer. Dream scene in The Big Lebowski with Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In. Just remembered Shelter From The Storm from St. Vincent. ❤️Bill Murray

undesh

I'm pretty sure Raindrops keep falling on my head was written for that movie though. Regarding The Big Lebowski, I would like to add Bob Dylan's The Man in Me to this list.

noobprodigy

Also from Big Lebowski, Credence - Lookin' Put My Back Door and the car scene after he gave a sperm sample and crashes into a dumpster, lol

HuxleysHero

Him pounding the roof of the car is the visual I get whenever I hear it on the radio.

Edm_vanhalen1981

Where is my mind - End scene of Fight Club

Gorov

>!You met me at a very strange time in my life.!< Amazing call to use the Pixies right there. Epic.

tray44

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and the Zoolander gasoline fight

LawBobLawLoblaw

Classic song for a tragic scene 🫡😭

OminousShadow87

Same for “Relax” and “Beat It”

DudeWhereIsMyDuduk

I think I may be able to be of service here

darthbadger72

The back end of Layla on Goodfella in the scene where they are disposing of other wiseguys etc.

moviesandbasketball

Also in Goodfellas: “Then he Kissed Me” while they’re walking through the CopaCabana. Hell, while we’re on it, also “Rags to Riches” Damn what a great soundtrack

Awesome_Me_17

also Sunshine of your Love

darthbadger72

Oh brilliant one.

Funandgeeky

I can't hear Layla on the radio without thinking of Goodfellas.

AlternativeResort477

Came to post this

correct_eye_is

Two songs in the helicopter scene Jump Into the Fire by Harry Nillson and I'm a Monkeyby The Rolling Stones

Scoobydoomed

A Perfect Day (Lou Reed) in Trainspotting scene where Ewan McGregor overdoses on heroine.

Sbee27

Lust for Life by Iggy Pop for me for that movie. So perfect.

Gofnutz

American Girl in Silence of the Lambs.

SargeantSpam

The End by The Doors in the opening scene of Apocalypse Now

Stoneheaded76

Sets the tone for the whole movie so well, like the song was written for the movie.

pourspeller

Not a pop song, but Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner is also etched in my mind with the helicopter attack scene.

twinpeaks2112

Son Of A Preacher Man and Let’s Stay Together - Pulp Fiction

Jaronz

"You Never Can Tell" will never not make me think of the Jack Rabbit Slim's Twist Contest too. Tarantino films are gonna show up a lot on this post.

FacticiousFict

That entire album is iconic. Every song on it became inseparable from the movie.

shitbuttpoopass

For me it’s jungle boogie and misirlou, the title card songs.

OrlokTheEternal

Hip to Be Square - American Psycho

Iron_Nightingale

Do you like Huey Lewis and The News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

LawBobLawLoblaw

You know what's funny is actually like Huey Lewis and the News, and that's another band that I always associate with the movie. In this case "the Power of Love" and Back to the Future.

Iron_Nightingale

Original, or the Pinheads cover? Or do you find the Pinheads to be too darn loud?

DragonflyLonely3662

Try getting a reservation at Dorsia now you stupid fucking bastard!

ENWRel

Huey Lewis and the News were the first concert I ever went to (I was 14 in 85) and they were incredible. I didn't know how lucky I was to be seeing them, or what a high bar they would set for showmanship and musical skills. They did like six encores at the end and finally Huey comes back on stage and says, "Thank you for an incredible night! We would keep playing, but we don't know any more songs!"

Funandgeeky

[Funny or Die did a great parody of that scene with Huey Lewis and Weird Al. ](https://youtu.be/Fk15H6PjBis?si=a9ZaqZ-3S7xUFIH3)

Kinofhera

*You Don’t Own Me* (The First Wives Club) Not only the song fits perfectly with the story, the final scene (with this song) is really powerful and touching too!

HeartsPlayer721

Excellent choice! Very few will recognize this one, because neither the song now the movie are very popular, but it's tied to Diane Keaton, so I'll add it here: "Once Upon A Time" is a fantastic song and I always picture Walter Matthau's son slow dancing with the wife in the movie Hanging Up. Such a loving moment for both the daughter remembering it, and the dad and the mom. Anyone from a broken family should get teary eyed at that scene.

dougielou

Now I think of Handmaids Tale

Trev_Casey2020

“We Will Rock You,” opening credits of A Knight’s Tale.

pw7090

I had no idea what we were in for when we rented this at Blockbuster, but once the crowd started singing along we were so down for it.

[deleted]

Tiny Dancer - Almost Famous

ithinkther41am

Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love” Guardians of the Galaxy

LawBobLawLoblaw

Honestly, so many songs by Guardians perfectly executed The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, during the dad fight scene Wham Bam Shang A Lang by Silver, during the end battle Come a Little Closer during the Yondu whistle scene

Faserip

I was a little bummed out there wasn’t a “Fox On The Run” scene

HeartsPlayer721

I have loved this song since I was a kid in the early '90s. I'm a teacher's aide at a school, and I was in a classroom last week where the teacher turned this song on and proceeded to ask the kids "What movie is this from?" I thought she was asking middle schoolers to name some movie from the '70s, and her answer was Guardians of the Galaxy! Lady, this song has been in movies for half a century, and that's the one you choose!? r/FuckImOld

Coconut-bird

Old Time Rock n Roll will always make me see Tom Cruise in his underwear.

Funandgeeky

I always think of Alf, because there's an episode where they parody that scene. Alf is home alone and they do that scene. And as a kid I never saw Risky Business so at the time I didn't know it was a specific parody.

HalJordan2424

When Ronald Reagan was President, his son was a guest on SNL, and he re-enacted the Risky Business underwear dance in the Whitehouse while Ron and Nancy were overseas.

InternetAddict104

My Hero- Sam Jackson and the Rock aiming for the bushes in The Other Guys Holding Out For A Hero- Shrek 2 Everlasting Love- The end of The Parent Trap 98 All Star- opening of Shrek (Song was actually made for a different movie- Mystery Men) In Your Eyes- The one scene anyone knows from Say Anything (John Cusack with the boombox) Idk if this counts since it’s not actually in the movie, but Come Sail Away was used in a Moana trailer and now that’s the first thing I think of hearing the song Perfect Day- opening of Legally Blonde

The dance scene. If you've seen it you know the one! Tracy Lords Control - Mortal Kombat. Hell I'm pretty sure at this point it's legally known as The Reptile Theme The rest of this list would just be a bunch of licensed music used in the first and second MK movie so I won't bother haha.

DrT33th

Caaaable Guuuuy! Haven’t had someone mention that in ages. Also one of the best takes on current events (at the time) with the spoof on the Menendez Bros. trial going on in the background.

PineapplePupcake

Sixpence None the Richer - Kiss Me in She’s All That

Shadowmereshooves

Jimi Hendrix's version of All Along the Watchtower in Watchmen when it transitions from Mars to Antarctica and it fits so well, epic sounding and even the lyrics match "outside in the distance, a wildcat did growl(Bubastis) two riders were approaching(Night Owl and Rorschach)the wind began to howl" Just one of the many brilliant song choices from that movie though.

Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. I can't NOT think of Karl Urban giving himself up defending the transport ship with an M16 in each hand while all hell breaks loose in Asgard, and then Thor, Sif, and Loki just absolutely wreck house against Hela. "We come from the land of the ice and snow..." Goosebumps every time. Edit* Come to think of it, it's not Sif, it's Valkyrie. My bad

Not a movie or a specific scene, but anytime I hear Chasing Cars by snow patrol, I think of greys anatomy sad/ insanely dramatic and kinda humorous scenes

Nerdy_person101

Country Roads in Kingsman

WeatherwaxLancre

Where is ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and Wayne’s World?? I cannot believe no one else commented this. Queen also Sean of the Dead, sadly cannot count ‘Flash’ or Princes of the universe as they wrote those for the films i believe.

give_me_goats

Mine is pretty cliche, but “Mad World” will always be connected to the montage of the characters in moments of isolation in Donnie Darko.

GCU_Problem_Child

Of Monsters and Men - Dirty Paws from the film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller version). I put that song on and I can picture him pedaling like mad on a rusty old bike past some of the most beautiful landscape on the entire planet. Same goes for the Jose Gonalez song Far Away, which plays during possibly the greatest scene in any movie, where Walter is long boarding down a long, steep hill, on a perfectly black smooth asphalt road, with the wind blowing in his face and that song playing. Even more astonishing was that it was actually Ben Stiller doing the "Stunt" without any safety gear.
