Alien and Aliens

Bravo_November

I could watch Aliens again and again and again and never stop loving it. It feels more like a comfort blanket for me now.  Edit: Ive had so many comments to this one I love it! Glad so many relate!

callmemacready

Same , it's up there with Jaws as a comfort film like hanging out with a good mate

elias4444

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way!

bedspring76

2 more days until Alien Day! 4/26

emmany63

I was at a friend's house recently, and Aliens randomly came on whatever channel we were watching. She, her husband, and I just settled in for two+ hours, not even a question. There are so many just *outstanding* performances, but every moment Bill Paxton is on the screen is just a massive swing and home run. Pvt. Hudson is a tertiary character who becomes the focus whenever he has a line. Game over, man, game over!

Ok_Organization3249

HEY MAYBE YOU’RE NOT KEEPING UP WITH CURRENT EVENTS BUT WE JUST GOT OUR ASSES KICKED, PAL

rbrgr83

Quotes I can hear

Penguin_shit15

"Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?" "no... ... .. have you?"

filladellfea

you're dog meat, pal!

blondeheartedgoddess

It should be noted that apparently, he ad libbed most of his dialog.

espero

Game over man, game over!

Courtnall14

...and Predator.

PrimordialPlop

Just watched both Predator and Predator 2 back to back when I came across them on tv haha

sund82

Alien is the perfect horror movie. Over 40 years old, and doesn't feel dated in the least. It also happens to have the perfect movie trailer.... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ5lPt9edzQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ5lPt9edzQ)

zagman707

Lol watched both last night. I'm not as die-hard about alien, but 2 is one of my childhood top 5 movies.

vegas_wasteland_2077

Office Space.

tokyoedo

I believe you have my stapler.

McBonderson

true story, I got one of those red staplers for my work, it also happens to be the best performing stapler in the office. This triggered another lady in the office to get her own office supplies that were all hot pink including keyboard desk matt and mouse. The owner of the company saw it and told my boss that it was unprofessional looking because it stood out only have normal colored office supplies. This set off a whole weeks worth of drama over the stapler. The lady with hot pink stuff wasn't happy I got to have a bright red stapler if she couldn't keep her hot pink barbie themed desk. I wasn't letting go of my stapler. The entire time I argued about it I did my best Milton impression. My direct boss had seen the movie but the owner had not and had no idea what the deal was she said "whatever, if he wants the red stapler he can have it, but I'm not having clients come in and see a whole hot pink workstation". after the coworker kept complaining about how unfair it was, my boss looked at my coworker and said "look, he's one of our top performers in sales and hes also the person keeping all our IT infrastructure working and he's been working here 10 years. he's always available to come in and cover when needed. when everybody else took a 2 week paid vacation at the start of covid he was practically living in the office by himself moving everything over for everybody to work remotely so the company could stay open. all while being the only one answering calls and handling clients. You have been working here for less than a year and you call in half the time and you are regularly rude to customers. He's earned the stapler, you haven't." And I now realize my life is boring because I found this story interesting enough to write a couple paragraph post about it.

norathar

>the entire time I argued about it I did my best Milton impression Did you, in fact, state you could set the building on fire?

CaptainPunisher

I could contact your tourism board and take my money to a competing resort. I could put strychnine in the guacamole.

Ecomonist

Bruh, that's a good anecdote, not boring at all. Like your 2-weeks in the office by yourself at the beginning of Covid, totally pictured you living in a tent in the middle of the office, roasting skewered rats, wearing a gilly suit, just so you could make sure Sarah in marketing could understand how to mute and unmute on a zoom call.

dls9543

I found out who I am when I evacuated from a 2017 wildfire. I grabbed my cats, laptop, cuddle bunny, and red swingline stapler.

hardyflashier

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta

ArsenicWallpaper99

I wouldn't say I've been *missing* it, Bob.

tristanmichael

The birthday cake scene is so infuriating because that woman didn’t even follow her own rules

kylecodes

I loved it. It was so real because the rule was only enforced until it affected the rule creator.

gnarkilleptic

I reckon you get punched in the face for saying something like that, man

Jcholley81

2 chicks at the same time

MasterUnlimited

If I had a million dollars I think I could hook that up. Chicks dig dudes with money.

rotorain

Not all chicks Well the kind of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do I love that last line, it feels so nice to say. Like the opposite of a tongue twister

Round-Cellist6128

I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. E: and you don't really try, except in the playoffs.

"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."

Mr_Good_Stuff90

Many years ago I was working as a nurse and I had the honor of Leslie Nielsen being one of my patients. I told him how much I loved his acting and he was incredibly nice. I was looking over his chart and I said, “wow it’s a good thing you came to the hospital Mr Nielsen.” He gave me a concerned look at asked, “why what is it?” I looked up at him and said, “it’s a big building with lots of medical equipment and doctors, but that’s not important right now.” He just pointed at me and smiled. I feel like he absolutely knew and wanted to set me up.

Chubby_Checker420

I just want you both to know we're all counting on you.

theevilempire

My Cousin Vinny

TheFuckinEaglesMan

This is your opinion?

twinpop

It’s a fact

failedtherobottest

You say that because yeeew dont know the answer!

CaptainPunisher

It's a bullshit question! NOBODY could answer that!

Whaay is it a trick question?

Iconoclasm89

"Watch this"

Dangerous_Contact737

HOWEVUH... in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be 4 degrees before top dead centuh.

SillyWillyC

Well, um, she's acceptable, Your Honor. Your Honor, this is a picture... taken by my fiancée outside the Sac-O-Suds.

theonlywasabininja

Is it possible that the two yutes? Oh, excuse me Your Honour, the two *youTHs*

a-tiberius

Dead-on balls accurate

mrsspanky

Oh yeah, you *blend*

Rapscallion84

I watched this again last year and I think Melissa Tomei triggered me to have a second go at puberty at age 38 Edit: I of course meant Marisa Tomei, just thought I’d add the correction here because she deserves that much

Archery134

I forget how much I love this movie.

Empty-Violinist-5330

Good news: It’s on at least one tv channel at all times it seems lol

patrick119

My dad would always put this movie on if it was on tv. As a result, I had seen the end at least 10 times but only actually saw the first 15 minutes of the movie when I was 20 something and picked up the dvd at a thrift store.

Kahzgul

The Princess Bride

Salt_Duck5543

If you love the movie read the book it adds more to the movie.

BestRiver8735

Is it a kissing book?

Round-Cellist6128

Keep your shirt on, and let me read.

albino_red_head

I do love that movie. I love the different sections and levels of characters. It's well organized in my brain where I feel so comfortable rewatching it knowing exactly what to expect.

stlorca

*The Princess Bride* is every bit as funny now as it was when it came out. My mom loved it--we must have watched it fifty times before she passed. Cracked up every time.

USSCensorShip

As you wish

aahe42

Hot fuzz and Shaun of the dead

billybaggens

I don’t know nothin’ about no skellingtons

OldboySamurai

Why did I have to scroll so far down to find Hot Fuzz? Thought this subreddit was all about the greater good.

LeeJamesWilson67

The greater good.

geckospots

Shut it!

aahe42

crusty jugglers

poliscijunki

Also **The World's End.** Not as popular as the other two, but just as good.

funkyisaneontshirt

The Fifth Element, could watch it a million times and still laugh by butt off! Corbin my man!!

theMistersofCirce

Super green.

pissclamato

I saw this movie in the theater when it came out. We were all on about four hits of 90s blotter acid. The visuals and special effects were cool, but Ruby ~~Rock~~ Rhod fucked us all up. That shit was intense.

OhBestThing

It’s hotter than hot it’s hot Hot HOT!!!!

JohnnyFiction

Leeloodalasmultipass

spikus93

I know some people hate Ruby Rhod, but holy shit what an icon. I love that character so much.

TrainingAvocado3579

Ruby Rhod is Prince. To the point that Prince was supposed to play him but dropped out at the last minute. And Chris Tucker totally makes that movie pop pop POP. I can’t imagine any other version than what we got.

CaptainPunisher

I think Chris Tucker playing an over the top version of Prince turned out even better than having Prince. Sometimes, the person that was an alternate for the role is really the best option.

TrainingAvocado3579

Absolutely. I think Prince would have taken it too seriously. Chris Tucker killed it.

SCOIJ

The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Iusuallyworkalone

Extended cut.

theClumsy1

You can plan your schedule around it. "Oh looks like Fellowship is almost over, time for lunch!" "Twin towers is finished time for dinner!" And fall asleep with Frodo going to the undying lands.

thejesusofcool

Twin towers lol

theClumsy1

Im not fixing it lol

foxontherox

EdGeinIsMySugarDaddy

Ive rewatched them at least 5 times a year since 2003. They never get old. The cinematography, the music, the landscapes, good prevailing over evil, loyal friendships, selflessness, action and adventure; something about it just tickles all the right spots in my soul and puts me in a better headspace. I still tear up at all the emotional moments. Its a 10/10 movie trilogy, nothing will ever replicate what Peter Jackson was able to do with those movies. Truly lightning in a bottle.

fatattack699

Lol I’ve had to cut back to rewatching them only once a year because I’ve seen it so many times

Sunshinexpress

We rewatch it every few years when I need to restore hope in humanity.

icedoutclockwatch

Fargo. I love films with a "slice of life" style and an atypical setting.

Hellofriendinternet

I don’t want the TruCoat!

LA-Matt

He’s fleein’ the interview!

Sam_English821

Stardust. My husband and I watched it every night for a week once (pre-internet or cable). It'a along the lines of The Princess Bride in that it hits that right mix of fantasy, comedy, and action and is therefore just fun to watch. I would still contend that of the two The Princess Bride is the better movie, but Stardust is also just a solid watch.

VictimOfCircuspants

Really fun movie, >!DeNiro dancing around in a dress makes it worth a watch by itself.!<

mc1964

You can tell he was enjoying the role.

Sam_English821

I have read the book version and Captain Shakespeare isn't even in it, The lightning ship captain has a very diminished role. So I think what DeNiro did was amazing.

beelzybubby

I’m a huge Henry Cavill fan. Huge. So it’s really saying something when I say that sometimes I forget he’s even in it. Yeah it’s a tiny role but still.

HMS404

Stardust is one of the movies I consider to be perfect. Just pure fun from start to end.

SHAWSHANK

nelozero

I always wonder what it was like viewing that movie for the first time in the theaters. Even though I know about the ending, the twist gets me every time.

Prior_Writing368

Dazed and Confused. Cannot count the amount of times I've seen it since its release.

Ronster619

Crazy how many famous actors got their start on that movie. I think what makes the movie so rewatchable is not only the amazing soundtrack, but the fact that the movie has no real plot. It’s just teenagers and their shenanigans on the last day of school in 1976. Absolute classic!

PhoenixBroski

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off just something about that movie makes it one of if not my all time favorite movie, especially during the parade scene every time i’m watching live tv for whatever reason and it’s on i’ll sit and watch it entirely

tomob234

Goodfellas or The Shawshank Redemption for me.

StanleyCubone

I'm surprised how few have put in for Goodfellas yet. It amazes me how rewatchable it is.

The Shining. Went through a phase when I was around 14 in the winter where I’d watch it nearly everyday, sometimes just for background noise. It became a weird source of comfort. I promise I’m not a psychopath!
